A Regressor's Guide to the Frozen Apocalypse-Chapter 60: Building the Camp
Chapter 60: Building the Camp
Aurora looked carefully at the architect’s plan that Light had given her shook her head and then muttered, "It’s quite good and detailed, though a little too detailed, sir, you’ll need a lot of wood for such a hut."
Aurora’s surprise surprised everyone in the group, including Light.
Aurora had worked as an architect for a long time, her name may not have been well known, but she was indeed a woman many people wanted to hire.
Light smiled, even though he did not understand why he would need more wood, and then opened his arms and dug out dozens of oak logs about forty metres from the house.
When Aurora saw them, she said, "Young oak trees, eh? They are quite good quality, and usable, but... Are you an architect or something, sir Light? To have such a detailed architect’s plan..."
"Everyone has a little secret Aurora, I just wanted to fulfil the promises I made to you. As I said, we will make this place our haven, a place where no zombies, mutants and malicious people can enter." Light replied and then added the following words with a smile:
"I leave all the decision to you, I only ask that the huts be built at least six hundred metres away from the house and in any case not to dig the ground within six hundred metres. Apart from these two requests, everything else is up to you, you can do whatever you want to do."
Aurora and the others were quite excited and surprised after Light’s words, it was strange and interesting that he was leaving such decisions to Aurora, even though it had not been long since they had met Light.
It was even more surprising for Petunia who knew almost everything.
That’s why Petunia had approached her younger brother Light’s ear and asked, "Are you sure you want to leave such decisions to someone you’ve just met?"
Light shook his head and then approached his older sister and simply said, "Angel."
Petunia smiled when she heard the word and then nodded, stepped back and said aloud, "All right then, it’s up to Aurora’s judgment."
With that, Petunia, Lawrence and Pacifica entered the house and Light rolled up his sleeves and pulled the wood back into his inventory.
He turned to Aurora and asked, "Where do you want me to take the wood?" The fact that he had all the materials for building in his inventory made everything easier, it would be possible to build a hut very easily indeed.
Within a short time, the distance between the house and the building site was measured and a site seven hundred metres from the house was chosen for the main part.
This area was almost six hundred metres beyond the first electric fence and walls around the house, which meant that it was possible to build dozens of huts in this hut architect plan, which was not even of average size.
At Aurora’s request, dozens of oak logs, a wood cutting table, construction metals for the earth’s stability, thousands of nails, about ten hammers, saws, many electrical tools and much more were placed on what was intended to be a building site and with that Light’s work was well underway.
After Aurora’s brief instruction, Light understood exactly what he had to do and began the process of moving the wood into planks and so on, with Leonard, Kyle and Duke organising the wood into planks and so on, while Charles and his group stood guard.
Light was strong, above the limit of a human, he may have still appeared to be smaller and of average muscle mass, but he was indeed superhumanly strong.
He carried ten or fifteen logs and planks at a time to the places Aurora had indicated.
Each time, one after the other, he carried more and more wood so that the work was close to completion.
He soon finished this task and had at least enough wood and planks for the construction of three huts and a few other necessary materials in place.
It had taken almost three days, and with that, the five-month period had begun, and the future as Light knew it now rested on the next month.
It had been five months since the apocalypse full of glaciers and mutation had begun.
Light finally found a day to rest and spent half a day sleeping soundly. When he woke up, he managed to realise that he had received a message on his phone. It was incredibly strange that the internet and power grids were still working.
This was not the kind of apocalypse Light remembered. The internet and power grids had collapsed after almost three months, and the water grids were already frozen and unusable.
That meant something had changed.
Of course, things were going to change, there was no way it could not happen.
The connections Light made, the things he saw the phone networks that were still going on and more.
Someone was really determined to keep things going.
The person who sent him the message was none other than Elise.
Before passing through Birmingham, Light had given one of his band members a phone to take to Elise and a generator connected to a solar panel with a radio. He had also written his number on a piece of paper and had parted ways with the band after handing it over.
The only reason for this was that in any case, Light wanted to stay in touch with Elise, whom he considered a friend.
"Light, unfortunately, we didn’t manage to find that trio, or rather, even if we did, the news we received wasn’t good..."
When Light saw this message, he immediately realised that the message from this unknown number was from Elise.
What caught his attention was what this woman had written.
Light’s heart was filled with anxiety, something he hadn’t expected to hear, even the possibility of something going wrong frightened him.
The revenge he wanted to take on Percy, Liam and Karen was enormous, literally every thought filled his mind and heart with hatred.
The real question was what Elise was trying to tell Light.
"What happened?"
