Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 125-His Fiancée Takes A Dig At Me
Iris:
The drive to the South took days because of the kids. We decided to take the car instead of a plane.
They wanted to enjoy the long journey, watch the views, and stop at every place that caught their attention.
I agreed because I did not want to deny them something so harmless, and also because their father supported all their wishes.
He was excited to show them around and show them how much respect he received whenever he arrived somewhere.
We stayed in small packs along the way. The warriors booked rooms.
The alphas of the packs threw dinners for us, and we rested before starting again.
Every day felt longer. The car rides were quiet at times, but not for long, because Kash would say something to the children that made me tense, almost like asking if they ever thought about staying with him at his mansion.
Other times, it was the way he looked at Luca whenever Luca tried to speak with the kids at any stayover location.
I kept my eyes on the window during the car rides, trying not to react.
After days of traveling, we finally reached the South.
The moment we approached the border gate, I could hear cheering from the crowd waiting there.
Dancers stepped forward, moving in bright clothes and in very synchronized steps.
Drums played in the background.
Amy and Colin almost pressed their faces against the window, pointing at everything that caught their attention.
The car slowed down and stopped at the main entrance, where a large group of people waited for us.
In front of them stood Lara, wearing a blue dress with a pearl necklace and full makeup, with her father, Lord Ronald.
He watched everything with a cocky grin until his eyes landed on me.
I noticed him narrowing his eyes at me, almost like he was judging me.
Then his daughter leaned toward him, whispering something while both of their eyes stayed on me, so I could tell they were talking about me.
I stepped out of the car quietly, letting the kids rush out with excitement.
Kash stayed close to them, introducing them to everyone.
Pack members from different packs had arrived to take a glimpse of him.
That was when Lara made her move. She ran straight toward Kash and landed in his arms without looking at anything else.
He held her steady while the children looked around awkwardly.
My stomach tightened, but I kept a small smile on my lips.
Then Lord Ronald stepped forward to greet Kash.
His daughter finally broke the hug and stood beside Kash, her arm wrapped around his.
"Our new Alpha King is here," he announced to his people, and they all cheered.
Of course. This was why Kash chose her. With me, he was not getting anything.
With her, he was going to get the entire South and the blue river.
The cheering continued as we moved forward. Several pack members stepped forward to greet us, more specifically to greet Kash.
Some of them glanced at me and then whispered. I could tell they might have recognized me as Kash’s ex-wife.
Their smiles faded a little, then returned quickly when they looked at Kash and Lara holding hands. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
It was not direct hostility, but it was clear enough for me to notice.
Lord Ronald, on the other hand, was easy to read. He bent slightly to greet Amy and Colin, but even that small gesture felt forced.
His eyes did not soften the way people usually softened around children.
It looked like he was only doing it because Kash was watching.
Then he straightened and turned to me.
"Oh, I heard you two have rejected each other," Ronald remarked casually, though his gaze showed me he was being sarcastic.
My eyes moved to Kash. He was busy greeting the warriors and had no idea I was looking at him, but the fact that Ronald already knew made my chest feel heavy.
Kash had not even spent a day before informing Lara about the rejection.
"Yes," I replied, forcing a smile as if it did not bother me.
Ronald smiled at my answer as if it pleased him. Of course it did. His daughter was getting everything she wanted.
We entered the pack, and shortly after, they showed us around before taking us back to the main mansion.
I kept wondering when we would see the Blue River.
Being so close to it made me restless, and even my mother looked cheerful.
Their mansion stood very tall with a wide entrance, white terraces, and white walls.
Several servants rushed out to welcome us. They began to carry our bags inside.
Lara strolled ahead, leading us with confidence. She was the one who guided us to the guest rooms.
Scarlett took the kids first because they needed freshening up.
I watched Colin and Amy rush toward her, excited to explore something new now that their father was here.
Lara waited until everyone else had entered their rooms. I was the last to be guided.
She walked with me down a long hallway where the guest rooms were lined door after door.
The opposite wall was entirely made of tall windows, letting the bright sun spill inside.
Even the wall at the end of the hallway was a huge glass window, glowing with afternoon light.
She stopped at the last door and opened it for me.
"This is your room," she commented, smiling like she had been waiting to speak with me.
I stepped inside but stayed near the doorway. When I noticed she did not leave, I realized she had more to say.
"So it seems like you two finally rejected each other," she remarked. "It is great, honestly. I guess you were waiting because you did not expect Kash to marry me." She lifted her chin and formed a pout, acting as if she felt sorry for me.
"Well, then Kash must have told you that I was the one who asked him for a rejection," I replied, looking directly at her, my arms folded across my chest.
