Campus Ace Girl-Chapter 492 - 493 Master! Dead child, let me introduce you to Mr. Wang
Gu Anxi smiled. "Alright, I’ll give you a week off. I’ll cover your work."
If they really let Zhang NiuNiu become the boss, An Pu will be in total chaos!
Zhou Yunchen chuckled, took his car keys, and left.
Gu Anxi continued to sit there, sketching the design for the theater in Beicheng, rumored to be called COMO. After about half an hour, she received a phone call from an old acquaintance—Master Artist Xun Yi.
Gu Anxi answered the call, naturally addressing him as, "Master."
She listened to him speak for several minutes, then exclaimed in surprise, "Master, you’re coming to Beicheng?"
The master has always been a titan in the Italian architecture world. He rarely visits the mainland. Why would he come this time?
Master Artist Xun Yi calmly replied, "A Mr. Wang requested my assistance in selecting a suitable architectural design. I’ve already agreed."
Gu Anxi guessed instantly that it must be King Jingyao’s doing. She glanced at the drawing in her hand and chuckled. "Then, Master, you must give him your best assistance."
Master Artist Xun Yi paused. "And you? Aren’t you participating? This building has the potential to become an iconic landmark."
Gu Anxi answered vaguely, "Ah, I might not have the time."
Master Xun Yi chuckled. "Naughty!"
He paused before adding, "Alright, when I arrive in Beicheng, you must come and have a meal with Mr. Wang and me. No excuses."
He intended to introduce his cherished student, KO, to Mr. Wang!
KO was the pride of his life; he couldn’t allow her talents to go unrecognized.
Gu Anxi obediently replied, "Alright, Master. When you arrive, I’ll arrange a welcome dinner for you."
Master Xun Yi then asked about another old fellow. "Right, what about that shameless Old He? It’s been ages since I last saw him. We should all get together."
Gu Anxi readily agreed, "Okay, I’ll make sure both you, Master, and my mentor have a wonderful time."
Master Xun Yi huffed softly. "You mischievous child, with your countless names—An, Luo Lin... a whole messy bunch of them. In my opinion, your greatest talent lies in architecture! Yet, you’re so biased! Tell me, how many paintings have you done for that old man? That shameless fellow is constantly out there promoting his disciple, Luo Lin. And look at me, your poor master—hardly anyone even knows KO is my student! What’s more, you only spent a few months in Italy, and yet you were out drinking and racing cars with that crowd. You... how could you do this to me?"
Gu Anxi murmured an "Oh," listening attentively.
Sensing her meekness, Master Xun Yi gave a satisfied grunt. "It’s good that you recognize your mistake. When I arrive and meet Mr. Wang, I’ll personally recommend you to him. I refuse to believe a student I mentored could be inferior to those... others of questionable skill. You probably don’t know this, child, but some nouveau riche from who-knows-where offered me ten million, insisting I modify her work. It’s most likely for this design competition too."
Ten million... Only Tang Yuan could pull off something like that!
Gu Anxi thought silently, not saying much more, and skillfully, half-coaxing, half-deceiving, ended the call.
After hanging up, she continued sketching the remainder of the design. Midway, Uncle Bo called. Gu Anxi told him she was working overtime and would be home a bit late.
When she worked, she was incredibly focused and always determined to complete any task she undertook to the best of her ability.
What’s the point of just coasting on the KO name?
She was determined to show that insufferably proud and shameless older brother of hers just what she was capable of.
Gu Anxi finished the drawing, compressed the file, and sent it to the official email address set up by Secretary Wang.
Easily done!
Once everything was finished, she stretched lazily, only then noticing it was already half-past nine.
Her stomach rumbled a bit. She sighed. I’m going to get an earful from Uncle Bo when I get home.
Just as she walked into the outer secretarial office, the secretary said sweetly, "Director Gu, Dr. Bo has been waiting for you for two hours."
Gu Anxi paused, stunned for a moment, then saw Bo Xichen rising from the sofa.
She asked softly, "Have you been here long?"
He smiled. "Mm, I knew Director Gu was engaged in important matters, so I didn’t want to disturb you."
She clung to his arm, pouting coquettishly. "Keeping Dr. Bo company is also a grand undertaking."
Bo Xichen pinched her cheek lightly and pressed a small bag into her hand. Gu Anxi looked down and saw it was her favorite snack. A sweet feeling spread through her as she ate while following him into the elevator.
Once inside the elevator, she told him she had to cover a week of shifts at An Pu because Zhou Yunchen wanted to pursue a romantic interest.
Bo Xichen chuckled. "Who could he possibly be interested in dating?"
Gu Anxi made a playful face. "Someone you’d never guess." With that, she lowered her head and continued eating, looking thoroughly content.
Bo Xichen lowered his head, his voice somewhat hushed. "Shen Congwen?"
Gu Anxi looked up, her eyes wide with surprise. "Uncle, how are you so spot on?"
Bo Xichen chuckled but didn’t answer her question.
Actually, between Shen Congwen and Zhou Yunchen, he suspected Zhou Yunchen had initiated things. Shen Congwen hadn’t shown any such inclination before, but after Zhou Yunchen’s relentless pursuit... well, things had taken a turn. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Gu Anxi knew what he was thinking and whispered, "Shen Congwen is a woman, Uncle. Your thoughts are a bit naughty!"
"Is that so?" Bo Xichen raised an eyebrow, appearing not particularly concerned.
Gu Anxi added, "However, they haven’t made anything official yet."
Bo Xichen smiled. "Alright, let’s go get dinner."
The little cutie pie shot him a complaining look. "Such explosive news, Uncle, and you barely react!"
The elevator doors opened. He gently guided her out first with his hand, then chuckled. "Only you can get a reaction out of me."
She murmured an "Oh," obediently got into the car, and as she fastened her seatbelt, whispered, "Where are we going for dinner?"
"Let’s go to that restaurant we visited last time. You kept saying you wanted to go back, but then you got sick, and we never made it," Bo Xichen said, turning his head slightly with a smile.
Gu Anxi stared at his handsome face and replied, "Oh."
Bo Xichen chuckled softly, started the car, and only after pulling into traffic did he say, "You’ve been looking at me for almost a year now. Haven’t you had enough?"
Gu Anxi said cheekily, "If you were a little less handsome, I might just want to have a meal or go shopping with you, but..."
"Hm?" Bo Xichen squeezed her hand. "Why did you stop? What about the ’but’?"
Her face flushed, and she turned away. "I don’t want to say it. You’re shameless."
"Clearly, you’re the one having improper thoughts about me. How did that make me the shameless one?" he teased, playing with her small hand while driving.
Gu Anxi pulled her hand back. "I haven’t finished my snack yet."
Bo Xichen smiled but didn’t say anything more.
The car pulled up to an elegant, tasteful restaurant. Gu Anxi followed him obediently, her usual aloof public demeanor completely gone.
They had just chosen a table and sat down when they spotted familiar faces.
It was none other than Gu Mingzhu and Wang Jingchuan, deep in discussion.
Honestly, Gu Anxi felt she could guess with her knees what Gu Mingzhu was discussing. It was undoubtedly about the design proposal, trying to persuade Wang Jingchuan to put in a good word for her with that older brother of hers.
