Chapter 40: Forsaken

Light had been on the road for a while and could finally see Warwick Castle on the horizon. He had not found a single zombie in all the time he had been on the road.

He didn’t want to admit it, but the Forsaken had done a tremendously good job, they deserved at least that much respect.

Of course, zombie bodies and the like could be seen in some places, all buried under the snow from the falling snow.

Light had prepared himself well, he was only a short distance from entering the castle. The small huts and the like were visible.

There were smiles on many people’s faces, and even though Light was a little scared when he saw Light and his appearance, he was still shocked to see that people were happy there.

People were not skinny, they could find enough food even in this cold. On top of that, when Light looked at the people with his inspection skill, he saw that every single one of them was good, and there were only more than a dozen people who were prone to evil.

What was going on?

Arriving in front of the castle, Light got off the snowmobile, after fixing his clothes, he saw the group coming out of the castle and waited.

Seeing that everyone in the group had a ’good’ predisposition, Light shook his head, reached out his hand to the snowmobile and sent it to his Sub-Space.

While the others in the group were trying to understand what was going on, Light suddenly spoke:

"My name is Arah, I’m here to trade."

At these words, the group stopped for a few seconds and one of them looked at Light and said, "What is this mask? What are you trying to hide?"

After this questioning, Light tilted his head slightly to the right and said, "Haven’t you ever heard that a merchant’s secrets are one of the things that should not be asked? If you don’t want to trade, I’ll trade with your people."

The group nodded their heads at these words, and then one of them looked back towards Light and said"Wait here." with that, the speaker went back into the castle.

After only five minutes of waiting, a man and a woman came out of the castle.

The two were looking at Light and his suppressor mask and trying to figure out what was going on, or rather what Light was trying to do.

"We heard you were here for trade. My name is George, this is my wife Olivia. Please come in."

The man who introduced himself as George had invited Light inside the castle door. Without refusing this offer, Light entered the castle and looked around.

There were many people inside the castle, though not as many as outside. Luke was nowhere to be seen, which was good because he was afraid that Light would draw his gun and shoot him.

"In exchange for what I can sell you, I will ask you for certain things, my demands may change in the future, but if you accept these opportunities, there is no limit to what we can do."

Light suddenly uttered these words and at that very moment, dozens of guns were drawn towards him.

He of course knew that such a thing could happen, but as far as he could see with his eyes, there was not a single evil human being in this room, which meant that he would not die unless he did something wrong.

He could have shown the group in front of him that he would not die by entering his Sub-Space anyway, but that was not the important thing right now.

"I’d rather you put those weapons back in," Light suddenly said, and the inner entrance of the castle suddenly began to glow on all sides.

Light began to speak again as those around tried to understand what was going on:

"I can walk out of here, of course, as I said, I am a merchant, let me introduce myself again. My name is Arah and I travel, share, gather information and live like this."

Of all the lies he told, the only truth was that his name was Arah.

Everyone was surprised when food and drinks, even things that could keep people warm, suddenly appeared in the glow around them. When someone in the group tried to touch the food, all the food disappeared and Light said in a calm tone:

"Tch-tch-tch-tch...Trade goes both ways."

The man who introduced himself as George shook his head and then looked at Olivia, whom he introduced as his wife, and after only a few seconds, Olivia said aloud, "Put the guns down boys and girls."

"Let’s talk in the boardroom, Mr Merchant." George suddenly uttered the words and nodded, Light nodded in agreement and followed him.

After a short time,e they entered a room covered in crimson paintings. This was Warwick Castle’s Red Drawing Room. fгeewebnovёl.com

"Please take a seat and start talking about the information you want, if it is the information we can offer you we would like to trade."

At Olivia’s words, Light nodded his head in agreement and said in a calm voice:

"I’m looking for three people who are likely to be in your group. I have their height, body type, appearance and many more in mind. These three people have done me and my group a disservice. You can understand why I am looking for them."

These words worried everyone in the room. Every single human being in this room knew each other every single person in the castle was known and trusted by George and Olivia before the apocalypse.

Which meant that there might be a few arseholes in their group.

"Firstly, forgive me for not even checking to see if such people are inside the Forsaken. Secondly, may I ask what these people did to your group?" George suddenly spoke curiously, drawing Light’s attention to himself.

"To put it simply... My group member wanted to help them and they took everything he had cut off his arm and stuck a knife in his leg so that he couldn’t walk. In short, they cruelly left him to die."

"This....." George could hardly believe what he was hearing.

"Now please tell me, are you in or out of the trade?"
