Having received Duke Yorok’s approval, Yulster relaxed slightly and bowed respectfully:
"I understand."
Then, he looked towards Duke Yorok’s mental projection, his gaze showing a touch of hesitation.
Noticing his look, Duke Yorok asked,
"Yulster, is there anything else you wish to report?"
Yulster struggled with himself, first shaking his head, but ultimately nodding:
"Not... a report, per se, just some doubts."
"Doubts? What doubts."
Yulster considered his words carefully before speaking,
"Lord Yorok, after many months of investigation, we have been able to ascertain that the god behind the Northern Land bears no ill will towards the Nais Clan. Given such... why can’t our relationship with Them progress further?"
"Lord Eugenia has once again moved up the timetable for Holy Presence Day, but Lord Cosy still does not respond to us. Although it is despicable for Elder Maxim and others to pledge allegiance to the Blood Demon Duke, I believe we perhaps do indeed need to consider the worst-case scenario..."
Speaking, he glanced at Duke Yorok’s mental projection, swallowed nervously, and tentatively whispered,
"After all... not all slumbering gods eventually awaken..."
Duke Yorok frowned, and his projected aura suddenly intensified:
"Enough. Keep that thought to yourself and speak no more of it!"
The will of a legend descended, and Yulster’s projection wavered slightly, his form turning somewhat ethereal.
He shuddered, nearly kneeling under the pressure of the Legendary Bloodline.
Duke Yorok glanced at him and dissipated the pressure, commanding in a deep voice,
"You’re not wrong; perhaps the god behind Castel indeed harbors no ill will towards the Nais, but gods... after all, are gods, and before the gods, we are far too weak."
"There are many myths from the Bloodline Era, and many of those myths involve beings who were part of the Bloodline while concurrently holding other divine titles. We still do not know the details of that god, and we must act with extreme caution."
"Holy Presence Day is nearing, and even though Lord Cosy has yet to reply, our faith connection remains intact, which means They have not Fallen."
"Patience is key. Lord Cosy... will return."
Upon hearing Duke Yorok’s words, Yulster couldn’t help but ask,
"Lord Yorok, does this mean that even you no longer believe in Lord Eugenia’s prophecy?"
Duke Yorok remained silent.
After a long while, he sighed heavily,
"The will of the Great Elder and the Elder Council must be adhered to. I believe in Eugenia; Eugenia did indeed see a vision that suggested the possible demise of Lord Cosy, but the persistent connection of faith is an undeniable truth..."
"There are many interpretations of prophecy, perhaps Eugenia’s was flawed. The bond of faith is what truly matters. After all, we are Believers of the Stargazers, and with Holy Presence Day imminent, the closer we get, the more confidence we should have in our own god."
"If we ourselves do not believe, then perhaps Lord Cosy... may indeed never return."
After listening to Duke Yorok’s words, Yulster opened his mouth, but ultimately exhaled deeply:
"I understand."
Duke Yorok gave him a look and continued,
"Yulster, let these thoughts die in your heart. As your elder, I can understand your thoughts and forgive your mistakes, but the Elder Council won’t, nor will the Great Elder."
"We indeed aim to make our mark within the Returning Star Plan and rescue Eugenia, but it must be done in a reasonable manner."
"In the remaining month, continue to prepare for the Returning Star Plan and ensure the thorough severance between the Romany Duchy and the Roman Family."
"I recall you once knew Romannus a millennium ago. It’s timely that the thousand-year pact between that Lord and the Roman Family is drawing to a close. After the Ancestor’s Sword recognition ceremony, end the protection of Roman according to the agreement with my Nais Clan and return to Moon God Island."
"We do not know when Lord Cosy will return, but at the very least... the return of a Mythical Divine Artifact would, to some degree, enhance our strength."
Stirred by Duke Yorok’s words, Yulster felt a movement in his heart:
"The complete severance between the Romany Duchy and the Roman Family? Does... does the Elder Council intend to end Roman’s rule over Falling Star?"
Duke Yorok nodded slightly,
"That is a matter for the future. If we want to Dominate Falling Star Kingdom as Vadret controls the Coria Kingdom, we must elevate our own Royal Family. For this to happen, Roman must become a part of Falling Star’s history."
"Roman’s influence in Falling Star is simply too great. Even with declining family power, they can still contend with the Nais on prestige alone, and this is on top of Roman consecutively producing incompetent rulers."
"Supporting the Red Lilac Family is only transitional. Our ultimate goal is to sever Roman’s ties with Falling Star completely and take full control of the Falling Star Kingdom."
"Giving the Romany Duchy to Castel is a start. Although Count Castel also carries Roman Bloodline, his surname is Castel, and while he can be recognized by the Roman Sword, he will never become the Roman Family Master."
"The Roman Sword also has a strong aversion to all alien gods, except for Lord Romannus and Lord Cosy. Bestowing the Romany Duchy to her not only poses a small threat to Falling Star but will also further weaken Roman’s power, aiding us in supporting a new Royal Family in Falling Star in the future."
