Chapter 236: Chapter 236: Sub Classes

Professor Abraham raised an eyebrow, "You’re interested in Emotional Gemstones?"

"I heard that it could raise our Psychic power, could it not?" Selina said.

"It could. But learning to forge an Emotional Gemstone can be very challenging and it could put a lot of strain on your mentality. We do not recommend Battle Psychic to take this course.

Only those that specialized in creating Emotional Gemstones should take it. We call them Empath Psychics."

"Don’t worry, Professor. I know my limits." Selina said. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

"Very well. The course for creating Emotional Gemstones is called Empath Crystallization."

Professor Abraham passed a form to Selina, "If you want to attend it, fill in the form. All the other courses are also included in this form. Fill in all the courses you want to study then I will submit them to the Institute Council."

Becky took the Psycho-Cast class and a rare course called Supernatural Criminology. The second class explored how a Psychic could use their power to reveal the traces of a crime and other related detective skills.

Loretta also took Psycho-Cast as it would help her develop her Seer power. She took the Mental Projection course as Professor Abraham suggested.

Aurora was a caster. Her Chaos Magic was incompatible with Psychic Power but she took the Psycho-Cast also. Chaos Magic could easily impersonate Psychic Skill. After all, both branches had the same root. Just like how Chaos Control was very similar to Matter Deformation. She took Psycho Chemical as her sub class as Mater wanted to learn more about this world’s own version of Alchemy.

Evelynn also took the same classes as Aurora.

Cole took Psycho-Blade class and the same Supernatural Criminology as Becky. He needed the second class for his policeman career.

Ken Eliot also took Psycho-Blade. His second course was Supernatural Physiology. This sub class focused on strengthening the power of the Psychic. It was a very popular sub class for Psycho-Blade Psychic.

Jesse O’Shea didn’t know which one he should take. Out of everyone, he lacked the most experience.

"What do you think I should take, Miss Isles?" Jesse said.

Selina pondered for a few seconds. She also didn’t know what Jesse was good at. She could only ask Mater for help.

"What do you think, Mr. Mater?" Selina said.

The black cat jumped on Jesse’s shoulder and placed a paw on his head.

"Relax." The black cat meowed.

"He told you to relax." Selina translated it.

Jesse nodded and closed his eyes. Mater’s power enveloped. It was a sinister source of Chaos that caused Jesse’s stomach to churn. But he kept his cool.

"He should take Psycho-Cast as main class. The sub class should be Energy Projection. This one has a particular talent about it." The black cat meowed.

Selina fetched the forms for those two classes and gave it to Jesse. "Mater told me that you will be great at these."

"Oh... Okay." Jesse nodded. He was rather confused.

Clive Young chose Psycho-Slave. One of the few students in the class that chose this as their main class. His sub class was also Mental Projection, similar to Loretta.

Astrid took Psycho-Cast and Psycho Mechanic. As she should be.

The other mechanic, Miles, took Psycho-Blade and Psycho Mechanic.

Then there were Selina and Blanche.

Selina only wanted to take one main class and one sub class. But the black cat didn’t allow her.

He picked all the three main classes and five sub classes for Selina. The five sub classes were Empath Crystallization, Supernatural Physiology, Energy Projection, Mental Projection, and a weird class called Psycho Realization.

"Oh?" Professor Abraham noticed the last class Selina picked, "Why did you pick that one?"

Selina pointed at Mater, "My cat made me!"

Howard chuckled, "That is a very hard class. In the old days, people thought that it could become the fourth main branch of Psychic. Unfortunately, it was just too hard for Psychic to succeed in it."

Selina gulped. She looked at Mater.

"What? You don’t trust me?" The black cat growled.

"Of course, I trust you, Mr. Mater." She petted him aggressively.

"You better study hard." The black cat meowed.

"Haha!" Selina sweated profusely.

There was a reason why Mater chose that class. It was the only class that could build a foundation for Rank-3.

According to the Institute, Psycho Realization was an ability where a Psychic could manifest their true self into existence, creating a projection that could fight for you.

They weren’t wrong. But they picked a difficult path to go.

Psycho Realization was the same as what Mater would call as Chaos Avatar. It’s the unique ability that every rank-3 Chaos Users had.

It also manifested a ’true self’ like what the Psychic theorized. But instead of a projection, the Chaos User was supposed to fuse themself with it, not manifest it.

That was why Psychic had so much difficulty in mastering this ability. They rejected the core function that made the ability.

Mater didn’t find it too contradictory. The Psychic had a way to strengthen their power quickly. But they rejected it because of the fear of losing control.

Chaos was Chaos because you couldn’t control anything. Psychics tried to retain their mind. What they actually should be doing was revel within the Chaos.

Of course, that would lead them to total madness. But why reject madness? This black cat had been mad all his life and he didn’t find anything wrong with it.

So did Selina. She feasted upon other wraiths just like a Warlock. The pressure of it had no longer strained her mind. She was slowly becoming the Dark Queen that Mater always wanted her to be.

Blanche took the same class as Selina. These ’sisters’ were the most ambitious students in the class.

Oscar only took one main class and three sub classes. Even he didn’t dare to waste so much time and energy learning all those courses.

"You’re really something, Selina." Oscar said. There was no sarcasm to it.

But Selina’s ears were extremely itchy hearing that.

"It’s not like I want to! My cat made me!"

"Right..." Oscar obviously didn’t believe a word.
