Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 109: Golden Tablet
Chapter 109: Golden Tablet
Elena quickly retrieved a syringe to collect a drop of blood from the floor. She had been thinking lately about how to outsmart the heaven, especially the favor ones.
Now, she had devised a plan to confine her enemy inside the space. There, she would carry out her bidding, turning the space to her advantage.
’Let’s see if Heaven can still influence this individual inside Paradise,’ Elena smirked at the thought of her plan.
Upon seeing his wife about to crouch down, Ethan quickly assisted her and reached for the syringe to take a drop of blood, finally realizing her intention.
Still, he sought confirmation. "Wife, are you going to mark the thug?"
Elena nodded with a smirk. "Yes, since we can’t take him by force, let’s extract him covertly without alerting the other thugs. This bastard called me a bitch, and I intend to make him regret it."
They finally witnessed Elena’s other side—the vengeful one. Most of the time, they only saw her as the warm, smiling woman who was always accommodating, especially to the kids.
But the way she smirked now was filled with malice. They wondered what fate awaited the red-haired thug under Elena’s wrath.
Seeing them curiously watching her, Elena rolled her eyes and instructed them to clean the floor.
"Alright, let’s get to work. We’re not done yet; we need to clear this area from the smell of blood. The other thugs will return to the manager’s unit soon and probably will head here. We can’t let them get suspicious about the blood smell and these dead bodies."
Before they could get started, they heard footsteps approaching.
It was Lydia who had seen the action on the CCTV and was concerned, so she volunteered to go downstairs to check on them.
"Are you guys okay?" she asked.
"We’re fine. The thugs didn’t even budge when we ambushed them. It was a one-sided victory," Oslo bragged, starting to store the dead bodies in his [Inventory], planning to toss them out the window later.
Lydia rolled her eyes and joined them in cleaning the area.
Meanwhile, Elena was focused on her Golden Tablet, her expression serious as she commanded, "Add a new mark with a cage-shaped symbol. Restrictions: This mark means they can only access the Southeast Training Ground sector and cannot leave voluntarily in Paradise. They will be treated as prisoners."
Elena had constructed a dome-shaped portable house in the Southeast Training Ground for interrogation.
It was painted plain black and illuminated by a single overhead light, creating an atmosphere of intimidation and fear. She intended to use this structure for cage-shaped marks to ensure they remained confined.
She observed as the Golden Tablet executed her command, adding the cage-shaped mark to the Symbol Tab. A satisfied smile crossed her face as she prepared to mark the red-haired thug.
Elena had two options for sending the individual into space.
If the person was marked, she could use the Golden Tablet to force summon that person.
If that person were unmarked, she would need to establish physical contact to transport that person to the space.
In the case of this red-haired thug, hiding in the manager’s unit. Elena didn’t want to cause commotion and alert the other thugs, for they still needed to ambush them later.
So, she was determined to silence the red-haired thug using the Golden Tablet.
In addition, her anger was boiling. She had noticed him during the previous confrontation, and his lingering stare had ignited a deep rage within her.
Hearing him call her a bitch a while ago only intensified her fury. Elena snapped, consumed by the desire to make him pay for his disrespect, and wanted revenge.
Time was running out, and marking the red-haired thug for extraction appeared to be the best option.
The pressing question was whether the Golden Tablet would permit her to mark someone without their consent.
"Husband, is the blood ready?"
Ethan nodded and handed her the syringe. "Here, wife," he replied, curiosity flickering as he wondered if it would work.
Without hesitation, Elena dropped the blood onto the Golden Tablet and watched intently as it processed her request.
After a few seconds, a name appeared in the Marked Tab, accompanied by a cage-shaped mark.
"Hahaha, it works!" Elena exclaimed, her laughter ringing with joy at the outcome. She then activated the skill [Memory] to delve into the thug’s past experiences.
The Golden Tablet held a set of skills that governed the marked individual bound to it.
Elena had been granted the ability to read the memories of the marked ones and was eager to test this skill on the red-haired thug.
Focusing on uncovering his life’s specific details, she activated the [Memory] skill. Instantly, a series of vivid scenes began to unfold before her.
’So, he’s part of a syndicate that raids wealthy houses,’ Elena realized, piecing together the memories. ’They’re here because the manager promised them wealth after raiding this building.’
Elena then activated her [Telepathy] skill to intimidate the red-haired thug. She sought to instil fear in him before she took him out and sent him into space.
"Your time has come," Elena said mysteriously, her voice dripping with an eerie tone that sent shivers down the spine of anyone who heard it.
The red-haired thug cursed nonstop as he bandaged his injury alone in the manager’s unit while the others raided the residents downstairs.
Suddenly, he felt a warm sensation on his head, a comforting warmth that surprised him. Then, he heard a [DING] followed by a voice speaking to him.
Terrified and confused, the red-haired thug looked around the silent unit, his voice shaking as he asked, "W-Whho are you?"
"Me? You’ll find out soon. No need to hurry. Take your time."
"Show yourself! Stop playing mind games!"
"Mind games? There’s no need for that; you’re not worthy to know my name."
"Where are you hiding? Do you think this trick will work on me? You’re wrong. Once I find you, you’ll regret messing with me."
"Ian Flit, 36 years old, part of a syndicate. You have robbed many people, killed numerous women, tortured them, and played with their lives. Should I continue?"
The red-haired thug was taken aback, panic rising within him. He had buried those details when he became a criminal, so no one should know about his life. Now, fear gripped him, accompanied by a deep sense of dread at the unknown voice.
"What are you?"
The voice fell silent, deepening his fear. He thought about going downstairs to find his thug friends, but the possibility of the occupants on the upper floor waiting at the door held him back.
With no explosions heard, he began to suspect that the grenade had malfunctioned.
On the other side, Elena sneered after she talked to the red-haired thug, a seemingly tough guy who was clearly a scaredy-cat inside.
Her simple intimidation had him trembling with fear, almost on the verge of pissing his pants.
Ethan observed his wife’s expression shift every few seconds—happy, sneering, mocking. Curiosity piqued, he asked, "Wife, what happened?"
"Husband, I already marked him, and it was a success. I just telepathically communicated with him a while ago to intimidate him," Elena informed him, then added.
"I told you a while ago that the Golden Tablet can access a marked individual’s memories, right? I just delved into the red-haired thug’s memories and uncovered some disturbing information. Well, this skill is useful, but it drains a lot of energy from the Reserve Energy Tab—about 9% for a single use," Elena explained, revealing what she had discovered.
"Then your husband will find more jades and antiques," Ethan smiled, promising to work harder. He continued, "So, they’re part of the syndicate, along with the manager."
"Hmmm. Yes, they are." Elena replied.
"What’s your next move?"
"It’s time to put him in Paradise. I’ll enter now and finish the job," Elena declared, ready to eradicate the thug.
"Alright, let’s go together. Wait a moment; I’ll instruct them to notify us if the other thugs return," Ethan said before heading off to inform the group of their plan.
Elena waited for Ethan before entering the space. Once inside, she swiftly teleported them to the Southeast Training Ground, where she gave him a brief overview of the area she planned to develop.
Once their abilities are awakened, they have to familiarize themselves. This section is dedicated to training, making it the perfect spot for practice.
Afterward, they entered a doom-shaped house, and with a wave of her hand, Elena forcefully summoned the red-haired thug.
Meanwhile, the thug stayed alert in the dark unit, shaken by a sudden voice. Before he could process what was happening, an unseen force pulled him away.
When he opened his eyes, he found himself in an unfamiliar dark room, lit by a single light.
In front of him stood two shadowy figures dressed like reapers, causing his body to tremble uncontrollably. Desperate, he called upon every god he could think of.
’Is this the end for me, oh lord? Please help me.’
If Elena knew of the thug’s foolish ambition to seek divine help after having killed so many, she would have laughed at his naivety.
"Don’t come to me. No, no, no!" he cried out in fear.
