Chapter 245: 233 Chapter: Attend Your Classes Well! (First Update)

She only overheard half the conversation, and Yi Luowa was feeling a bit sulky. The teacher was giving a lecture up front, but she sneakily took out her phone and sent Tong Airui a text: "I saw Su Qing at school today. She was with some guy."

Tong Airui had just finished a meeting, read the text, glanced at the time, and replied with four words: "Pay attention in class!"

Yi Luowa pursed her lips and put her phone back into her bag.

At noon, after school was dismissed, Tong Airui called and said he was busy today, so she’d have to come over by herself.

After hanging up, Yi Luowa began to overthink. She felt Tong Airui had been acting a little unusual ever since *that thing* last night hadn’t gone well. Thinking back to his dejected expression from last night, Yi Luowa sighed as well. She figured it was either her who messed things up, Tong Aino who startled him, or he was genuinely too nervous. She went through all the possibilities in her head.

In fact, Tong Airui was a little worried himself. After the meeting, he called in Doctor Dao.

"Dao, I have this friend..." Tong Airui pinned the issue on an imaginary person and explained it to Doctor Dao.

Doctor Dao smiled knowingly, "Captain, this is perfectly normal. No matter if it’s a man or a woman, they often get nervous the first time."

"I’m a doctor, so I definitely know more than you do. You... you just tell your friend not to put too much pressure on themselves. In a bit, I’ll get you some materials for your friend to look over carefully," Doctor Dao said with a laugh.

"Okay, you go ahead."

Doctor Dao took the hint, chuckling as he left the office. Really, it’s obvious who he’s talking about—himself, ha!

Doctor Dao worked quickly. Not long after, he delivered two DVDs.

Tong Airui looked at the DVDs, chuckled, and put them in a drawer.

Now reassured it’s not a real problem, Tong Airui was in a much better mood. Checking the time, he called Yi Luowa again.

"Where are you?" His voice was tinged with good humor.

"I’m almost at the auto factory." Yi Luowa could tell he was in good spirits and teased him with a smile, "I’m hungry. Did you save me some food?"

"I’m heading to the factory to wait for you. We’ll eat together over there."

"Oh," Yi Luowa replied.

Their cars arrived at the factory almost at the same time. Tong Airui was the first to get out, opening the car door for Yi Luowa. The first thing Yi Luowa did as she stepped out was observe his expression; seeing that he was much more relaxed than in the morning, she took his hand with a laugh.

Tong Airui smiled, "I asked them to prepare a private meal for you; it’s all your favorites."

"And here I was looking forward to the usual four dishes and a soup. Why the special treatment?"

"Suddenly didn’t feel like letting you eat with everyone else. Too many people over there. If you walk into the cafeteria, all those pairs of eyes staring at you? You won’t be able to eat properly."

Yi Luowa shot him a knowing look. She understood his little possessive streak better than anyone.

"Captain Tong, I only have one class tomorrow afternoon. Just one. Tonight, I want to stay here and work a bit more; otherwise, who knows when we’ll finish building this car?"

"Alright, I’ll keep you company. I have a small meeting this afternoon, but after that, I’ll come over," Tong Airui agreed readily, almost too readily, leaving Yi Luowa pleasantly surprised.

He glanced at her once and led her into a private dining room.

After lunch, Tong Airui dropped her off at the workshop. Looking at the progress the workers had made overnight, Yi Luowa grinned, "So quick! At this pace, we can finish half a month ahead of schedule."

One of the older workers came over, "Luowa, you can just assign the work to us going forward. No need to come here every day. We’ll make sure to complete everything with quality and ahead of schedule."

Yi Luowa clasped her hands behind her back and smiled warmly at the worker, "Uncle, if you’ve already done everything, then what’s the point of me coming here? It’s fine; I’m young, I’ve got energy and stamina. As long as you all don’t dislike me, we can work together."

"Why would we ever dislike you? We wouldn’t even dare—you’re always welcome."

Seeing how animated they were in conversation, Tong Airui cleared his throat lightly. "Engineer Yi, I’ll head out now. Don’t wear yourself out; I’ll come back later to check your progress."

Yi Luowa suppressed a smile, "You should leave soon; otherwise, I won’t be able to get started."

After shooing Tong Airui off, Yi Luowa threw herself into the work with the team, starting production on two cars simultaneously to save time.

Once his meeting was over, Tong Airui joined them at the workshop, donning overalls. But far from speeding things up, his arrival slowed everything down—whatever Yi Luowa worked on, he’d insist on helping, afraid she’d overexert herself.

The older workers exchanged glances, quickly catching on: this wasn’t someone here to work; he was clearly here to flirt. A few snuck outside for a smoke, others suddenly complained of stomach aches and went to the restroom, and the remaining workers? Seeing no escape, they quietly slinked away.

The large workshop, bustling with dozens of workers earlier, was suddenly left with just the two of them. Yi Luowa tossed a polished part onto the workbench and smacked Tong Airui’s arm, "Don’t come anymore, got it!"

Tong Airui rubbed his arm, his face full of grievance. "Why don’t you want me to come?"

"Look around—does it seem like there’s anyone left here?"

Tong Airui glanced around the empty workshop and laughed, "Not bad. Everyone’s very perceptive—real veterans indeed!"

"I quit!" Yi Luowa pouted and pulled off her gloves.

"Really quitting?" Tong Airui leaned closer and nudged her lightly. "Then let me take you to see something good—I promise, you’ll love it."

"How could you have anything good?" Yi Luowa rolled her eyes disdainfully.

"You’ll know when we get there." Tong Airui removed his gloves, grabbed her hand, and led her to the changing room.

Outside the workshop, under the eaves, a group of older workers stood in a neat line. Seeing the couple finally emerge, they hurried back inside.

Yi Luowa, still fuming, changed clothes and got into the car. Tong Airui chuckled and patted Dapeng’s shoulder. "Head to the rear courtyard."

Dapeng promptly started the engine.

"Dapeng, how’s the cleaning over there?" Tong Airui wrapped his arm around Yi Luowa’s shoulder and asked.

"I checked—not bad. Those little punks did a decent job; it’s quite clean."

"Did they put the little thing in place?"

"Yep, right at the entrance—you won’t miss it."

Yi Luowa’s curiosity was piqued instantly. "There really is something? What is it?"

"You’ll see once we get there," Tong Airui replied mysteriously with a grin.

Yi Luowa blinked at him. "Fine, but at least tell me where we’re going."

Tong Airui lifted his thumb and lightly stroked her cheek, smiling as he said, "The rear courtyard is where I live—though I don’t go often, I still consider it our home. Once you start working at Divine Eagle, we’ll live there. On holidays, we’ll go back to Duke’s Mansion or the estate. When we arrive, take a look and see if there’s anything we need to add. I’ll have them buy it."

"So you mean we get to have a little home to ourselves?" Yi Luowa’s eyes sparkled with anticipation.

"That’s right. Happy?"

"Very happy!" Yi Luowa nodded enthusiastically, and when the car entered Divine Eagle Courtyard, she laughed and asked, "Does anyone else live in the rear courtyard?"

Dapeng chimed in with a laugh, "Ma’am, the rear courtyard is reserved for the Captain—of course, no one else lives there. But not far from it is the family quarters, though they have to use a different entrance. Only cars belonging to the rear courtyard can enter through the main gate."

"So Captain Audrich likes special treatment, huh?" Yi Luowa smiled as she looked out of the window, pointing to rows of neatly parked combat vehicles. "When our car is done, let’s park it here for a bit of a show."

"You were just saying I like special treatment, and now you want to hog the spotlight by parking that big fellow here?" Tong Airui chuckled.

"That’s not special treatment—it’s a command vehicle," she argued.

"Alright, whatever you say!"

Noticing how agreeable he was today, Yi Luowa raised an eyebrow. "Captain Tong, I’ve discovered a serious problem!"

Tong Airui froze for a moment. "What problem?"

"Everything I’ve said so far today has fallen flat multiple times."

Realizing what she meant, Tong Airui laughed. "Engineer Yi is suggesting I start bickering with you again?"

"I prefer you being like this," Yi Luowa said, smiling as she pushed away his face.

"Ma’am, the road we’re on now heads straight to the rear courtyard—make a note of it so you won’t get lost next time," Dapeng said, glancing back at Yi Luowa.

Yi Luowa gave an OK gesture. "Anything else I’m bad at, but remembering routes? That’s my expertise."

Dapeng laughed. "Naturally! You’re a racer—your navigation skills must be top-notch. Ma’am, I heard from Fourth Brother that they’re planning to form a racing team at Divine Eagle. When that happens, keep me in mind."

Yi Luowa shook her head. "You’ll have to talk to your Fourth Brother about that—I don’t have the authority!"

"Fourth Brother said that when it’s time to pick people, your word will be final, and you’ll be the team leader."

Yi Luowa turned to Tong Airui. "What are you plotting?"

"Nothing much. Racing’s your forte—making you the team leader just seems right. Let me tell you, this is a highly honorable position! It won’t just enrich the team’s leisure life but could also earn Divine Eagle prestige on a global scale."

"Quite the lofty pitch," Yi Luowa said with a laugh, shaking her head.

The car soon arrived at the rear courtyard, and Tong Airui took Yi Luowa’s hand as they stepped out.

Yi Luowa marveled at their little "home." Though the rear courtyard was merely a three-story villa, its presence among the towering buildings gave it an undeniable air of dominance.

At the entrance, troops armed up to the teeth greeted Tong Airui with salutes. Seeing them glance at Yi Luowa, Tong Airui barked, "Salute your madam!"

"Good day, ma’am!" they roared, their voices loud enough to make Yi Luowa nearly cover her ears.

"Speak more softly to your madam in the future!" Tong Airui reprimanded them before leading her through the gate.

Inside the courtyard, everything was clean and orderly. Along the pathway, flowers and greenery adorned either side, and a grape trellis had been set up on the left, with stone tables and chairs beneath.

Yi Luowa pointed at the grapevine and quipped, "Captain Tong, you sure know how to live it up."

"It’s all the work of those little rascals. I count myself lucky to even stay here ten days a year," Tong Airui replied.

"Hello, Luowa!" Just as Tong Airui finished speaking, a cute, childish voice greeted her from the hall.
