Awakened: SSS Ranked Soul king-Chapter 116: Untitled
Just as expected, the members of the three clans were eliminated one after the other each failing to reach a considerable height.
The last of them to get eliminated was Logan.
But up until then, not a single member of the Blacksteels had been elimated. They stayed steadfast moving through the floors the castle.
"There were go" Guilliman eventually smiled watching as viper Blacksteel walked out of one of the castle doors with a look of dread and w bloody side.
Conquering the castle in one go was a pipe dream and they all knew that. Even lasting long didn't mean a thing. When Guilliman use to explore the castle he could last for a whole day.
"Damn, Even lady Whisper is out?"
The crowd speculated seeing the members of the blacksteel family exist the castle one after the other. They all hoped for a miracle, one person to become a shining becon for them all.
Unfortunately, this was but fantasy.
"How are you feeling?" Guillimans voice sounded as a female with silver hair and skin emitting a warm radiance emerged before him.
Victoria.
"That good for nothing knight nearly killed me for real!!" She sneered annoyance clearly filled in her tone.
Guilliman had a feeling that the ravens lord wouldn't treat Victoria any different from him. Her flames were able to eradicate the soul, she would surely struggle to kill him but if she really put her mind to it….there was no assurance he wouldn't die.
So when she entered, he sent her straight to the dungeon below and from there she had to make her way up. Unlike Guilliman this was actually her first time here.
Though she was much stronger than him, the difference in experience was quite evident.
"You'll do better next time" guilliman smiled, he remembered how frustrating it was to fight against that thing. Without Goliaths arm, he might have lost too.
"Anyway, your friend seems to be lasting quite long" Guilliman muttered.
If anyone stayed in there till this point, Guilliman would tag it as them not being able to progress fast enough. But he had seen thane fight, the only reason he could still be up there for was simple.
He was blasting through the levels at an astronomical pace.
"He's an overachiever" Victoria smiled looking at Guilliman. " he's like you in a way….i wonder why you don't seem to get along"
He follow up comment made the atmosphere a bit awkward leaving Guilliman a bit stunned. To be honest, she wasn't wrong about them to getting along. They didn't fight, but at the same time they weren't friends.
For some reason Guilliman didn't feel at ease with this easy going nobel. It was a bit out of place.
"We get along, what do you mean?" Guilliman of course lied through his teeth. He had no idea why they weren't buddy buddy like himself Jemie and Barthold.
Maybe it was a natural repulsion.
"Hmm, if you say so" Victoria after staring at Guilliman for a hot while turned her face back to the castle as in quick succession Dorn and Thane were sent out.
The two had lasted the longest in there so they were naturally ragged as most likely to control the shelter in future.
After that, they all dispersed joining their various factions and heading straight home to rest. In the coming weeks, the castle would be their second home.
They would enter it with passion every single time in an attempt to receive the inheritance. This was not the first nor would it be the last time they raided that castle.

"Hmm, never knew you were into forging man" Guilliman stood beside the bulky figure of Barthold as he mused.
Right now, they were at the top floor of a building with an open ceiling. Inside of the floor was an anvil and a blacksmiths chimney blazing with fire.
"Really? Most of the ironside family members can forge…it kind of comes with the territory" Barthold commented with a look of surprise. Who in the Blacksteel shelter didn't know of their families blacksmiths?
Even before they became so well known, their blacksmithimg abilities were well known.
'Sometimes I just wonder'
Barthold picked up a breastplate made from steel and gently brought it toward a wooden water container where he emerced it in water.
Steam quickly filled the room, but neither Guilliman nor Barthold were shaken by it. Rather Barthold was still mused by Guillimans complete ignorance.
Even as a scum rat, there were things she was supposed to know, things that were a matter of propaganda that was spread in the outskirts.
One of them was surely their smithing talent, but Guilliman here seemed to not know about it. In fact, there was a variety of things that Guilliman seemed to be oblivious off that raised a lot of questions.
However, it didn't really matter.
"Do you need to be here? You're distracting me" Barthold looked up at Guilliman who had climbed up one of the broken walls and was look down at him.
His amour echo had been destroyed a while ago. It was something he had gotten during their long journey, so it hurt to lose it.
However, he understood. It was a grand amour set he had used to fight against several mythic beasts, it was bound to break sooner or later.
Only, he would have preferred that it broke much later than it actually did. Now while others were trying to get the ravens lord inheritance, he was here trying to fashion a new set of amour.
"Nope, not going anywhere. Also…..I have questions " Guilliman shook his head and smiled mischievously.
The suite of amour he was currently forging was made from melted sentinel amour.
These things were surprisingly very durable dispite not being echos, or even the flesh of beasts. From Guillimans evaluation it was at least at mythic in terms of strength.
"It can wait, let me finish this part" Barthold sighed and simply walked away grappling a wet wood blueprint.
"Sigh" Guilliman looked up into the sky and wondered.
There was someone up there he still needed to go rescue, but he had unknowingly drawn himself into this drawn out endeavor.
Strength was indeed a hard thing to get.
"Caroline " he whispered
…..
"The young lady from the Silverstein family?"
Meanwhile, on the other side of the ravens wood shelter in a dark rooftop, a few individuals could be seen seated around a table.
If guilliman was here he would know a few of them.
There was Robin, Mason, Carlson all the higher ups of the Aaron family.
There was Nogran, Vincent and several men shrouded in darkness.
And finally a young man with green hair who didn't stand out that much.
"Yes her, just don't touch her. It would be better if your entire family was eradicated than for any of you to touch a piece of hair on her head" the young man with green hair said with a bottle of fermented milk in his hand.
They were the highest of nobles in the shelter, but after coming here, they couldn't even get their hands on proper booze.
As for where the milk came from, well he didn't want to speak of that.
"Hm, I wonder what their background really is for you to be so cautious Blacksteel?" One of the Nu asked a look of intrigue on his pale face.
This Hunder Blacksteel had gathered them here today for a very interesting topic. An assassination mission against a very important figure.
Thane Blacksteel, his younger brother.
"That's not for you to know Fugar" The young man with green hair sneered at the person who just asked.
Normally, aside from Nu family members, no one actually knew the names of those in the black uniforms of the Nu.
It was family tradition to keep most of their identities a secret, unless one gained fame like Nogran the Naga of the Nu. It was quite hard to know their names.
Calling out his name before everyone was a sort of warning to them all, as if he were saying he knew them and could kill them if they ratted him out.
"I see" Fugar sneered in annoyance then threw his face away.
"I'm not asking for much, just kill the fool. I'll even help out in the shadows. If not I'm telling you that guy will lead us all to our dooms" Hunder Blacksteel said.
Contrary to popular belief, the Blacksteels weren't actually on the same side.
Of the seven who survived, four were closely linked to Dorn, and although Dorn had nothing against this Brother of his, he also knew that he couldn't let him lead.
Thanes overzealous nature and sense of righteousness had slashed their original force during their journey in the mountains. If the let him grow stronger and amass a following here, the same thing would repeat itself.
So he sent out Hunder to make sure thane didn't Amass a following in the city. Especially amongst the great clans.
"This is rather awkward.." Mason whispered to Carlson.
Not so long ago, they struck an agreement with Victoria to at least hear our thane when he came back and now they were being recruited to assassinate the guy.
It was quite the situation
