Chapter 363: Defending the Territory

The battle outside was growing more and more intense. Nana had fully realized she was no match for the two Sentinels. But they still didn’t bypass her to enter the tower structure—they only wanted to kill her, as if Silvanus had been wholly disregarded.

Thinking back, that three-star Sentinel earlier had also aimed its guns only at her and Mira.

Did these brain-dead warriors actually discriminate by gender?!

Nana thought mockingly, though it didn’t change the fact that she was being pushed back without pause.

Her shield was tattered, and her attacks couldn’t inflict any significant damage on the two Sentinels.

Even when she unleashed a mighty blow, only the five-star Sentinel had its body warped slightly—yet it could still swing its sword.

As for the three-star Sentinel, with its agility and powerful energy cannons, the chance of landing a hit on it had dropped drastically.

At this moment, its energy bullets had already cracked her barrier, ready to shatter at any moment.

Nana furrowed her brows tightly. She glanced back—the door was still sealed shut. Silvanus showed no sign of progress.

The two Sentinels weren’t chasing after him at all. Even though she still didn’t know the real reason... Nana looked down at the unconscious Mira, her eyes narrowing, gaze turning cold.

She could run. As long as she didn’t have a burden.

Only Silvanus would be foolish enough to carry dead weight. And Mira was a Saintess—if she was useless, then there was no need for her to hold that exalted position.

Nana didn’t even hesitate. She decided to throw Mira out to buy herself more time.

As long as she found a hiding spot, she could stall until Silvanus discovered an exit.

"Boom! Bang!"

At that moment, their shield completely shattered. Without a hint of hesitation, Nana hurled Mira straight toward the three-star Sentinel.

At the same time, Nana shot off like an arrow. The three-star Sentinel immediately chased after her, while red beams swallowed Mira. A few scattered beams continued searching for Nana’s silhouette.

Thin streams of energy—like long needles—launched outward, shooting straight toward Mira’s airborne body, ready to pierce her into a sieve before she even hit the ground!

Everything seemed to slow down. Just as the energy beams were about to strike Mira’s body, her eyes suddenly snapped open!

But at this moment, her eyes held neither black nor white—only a radiant silver.

At the same time, light burst from her body like sunlight, engulfing everything in its brilliance.

"Boom!"

The shockwave shook the earth, rocks trembling and crashing down. Nana could barely stay on her feet. She cautiously peeked out from her hiding place, eyes widening in astonishment.

The explosion was so powerful that it sent the five-star Sentinel crashing to the ground, its body twisted as if about to be flattened into a sheet. The three-star Sentinel was blasted back, nearly disappearing from their line of sight.

And now, Mira floated in midair, her silver hair and cloak whipping violently in the wind. She seemed to be enduring some kind of agony. Strange tassel-like strands—resembling hair, yet far thicker—began to emerge from her: sprouting from her temples, from her cheeks, even piercing through her back and wrapping around her body. Mira’s face was changing as well, her features softened into something surreal, her limbs shrinking unnaturally small compared to the mass of tendrils erupting from her form. It was as if she were about to transform into an entirely different creature.

At that moment, the three-star Sentinel shot back into the scene like a streak of light. Its body darted forward like a falcon diving. Its arms and legs folded neatly together, forming a sleek, elegant shape. Its other "hands" shot outward, separating from its main body and swirling through the air before fully detaching. Encircling Mira as their center point, dozens of gun barrels aimed inward. Red beams lit up, forming a web of light—like a spider weaving its trap around its prey.

Then—fire!!

The Sentinel’s "guns" had never made a sound when firing. At most, there was the faint whisper of air. The only authentic sound came when the projectiles collided with their target.

The needle-thin streams of energy shot toward Mira all at once. Some were blocked by the light radiating from her body, others pierced straight through her.

But what spilled out was not the red of blood— it was a gold-colored liquid.

Mira opened her mouth and screamed, the sound like the cry of an enraged bird. At the same time, the long tendrils covering her body suddenly writhed and surged upward. They extended endlessly, lashing against the detached gun barrels surrounding her. Each strike triggered a string of violent explosions in the air, sending shockwaves rippling through the surroundings.

Other tendrils moved with precision, propelling Mira through the sky like a jellyfish drifting through water—only far, far faster.

But the three-star Sentinel was not slow either. Mira darted wildly through the air, dodging while smashing apart the floating gun barrels. The ones that remained intact pursued her relentlessly, like an army that knew no exhaustion.

Wherever the two forces passed, explosions erupted nonstop—giant mushroom clouds blooming from the ground as everything was drowned under dust, heat, rubble, and the collapse of surrounding structures.

This chaos was certainly not something Nana wanted. She could only curse under her breath, then sprint toward the edge of the second floor, running without pause. Perhaps only by reaching the lowest level could she temporarily escape this terrifying chase.

As for Silvanus, he was in the center of the battlefield right now. He could only pray for his own luck.

Nana narrowed her eyes, leaping off the second floor, though she didn’t forget to glance up at the battle raging above.

By now, Mira had transformed into something entirely different. Her hair was still silver, but each strand had thickened, appearing oddly layered, almost leather-like—strange and sturdy. The tendrils sprouting all over her back had begun growing feathers.

Her body had shrunk further, her head becoming more delicate, while her eyes had grown larger and razor-sharp like a bird’s. Light radiated from her so intensely that it illuminated a massive portion of the city.

The wounds peppering her body continued to leak bright golden liquid, yet they were healing on their own, constantly regenerating.

The Sentinel wasn’t faring any better. Its rhombus-shaped body was filled with holes—sites where the gun barrels had detached, likely numbering in the hundreds.

But now, Mira had destroyed nearly all of them, though its attacks hadn’t slowed in the slightest.

No matter what— The intruder must be eradicated from this land!
