Alex was prepared, his eyes were keenly observing the rubbles below for the Knight’s appearance.

The vertical eyes of the Void Knight stared at Alex’s space sword with a surprised glint, stunned that its thin sword wasn’t able to slice through it.

Realising that running away was pointless, the Void Knight slashed at the sword fragments in an attempt to destroy them.

Loud sounds rang out and sparks flew through the air as the Void Knight knocked away the sword fragments but quickly realized that this wouldn’t also help because the fragments would just come back to attack it again.

Alex on the other hand, obviously wasn’t just going to stand there and watch the Void Knight deflect his attacks. He prepared to move in while the other party was busy with the sword fragments.

But just as Alex was about to make his move, the Void knight disappeared and reappeared some distance away from its previous location.

Its method of disappearing was very similar to when Alex used Void Walk, this caused Alex to be surprised.

Right after the Void Knight reappeared, Alex controlled the sword fragments towards it. Instead of dodging or deflecting like usual, the Void Knight raised its free hand and pointed its palm at the incoming sword fragments.

The thousands of sword fragments that were rushing toward it instantly froze in mid air, they all trembled in place as if trying to break free from an invisible force but none were able to advance even an inch further.

He was shocked by this, he realized that he had lost control of the sword fragments and could no longer command them.

Alex immediately gave up on retrieving the fragments and charged at the Void Knight with the other half of the space sword.

The Void Knight turned to face Alex and moved its hand with which it was using to restrict the sword fragments toward him. Alex instantly regained control of the fragments but he was now the target of the Void Knight’s strange ability.

"Freeze,"

The Void Knight uttered. Alex instantly started to feel the space around him turning stiff as if he had entered an invisible quake sand.

’Blink,’ but before the ability of the Void Knight could trap him, Alex’s eyes turned silver white, he used Blink to disappear in the nick of time and appeared behind the Void Knight, already slashing down with the half space sword.

The Void Knight was stunned by this, Alex had appeared too suddenly and it wasn’t prepared.

In a desperate attempt to avoid serious damage from Alex’s strange sword, the Void Knight shifted its body and welcomed Alex’s sword with the shoulder plate of its silver armour.

Alex’s sword slammed into the shoulder of the Void Knight with terrifying force, the sound of the collision was deafening as the Void Knight shot down from the sky like a meteor and crashed into the ground with great force.

The ground that was already in a ruined state trembled as the Void Knight crashed into it. Sending chunks of earth and pieces of tree flying into the air, a huge cloud of dust rose into the air as the body of the Void Knight created a massive crater in the ground.

Unwilling to wait for the other party to get up, Alex waved his other hand casually and sent a strong gust of wind that cleared out the cloud of dust.

He was now able to properly see the Void Knight inside the crater on the ground, Alex was stunned to see that the other party was totally fine; not even a single dent could be seen on its armour after Alex’s attack connected.

He knew how powerful the space sword was, it could cut through almost anything with ease!

For the armour of the Void Knight to remain completely fine even after taking a direct hit, Alex could already tell that it would be difficult for him to defeat the Void Knight with his sword.

This armour was without a doubt one of the few things that the space sword couldn’t cut through.

Meanwhile, the Void Knight got up and stood inside the crater while staring at Alex in the air. It silently patted its armour where Alex’s sword had landed before shooting into the air and using the strange ability again to vanish.

Alex’s eyes flashed. Due to this ability’s similarity to Void Walk, Alex was able to sense the Void Knight approaching from the side.

He immediately used Void Walk and moved to a different location.

"Not so fast!"

But before Alex could go too far, the Void Knight appeared beside him and slashed down with its thin sword.

The thin sword cut into the white space of Alex’s Void Walk easily, interrupting Alex’s escape before going for Alex.

Alex wasn’t shocked by this, he already knew that the sword of the other party could cut into his white space, so he was able to react properly to this attack.

He paused his steps and shifted back while his eyes changed colours under the mask.

Alex disappeared with a silver flicker and appeared several meters away from the Void Knight. At the same time, his eyes glowed with black light as black lightning cracked around his body.

In the blink of an eye, thousands of black stars cracking with black lightning filled the air and formed into a hundred black star Links.

’Ultimate lightning prison,’ Alex thought and the hundred star Links immediately moved out and surrounded him and the Void Knight.

The Void Knight was confused by this but before it could even decide on what to do, the star Links had already formed a cage of black lightning Links around an area of five hundred meters and cut the space inside the cage away from the outside world.

Lightning chains appeared from different angles of the lightning cage and shot toward the Void Knight like live snakes.

The knight reacted quickly, dodging the first few lightning chains before attempting to escape with its space shifting ability.

But the rest of the chains suddenly picked up speed, instantly surpassing the speed of the Void Knight.

They wrapped around its body before it could disappear and firmly restricted its limbs in the air so it wasn’t able to move.

After which powerful lightning current rushed into the Knight’s body, causing the constant sounds of crackling lightning to be heard.

But to Alex’s surprise, the Void Knight didn’t react to the lightning that was rampaging through its body.

It just stayed in mid-air, suspended by the lightning chains and silently gazed at Alex’s mask.

’It isn’t affected by lightning, just how strong is its lightning tolerance?’ Alex thought to himself, finding it unbelievable.

Even a Saint rank mage with the lightning element would not be able to take the powerful current from those lightning chains without taking some damage but the Void Knight looked completely fine.

"You really prepared so much for this moment, didn’t you?" The Void Knight voiced out after a while. It tried to move its limbs but realised that the strength of the lightning chains wasn’t something that it could overcome physically.

"I see that lightning has no effect on you, let’s see if this will work." Alex said as he made the space sword float in front of him.

Since the knight was currently unable to move, he would finally be able to attack the part of its body that wasn’t protected by the armour.

But before Alex could send out the space sword, the voice of the knight sounded.

"Naive,"

The next moment, the space around it started to twist as if space was folding. The body of the knight started to overlap with the folding space and began to seem transparent as if it was fading.
