Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors-Chapter 295: Existence Zero
The next second, dozens of silver white stars appeared around Alex, filling the underground hall with their brightness. The number of stars was so many that the mages of the Dark Union froze in shock upon seeing them.
The stars proceeded to form several star patterns before connecting into six star constellations.
The mages in yellow robes stared at the star constellations around Alex in horror, their eyes and mouths opened wide.
"S-six star constellations...a Grand Archmage!"
The Master mage rank amongst them managed to voice out in extreme disbelief. Wasn’t this kind supposed to be a Core rank mage, how is he casting a spell at the Grand Archmage rank?!
But Alex didn’t let them be confused for long as he instantly thought of a spell.
’Existence Zero,’
Upon thinking of the spell, tiny silver particles flew out of the star constellations and approached the mages and dark beasts that were rushing toward Alex, intending to rip him to shreds.
The tiny particles surrounded their bodies like fireflies hovering around light, after which...they vanished along with the mages and dark beasts.
There wasn’t any grand scene or earth-shattering commotion; the mages and dark beasts disappeared without a trace, along with the silver white particles.
They were dead, and not even their corpses were left.
Alex’s eyes returned to normal as he gazed at the spots where the mages had been standing previously. He then turned and looked behind him. The dark beasts were gone, but everything still looked normal, only he, the unconscious Eric, and the woman were left inside the underground hall.
Alex nodded, satisfied with the effect of the spell. Existence zero was one of the space spells that he refrained from using during sparring and farming exp. The reason was simply that it would erase whatever Alex used it on from existence; they would simply disappear like they never existed in the first place.
He was not sure if the space around the target collapsed or they were simply teleported to an unknown place, whichever one it was, Alex didn’t really care as long as they never came back.
Now that he had dealt with the members of the Dark Union, Alex grabbed Eric and the unconscious woman and then left the underground hall.
Some time later, the three of them could be seen under the shade of a huge tree. Alex was sitting with his back resting against the tree while Eric and the woman were sleeping on the soft grass.
There were no magic beasts around, Alex had made sure of that and this place was a bit close to Brandvel City.
Alex stared at the leaf on one of the branches while wondering when these two were going to wake up.
Not long after he thought of that, Eric woke up. Since he was a mage, it wasn’t surprising that he woke up before the woman.
Eric’s eyes opened slowly upon waking up. He looked at the grass, and a look of confusion could be seen in his gaze as he tried to recall where he was. He quickly remembered that they had been captured by people from the Dark Union and they were trying to force Alex to join them before suddenly passing out.
At the thought of this, mana exploded from Eric’s body and he jumped to his feet, his curved daggers appearing in his hands.
"Alex!" He called out in worry as he looked around, unknowingly backing Alex, the unconscious woman, and the tree.
Alex "..."
"Calm down, we aren’t in danger anymore." Alex’s calm voice sounded from behind Eric.
The boy sharply turned around and saw Alex resting against the tree with a lazy look on his face; next to him was the woman, who was still sleeping soundly.
Eric "..."
His mind was blank as millions of question marks floated through his head. Alex didn’t say anything and allowed the boy to recover on his own, which Eric soon did.
He first returned his daggers to his storage device before going to sit beside Alex.
"What happened? How did we get here? Where are the people of the Dark Union?" Eric asked in a single breath. He remembered that they were trying to make Alex join them, but something had suddenly hit him from behind, and he had passed out; he didn’t know what happened afterwards.
Alex had expected these questions and had prepared an answer before Eric woke up.
"Some mages suddenly appeared and knocked us out, when I woke up, we were already here. I believe they were Union explorers and must have captured the people of the Dark Union." Alex said with a straight face.
A look of surprise appeared on Eric’s face before turning into one of joy.
"So that’s why I passed out suddenly. Thank goodness that they came, they would have forced you into becoming a member of the Dark Union." Eric sighed before turning to look at the unconscious woman who seemed to be waking up.
Alex had already removed the ropes that were used to restrain her, so she was able to move properly as she woke up. Her eyes immediately flashed with clarity upon waking up, and her gaze instantly fell on Alex.
A look of fear instantly appeared in her eyes, and her mouth opened, but before she could say anything, Alex made a shushing gesture, indicating for her to shut up.
The reason was that she had seen Alex knock out Eric before coming to knock her out.
"Don’t be afraid, we’re safe now. The Union explorers saved us." Eric said upon noticing the fearful look on the woman’s face.
"The Union explorers?" The woman asked in confusion.
Eric nodded and proceeded to tell the woman exactly what Alex had told him. The woman looked at Alex with confused eyes after listening to Eric, that clearly wasn’t what happened.
She saw it, Alex was the one who knocked Eric out, not some new mage.
She wondered why Alex didn’t want to tell Eric the truth, but looking at Alex, his expression was clearly warning her to shut up.
The woman gulped, it was none of her business if Alex lied to his friend. What mattered was that she was still alive, safe, and the scums of the Dark Union were not here.
"Since you’re awake, we don’t have to look after you anymore. Eric, let’s go back." Alex said as he stood up.
"Wait, we can’t just leave her here in the middle of nowhere. What if a magic beast finds her?" Eric voiced out.
Alex looked at him and then the woman, he had to agree with what Eric said. After all, this woman wasn’t a mage and wouldn’t be able to defend herself against even an unranked magic beast.
"Do you want to come with us?" Alex asked the woman.
The latter looked at Alex and then at Eric. Although she was suspicious of Alex, Eric seemed like a nice kid and considering that they had somehow rescued her, they probably weren’t bad people.
Generally, it was a safer option to follow them than to be on her own in the wild.
"Mm," she nodded and stood up.
The three of them started their journey back to Brandvel City.
On their way, Eric interacted with the woman. They found out from her that she was from a town located in the far West of Brandvel City and was kidnapped by the Dark Union some weeks ago. She had actually been missing for weeks and left her younger siblings alone.
As for why she was kidnapped or what had happened to her during those weeks with the members of the Dark Union, she didn’t think it was appropriate to tell these kids even though they were mages.
Eric consoled her, saying that her siblings were fine and she would meet them soon.
He also introduced themselves to her. They were explorers as well as students of Brandvel Magic University.
The woman was surprised to hear that they were explorers, despite how young they were. She was even more shocked to learn that they were students at Brandvel Magic University.
After all, she had heard of the university before and how many mages from her town wanted to attend it.
They reached Brandvel City some time later and the duo parted ways with the woman. Before she left, Alex advised her not to say a word of what had happened to anyone.
They couldn’t be sure who was a member of the Dark Union; it was better not say anything unless she wanted to be kidnapped again.
He also gave her some money to help her return to her town and maybe get a thing or two, the woman finally left after that.
Now, left with Eric, they made their way to the Union Core Centre. On the way, Alex gave Eric a similar warning.
Not to talk about what happened today to anyone, not even his family members. Eric didn’t think much of it and promised to keep everything to himself; the members of the Dark Union had been captured after all, so there wasn’t a need to report the incident.
