A Regressor's Guide to the Frozen Apocalypse-Chapter 48: Soon The Hunt Will Begin
Chapter 48: Soon The Hunt Will Begin
Light’s shock upon hearing these words was enormous. He had no idea how many zombies he had killed so far, and of course, as a normal person, it had never occurred to him to search for their bodies.
At that moment, he was thinking about what kind of crazy person would look for zombie bodies, but considering that the flammability of zombie bodies was three times higher than human bodies, it seemed quite normal for people to collect zombie blood.
With this, Light had even more reason to go zombie hunting, and now this desire had become a certainty.
After nodding his head up and down again as if he was satisfied with the answers, Light looked at the shopkeeper again and then asked, "Have you come across the person or people who hunt these zombies?"
The shopkeeper just shook his head from side to side and then said, "No sir, some of them were already buried under the snow when we found the zombies."
Light seemed to understand, he had already asked all the questions he wanted to ask and after observing the man with his inspection skill, he realised that he was a good person, that’s why he turned to Elise and said: "It would be good for you to keep this man as an explorer in your group, Miss Elise."
Elise didn’t even try to question Light and nodded her head and said "Sure, if you say so, he must have a lot of potential." Elise had chosen to live with her trust in Light as well as her trust in Light’s skill in the last few days, which of course led to a much better quality of life for her group.
Light shook his head in satisfaction, then took out a bag from his Sub-Space, which was as heavy as a dead animal and handed it to the shopkeeper.
"You’re a bit scrawny, so I’m not sure if you can carry it, but this belongs to you, this is what the information you gave me is worth. Move to the shelter Elise will give you the bags I gave you for the purchase, if you have a family, take them with you, you are safe now."
After that, the shopkeeper left the meeting room and then Light turned to Elise and said, "I haven’t forgotten your help, ma’am, don’t worry." He took one of the papers and pens on the meeting table and started to write a few things on the paper.
After a few seconds, he handed the paper to Elise and Elise, who had read the paper, suddenly stood up and looked at Light in disbelief.
"This is...." Elise had blurted out.
"It’s a little gift list of how we would like to be in a relationship with you, madam, please don’t be surprised. After all, I want to be good friends with you."
These were the words that would symbolise the friendship between Elise’s Raon group and the Scavengers, and the paper that Light handed to Elise contained some very good gifts.
Light had previously offered to give 12 healthy cows to the group and had agreed to pay for it in exchange for information, but the paper he handed to Elise now said that he wanted to give 28 healthy breeding cows. This was an incredible amount.
It was an unbelievable amount only for people like Elise, after all, there were over 15,000 cows in Light’s Sub-Space, and it would be great if only half of them could reproduce, and every single one of them could reproduce.
That was a gigantic amount.
"I... I don’t even know how to thank you, Light. Before you came, our situation was terrible, even better than the people outside, but you made everything better. With the supplies you gave us, people were able to regain energy and some even managed to return to their sports. It’s safe to say that my group has become stronger because of you."
When Elise said these words out of the blue, Light was proud of himself on the one hand and angry at Elise on the other.
"You shouldn’t humiliate yourself like that Elise, you are a much stronger and better leader than you think. I can assure you that your people are in this state because of your actions so far. I only did a few touches, after all, having someone like you by my side would help me a lot, so that’s what I thought at the beginning. Right now, I want nothing more than to be close friends with you."
With those words Elise got up from her seat and went to the edge of the window, the tears flowed down her face, albeit involuntarily, and the sound of her breathing echoed in the meeting room.
After all even a strong and perhaps good-willed human being like Elise was trying to keep her face strong, after all being a leader was making you do this.
Such help, such an increase in the chances of her people’s survival, no matter what Light said, Elise didn’t know how to repay her debt.
Light was shaking his head as if he couldn’t understand when he started to trust people so much.
Sure, the inspection skill showed that Elise was an Angel, but the fact that he remembered that just a few months ago he was ready to kill even the man in the taxi he was riding in at any moment seemed to tell him how much he had changed.
Now Light just had to wait for a while.
After all, the people sent by Elise, who were supposed to make reports of where zombies might be, had to go back to Birmingham. The fact that there were hundreds of snow-covered places around already told everyone that the report would take a while.
So during this time, Light would supervise the new soldiers he had taken under his command and help Elise as much as possible, and then he would leave Birmingham for a while.
He couldn’t even imagine how powerful he could become with the orbs he could gain, and the fact that he still didn’t even know what was in the fire mutant orb only added to the mystery surrounding this system and this apocalypse.
Yet no matter what, there was one thing that could be known for certain:
The hunt was about to begin.
