Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 177-Somebody Betrayed Me
Iris:
"It’s been ten days, Luca. What is the news on Kash?" I asked him, checking the weapons in front of me.
They were laid out on a large table. I was wearing a white shirt and a pair of jeans. My hair was pulled high into a ponytail.
When I stayed with my parents after I got pregnant and ran away from Kash, I learned a lot about wars, especially weapons.
I also watched many warriors get trained. Although I could not be very strong because I lacked a lycan, I did know how to defend myself.
Even in the last few days, I had hired some of the finest fighters to train me.
lycan or no lycan, I was going to fight back if anyone tried to lay a finger on me again or on my children. It was the same thing.
Some of our spies told us they had seen Kash take a flight and move his warriors from his pack with him. It seemed like they were traveling, heading to another place.
"My father texted him today, asking if the news was correct, and Kash replied that we would know. It seemed like he was planning an attack on us," Luca explained, and I grunted.
"Iris, it seems like you were right. Kash is up to something. The way he is sneaking around and preparing warriors from different areas, it seems like he is planning an attack. What do you suggest we should do?" Luca asked me finally, agreeing with me that Kash’s intentions seemed wrong.
However, the aggression I had shown earlier had faded. I could not explain why, but the thought of fighting Kash did not sit well with me. I knew he could hurt me, but I could not hurt him. I could not.
"Let’s plan a small meet-up with him. Let’s hear him out." The moment I said that, I watched Luca do a double take, as if he were in disbelief.
"Really? You’re agreeing to have a conversation with him?" he asked in confusion, since I had previously been very reluctant to the idea.
"Not me. Grab the previous alpha king or any other alpha and present him as the new alpha king. Or my father could do that too. He could pretend to be the alpha king. Let’s see what he needs. Let’s not jump straight to violence," I stated, then quickly looked down to avoid his gaze.
"Is it because you still have feelings for him?" Luca questioned.
The moment he asked me that, I raised my head, expecting to snap at him and remind him that I had no feelings for Kash. However, the delay in my response was already an answer.
He smiled, then nodded his head.
"I understand. You’re right. We can talk with him. Let’s see what he needs," Luca added as he stepped away to prepare a solid plan and good questions for my father to ask.
Of course, they would have to find a very safe place for the meet-up. We would not want Kash entering our territory. Once he was inside, we did not know what he would do.
After checking the weapons and handling other important things, I wandered back into the mansion, tired and exhausted, but that did not stop me from heading straight to my children’s room.
They had been preparing for school, which would help shape their thoughts and questions better.
The moment I stepped into the room, I saw the two of them sitting together on the couch. They folded their arms across their chests and looked away from me.
"Are you upset with me?" I asked, reaching over and sitting beside them.
"Are you going to hurt Daddy?" Colin asked, giving me a side-eye.
"No, of course not. We’re not going to war." The moment I said that, both of them turned to me.
"Really, Mommy? So they will not hurt Daddy?" Amy asked, hopping off the couch and stepping closer to me, her small hands resting on my knees.
"No. Nobody can hurt your daddy. He’s very powerful," I replied, smiling at the thought of him.
It hurt me. It broke something inside me. One moment, I felt anger toward him, and the next, I missed him so much it made me miserable.
If only he had not cheated. If only he had loved me even half as much as I had loved him.
"Mommy, then why can’t we go back home? I miss Daddy."
I had not expected Colin to ask that. I thought they were happy here.
"Why? Did somebody upset you here?" I asked him.
He shook his head.
"No, but I miss Daddy," he whispered.
I pulled them both into a hug and held them close for a while. Before heading back to my room, I stayed with them for a few hours.
I ate dinner with them, just the three of us. Then I put them to bed and told them a bedtime story. I did not leave until they had both fallen asleep.
When I finally returned to my room, I noticed the door was open. That confused me because I clearly remembered locking it before I left. Even the guard who was supposed to be outside was gone.
"That’s odd," I muttered as I stepped inside and looked around.
I took a moment to check under the bed and around the room, making sure nobody had entered. It seemed like no one had. I then reached into the closet to grab my nightdress.
I would deal with everything later. I would ask who had been in my room and check the cameras. But as I picked up my nightdress, I noticed something else.
The safe in the closet was unlocked.
It felt as if all the blood drained from my body.
There was a lock on it. It was supposed to stay closed. I quickly opened the safe, and it felt like my worst fear had come to life when I did not see the piece of paper with the address or the bottle with the medicine.
Just then, I heard someone behind me, and my entire body broke out in goosebumps. I got up from the ground and, moving very slowly, turned around to face him. As I swallowed, I uttered,
"Wilson."
