Days passed quickly, and eventually, Alex had to return to the university and resume attending classes.
He had talked to his parents some time ago and learnt that Emily had finally woken up; she was no longer in any pain, but she wasn’t able to absorb mana due to the current state of her soul sea; if she tried absorbing mana, everything would leak out.
This made the girl get depressed, but Freda took the job of cheering her up. They even told her that Mr Chen promised to help her fix her soul sea.
This news had helped to improve Emily’s mood quite a lot and she was finally able to interact normally instead of sulking all day.
For now, she wasn’t aware that she had awakened two elements. Alex’s mana was still keeping the elements of the chaos element hidden and Alex planned to keep this secret to himself until he finished gathering all of the items needed to fix Emily’s soul sea.
Back at Brandvel Magic University. Since Alex and Eric attended most of the classes together, he was able to get Eric’s notes and get up to speed on what had been taught while he was away.
Eric would usually come over to his place to help Alex with the notes or give them to him before he left the university after classes. As for classes that he didn’t attend with Eric, he would directly meet with the instructors if he had any questions.
Since he had managed to get first place in the assessment twice, the instructors had favourable impressions of him and were more than willing to answer his questions.
Maria was still helping Alex look for the space element essence stone through the missions, but there wasn’t any news yet.
Alex didn’t fail to go to the Union Core Centre every day after attending classes to ask if there was any progress yet.
Finally, after two months, a space element essence stone was finally found by one of the explorers who was trying to complete the mission.
And as expected, it was being guarded by a space elemental spirit. Fortunately, the space elemental spirit wasn’t fully matured yet and was only as strong as a Sage rank mage.
The explorer who had found the location of the space element essence stone was only at the Master mage rank, so he immediately went to report to the Union Core Centre and claimed the one million Zen reward while Maria personally led a group to go retrieve the essence stone.
"Here’s the essence stone and your card, Mr Chen," Maria said with a smile as she handed the essence stone and the Union card back to Alex.
There was still a large sum in the black card since they had only spent a few million for information brought by different explorers, it was only right to return it after the mission was finally completed.
As for the corpse of the space elemental spirit, Maria kept it; there was no need to give it to Mr Chen.
And Alex didn’t mind either. Maria was the one who killed the elemental spirit, so the corpse was rightfully hers.
"Are you sure that you don’t want to take the reward?" Alex asked as he collected the essence stone and card from Maria.
Maria shook her head. "Don’t worry about it, I’m happy to be of help." She said.
Alex didn’t say anything else and left the building.
He now had one of the items he needed to help Emily. The items remaining now were the chaos element essence stone, a soul jewel, and a void eye.
He already had clues of where he could find the three items; he just had to make up time to go get them.
The biggest problem was still the soul jewel that was with the Dark Union, he still hadn’t thought of a way to retrieve the soul jewel.
He could already tell that the soul jewel was an important item for the Dark Union, and only those with high standing would know about its location, so capturing any random member to question them wouldn’t work.
He would either have to earn their trust and make them take him to the soul jewel or he would have to find the location himself. Both options were equally difficult for obvious reasons.
He has a terrible history with the Dark Union, and finding the location of the soul jewel by himself was nearly impossible.
He decided that he would leave the matter of the soul jewel for the time being and focus on the void eye and chaos element essence stone. Since the Saint mages were already aware of the two undiscovered elements and the shadow monarch had suggested that he look for Femi, then maybe finding the chaos element essence stone wouldn’t be too difficult.
As for the void eye, he would need to go to the third continent and ask for the Saint who was rumoured to have one.
In the meantime, Alex focused on attending classes and farming exp points.
It was currently somewhere around the afternoon. The sun was high in the sky and the air was hot.
Alex, who was in his mask and robe, was currently farming exp points in a large forest. He went around, killing magic beasts of different ranks without any difficulty.

He had used up almost everything when he crafted the ultimate lightning prison, he estimated that it would take him one or two more months before he would be able to gather enough exp points for another Saint rank spell.
Alex had thought about crafting spells for the other ranks below the Saint rank after realising that he didn’t have any spells for the ranks after the Grand Archmage rank.
He abandoned that idea almost instantly though, spells weaker than the Saint rank wouldn’t be any use against the reason why he was crafting Saint rank spells.
And anything weaker than those reasons could easily be taken care of with his physical strength.
Alex withdrew his system profile and just stared into space. He was currently standing on a thick tree branch that was several meters above the ground.
At this moment, the wind suddenly picked up as a particular space in the air began to fracture. Cracks began to appear in that space, like cracks appearing on a mirror, and after just a few seconds.
Crack!!!
The sound of glass shattering resounded through the air as something Alex was very similar to formed in the air.
It was a crack!
Alex’s eyes flashed upon seeing this, and he immediately jumped to a taller tree branch to get a better look at the crack.
Seconds after the crack appeared, a figure walked out of it and gazed directly at Alex with two vertical eyes.
It was a Void Knight!
Not just any Void knight, it was the same Void Knight that Alex had encountered the last time in Balon City.
"We meet again," the voice of the Void Knight sounded through the air, its silver armour glistening under the sunlight.
"I was beginning to think everything you said was a bluff, didn’t think you’d dare to come back," Alex replied with a look of excitement under his mask, his eyes burning with anticipation.
The last time that he faced the Void Knight, he was almost helpless and could only run. Now, he was different.
He had prepared so much and couldn’t wait to know the difference between himself and the Void Knight!
The vertical eyes of the void knight narrowed into a near single line after hearing Alex’s words.
"This time, I’ll make sure that you die." It said before drawing out its thin sword and charging at Alex.
’Yes, come!’ Alex thought, his body trembling slightly due to excitement when he saw that sword.
His eyes glowed with silver white light under his mask as stars of the space element appeared around him rapidly.

At the same time, Alex shifted from the place where he was standing previously as the Void Knight appeared there and swung down with its sword.
Wooosh!!
The sound of the sword slashing through the air could be heard as a white sword light flew out and chopped off the branch on which Alex was previously standing, the white light kept going and cutting other trees in half.
By now, Alex’s space sword had already formed and he immediately slashed at the Void Knight with his full strength.
The void knight saw this and slashed out with its sword, sending an attack of its own to meet Alex’s attack.
