30 Days of Passion and Revenge-Chapter 201: Ethan’s Pregnancy Lessons
"What’s so strange about a man not knowing women’s stuff?!" Ethan Blackwood turned to face Lily, who looked like she was holding back laughter. He gritted his teeth and growled.
Why was he being laughed at by his own woman and driver?!
Was this something to be embarrassed about?!
"Do you know why a woman’s tastes change when pregnant?" Lily leaned forward with a smile and asked the driver.
"How would he know that?!" Ethan scoffed, his brows furrowed. Do women’s tastes change when they’re pregnant? How did he not know this?
"Uh..." The driver hesitated momentarily before finally answering, "It’s because of hormonal changes. My wife used to love sweets, but when she was pregnant, she craved sour foods. Later, she gave birth to a big baby boy."
"Really? Congratulations!" Lily smiled and congratulated him, then turned to look at Ethan, her eyes twinkling with amusement. It was clear she was saying, See? Only some men are as clueless as you!
Ethan clenched his lips tightly, his anger simmering with no outlet. He snapped at the driver, "Why do you, a grown man, know so much about women’s stuff?!"
What, did he want to become a woman and give birth?!
The driver, looking utterly helpless, replied with a miserable expression, "Mr. Blackwood, my wife gave me a stack of pregnancy magazines to read. She made me learn. I didn’t know any of this before, I swear..."
"It’s okay if you didn’t know before. A man willing to learn for his wife is good," Lily praised the driver.
The driver’s face grew even more miserable. Miss Anderson, please stop adding fuel to the fire... Mr. Blackwood is going to skin me alive soon...
Of course, Ethan understood the hidden meaning behind Lily’s words. His face cold, he asked, "Are you saying I’m not good to you?!"
Lily blinked and smiled, not saying a word.
"Lily Anderson!"
"You’re good to me, alright?" Lily finally said, raising her hand to touch his cold, stern face lightly. Smiling, she added, "Okay, stop frowning."
Her words sounded as forced as they could be.
"Lily, are you brushing me off?!" Ethan grabbed her hand, his voice icy.
"No," Lily shook her head, then leaned sideways, falling into his arms. She interlaced her fingers with his, looking at their hands entwined, and smiled. "How could I say you’re not good to me just because you don’t know anything about pregnancy? It’s not your fault you don’t know. Right?"
That didn’t sound like a compliment at all.
Damn it, was it that big of a deal to not know about pregnancy?! He could just buy a few magazines and read them. Was Ethan going to be outdone by a driver?!
"Sharp-tongued girl," Ethan huffed, pulling her closer as his gaze darkened.
There was no way he could let the woman in his arms find out that his father was forcing him into marriage.
He had to do something before his father set the wedding date and made everything final.
It wasn’t even dinner time yet, but the kitchen was already bustling with activity as the chefs prepared the evening meal, filling the house with delicious aromas.
In the kitchen, Lily, under Nanny’s guidance, was making a Chinese pear and snow fungus dessert soup. It was her first time making a sweet soup, and she kept asking, "Is the heat okay like this?"
"It’s fine. Miss Anderson, if you wanted some sweet soup, I could have made it for you," Nanny replied. "You should be resting more now that you’re pregnant."
"Ethan had a bit of a cough last night."
When they had been setting off fireworks the night before, Ethan had given Lily his coat to wear. He hadn’t put on anything extra himself. She had forgotten to remind him, and later, she heard him cough a couple of times.
"Miss Anderson cares about Mr. Blackwood," Nanny said with a pleased smile. Seeing how well the couple got along now brought her a lot of comfort.
It had taken them so long to get to this point.
Hearing Nanny’s comment, Lily pouted and said, "And since he’s so hot-tempered, this pear and snow fungus soup will be perfect for him. It helps with coughs and phlegm, cools the body, moisturizes the lungs, and reduces internal heat!"
"Pff..."
Nanny couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
So the pear and snow fungus soup was tailor-made for Mr. Blackwood, with all the ingredients explicitly targeting his issues...
"It’s ready."
Lily ladled the soup into two bowls and placed them on a tray. "You should have some, too, Nanny. Let me know how I did."
"Thank you, Miss Anderson."
Lily carried the tray into the living room, where she saw Ethan sitting on the couch, flipping through a book.
Quietly, she set the tray down, then tiptoed behind him, raising her hands, ready to give him a playful scare.... Still, before she could, Ethan’s hand shot up and caught hers with perfect accuracy.
"You think you can sneak up on me?" Ethan said smugly, gripping her hand firmly and placing it on his shoulder.
This man... His reflexes were too sharp.
"How did you know I was behind you?" Lily asked, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and resting her chin on his shoulder.
She had deliberately padded, even holding her breath to surprise him. How had he known? No matter how good his instincts were, they couldn’t be that good, right?
"If you’re within two meters of me, I can feel it!" Ethan nonchalantly continued flipping through his book.
"Two meters? Seriously?" Lily was skeptical. Could he sense her from two meters away?
"Yes, because you have a certain smell."
"I do not!" Lily immediately protested, instinctively raising her hand to sniff herself. There was no smell.
"Heh." Ethan chuckled lowly, his laughter deep and seductive. He kissed her hand, "Lily, are you dumb? Do you think I’d still want you if you smelled bad?"
Had she believed him?
Had he been teasing her?!
Lily, annoyed, gave him a playful punch, then bent over to look at the book in his hands. On the cover was a photo of a pregnant woman, and the title read Things to Pay Attention to During the Second Month of Pregnancy.
Was he reading pregnancy magazines?
Lily’s heart warmed. These magazines were boring, yet he was willing to read them...
"Such a good boy," Lily teased, a grin spreading across her face as she ruffled his short hair.
Ethan’s face instantly darkened, and he grumbled, "Lily, do you think I’m your dog?!"
Was there anything weirder than a woman ruffling a man’s hair...?
"Don’t you do this to me all the time?" Lily teased, repeatedly running her hand through his hair, enjoying the feeling. But Ethan quickly grabbed her hand and turned to glare at her. "Lily, only I get to do that to you!"
"Why?" she asked. Gender equality, right?
"Because I’m your man!" Ethan declared possessively. He pulled her down slightly and lifted his face, kissing her from below.
His kisses were always filled with heat and passion, and he wouldn’t stop until she was weak and breathless.
"Mmm..."
Lily, bent over and kissing him from above, was starting to feel uncomfortable and tried to pull away.
Ethan released her without much resistance, then reached out and playfully ruffled her hair.
Lily, now busy trying to fix her messy hair, glared at him. "Your sense of revenge is too strong!"
His short hair wouldn’t get messy from a bit of ruffling, but he just had to mess with hers in return...
"You’re just figuring that out?" Ethan smirked at her with a playful glint in his eyes.
Lily was at a loss for words. She rolled her eyes at him, then picked up the pear and snow fungus soup, holding it out in front of him. "Drink this!"
"Feed me!" Ethan said, adjusting his position on the couch to sit more comfortably. He pulled her into his arms, acting like a king issuing orders.
"Drink it yourself," Lily huffed. Did he think he was some emperor?
"Feed me!" Ethan repeated, just as oppressive as ever.
"Fine, I’ll drink it myself then."
If he didn’t appreciate it, then fine. She had explicitly asked Nanny to teach her how to make it.
Ignoring him, Lily scooped a spoonful of the soup and brought it to her mouth. But before she could chew, Ethan moved faster than lightning. He leaned down, pressed his hand over the bowl, and captured her lips with his own, seizing the spoonful.
"Mmm..."
Lily’s eyes widened in shock.
Hey, she was in the middle of eating!
What was wrong with this man?!
Ethan’s hot tongue licked and sucked at her lips, trying to pry them open, but Lily stubbornly kept her mouth closed, her almond-shaped eyes wide with surprise.
Ethan frowned slightly, his teeth gently biting her lips, adding a tingling sensation that made her tremble.
Using both his tongue and teeth, Ethan didn’t give up. But Lily still kept her lips sealed tight.
His eyes darkened with determination, and he bit down harder on her lip. Lily yelped in pain, her lips parting, and Ethan immediately invaded her mouth, their lips locked in a firm kiss.
A victorious gleam appeared in Ethan’s eyes as his tongue slipped into her mouth, tasting everything. He kissed her deeply, even taking the small piece of pear from her mouth.
When Ethan finally let her go, Lily was dizzy from the kiss. He wiped his moist lips with his fingers, his eyes dark with desire. "Lily, so you like feeding me this way, huh?"
He had practically pounced on her like a hungry wolf—how could he twist the truth like this?!
Lily hadn’t even had a chance to taste the soup she made. Now, all she could taste was Ethan.
This man!
"Why are you glaring at me like that?" Ethan asked, smirking as he lifted her chin. "Upset that I ate your soup? How about... I feed you instead?"
How could he make something sound so suggestive and indecent?
"Move over, you pervert!" Lily muttered, realizing that the soup was starting to cool.
"If you’re going to call me a pervert, I might as well act like one," Ethan teased, moving even closer. He wrapped his arms around her and whispered seductively into her ear, "Lily, let’s go upstairs, hmm?"
The way he said "hmm" was low, sensual, and alluring, sending a shiver down her spine.
Lily took a deep breath to calm her racing heart. She had to admit that even when Ethan was being mischievous, he was irresistibly sexy, making her heart skip a beat.
Seeing her stiffen up, Ethan smirked and leaned closer, brushing his lips against her ear and taking her earlobe between his teeth. She shivered in his arms.
Lily almost dropped the bowl she was holding.
If he kept this up, she’d collapse into his arms, entirely at his mercy... No, she couldn’t let him win every time.
"If you don’t move, are you suggesting we stay on the couch...?" Ethan whispered as he nibbled on her earlobe, his voice dripping with seduction.
Pervert! Scoundrel!
Lily sat frozen, letting him kiss and tease her, her body tense as she tried to resist.
But after a moment, Ethan’s breathing grew heavier, no longer satisfied with kissing her ear.
He cupped her face with one hand, his breath quickening as he moved to kiss her face, his lips and tongue exploring every inch...
