Chapter 223: Breakfast Party

The Welsh mansion was filled with bliss on that morning as Mary, Maya, and Sandra, who had recently taken on the roles of COO, Sales Manager, and Marketing Manager at Bellory Inc.’s headquarters, had been residing there. This occasion marked the first time that all four ladies would gather for breakfast since Amy’s return from the hospital.

In the past, one or two of them would either leave early for work or wake up late due to late-night tasks from the previous evening. However, today was different as Rei, Anton, and Theo would also be joining them, bringing everyone together.

When Amy and Henry entered the dining room, they were greeted by the sight of everyone already gathered at the table. The couple was initially taken aback, but their surprise quickly turned into delight, as smiles spread across their faces upon seeing their loved ones.

"I had no idea we were having a breakfast party today. I should have informed Demi to prepare more dishes," Henry jokingly remarked.

"I wasn’t actually planning to be here. We apologize for not informing you, but it got late by the time we finished up some finishing touches at the branches. Sandra suggested that Anton and I stay here for the night since it’s closer than our own homes," explained Theo.

"No worries, Theo. I was just teasing. I’m genuinely thrilled to see everyone gathered here. It’s more lively this way. Over the past few days, everyone has been busy with the branch openings and the office being in full operation, so it’s usually just Amy and me here," Henry expressed with a smile.

Seated comfortably on the chair gracefully pulled out for her by Henry, Amy inquired of Theo, "How are the shops faring? Are they prepared for the opening?"

With a hint of excitement, Theo replied, "We conducted a comprehensive test run on all four initial branches that are scheduled to open within the next two weeks, and I’m pleased to report that all the appliances, security devices, and electrical systems are operating flawlessly. This week, we’ll be conducting tests on the remaining six branches."

Amy nodded approvingly, expressing her anticipation, "That’s wonderful news. I can’t wait to see them in action. By the way, I heard that you’ll also be overseeing the construction on my other property?"

Theo responded, "Ah, yes, that’s correct. While I’ll be collaborating with industry experts who possess relevant experience, I’ll personally serve as the project manager for the buildings. Rest assured, I’ll be overseeing the process diligently. It’s an excellent opportunity for me and my team, and we’re all thrilled about it," he concluded enthusiastically, taking a sip of his coffee.

Henry playfully teased, "Wow, it seems like my wife is getting the hang of being a CEO. I hope you won’t forget about me once you’re busy managing both companies. You’ll definitely be wealthier than me."

As he placed some sliced bacon onto Amy’s plate, Henry continued his jesting. Amy chuckled and responded, "What are you talking about? Handling the oil company? No way! It’s ’our’ oil company, and you’ll be in charge. I’ll be busy getting pregnant and taking care of our babies. Mary will handle Bellory, and Sandra will take care of the farm."

Laughter filled the room, but Mary quickly chimed in, "Wait a minute! Why me? What about my plans for having a baby?"

Everyone fell silent, directing their attention toward Mary and Anton. Breaking the silence, Henry asked bravely, "Are we going to hear wedding bells soon?"

Mary clarified, "That’s not what I meant! I’m just saying, what if I do get married and decide to have children too?"

"We’ll cross the bridge when we get there. But my decision is final. Once I get pregnant again, I’ll reduce my workload, enjoy my pregnancy, and ensure a safe journey without any miscarriage risks," Amy declared.

Maya interjected, offering her support, "Don’t worry, Mary. If that happens, I’ll help you run Bellory."

"No!" Amy, Mary, and Sandra said in unison, followed by laughter from everyone.

"We want you to focus on finding Mr. Right, Maya. You’re the youngest among us, and we want to make sure you find the perfect man," Sandra expressed.

"Absolutely! And that man will have to go through all of us before we give our blessing," Amy added, "Right, my love?" turning to Henry for approval.

Henry smirked, casting a glance at Theo, and replied, "Yes, love. If he makes a fool of Maya, he will regret he was even born," he jokingly remarked, forcefully stabbing his bread with a knife, causing a loud sound that startled Theo, who nearly choked on his food.

Mary who was seated next to him, offered tissues and asked, "Oh gosh, Theo, are you alright?"

Theo tersely replied, "Don’t mind me, I’m fine," while exchanging a meaningful glance with Henry, who wore a teasing smile.

"By the way, Amy, I’ll be moving out of the mansion once I find a place to stay," Maya announced.

Sandra reacted with surprise, "You’re leaving?"

With a cheerful tone, Maya explained, "I’m looking at some condominium units in the city, and I’ve already started checking them out. I’ll purchase one soon. I want to experience living on my own like a true adult. I just need to decide which one to buy."

Sandra expressed her feelings again, "You’re leaving... me?"

Maya playfully retorted, "Oh, come on, Sandra, grow up. You can live without me. Besides, Rei lives here. I’m sure you don’t want to come with me to my new house, do you?" Maya’s remark made Sandra blush, and everyone laughed.

Henry held Amy’s hand firmly, and they smiled at each other, cherishing the banter between their friends. Looking into each other’s eyes, they felt true happiness being surrounded by people who held a special place in their hearts.

It was such a perfect morning for a busy week ahead. Amy felt a little worried when she remembered the old saying – ’Every rose has its thorn’ which means ’Every good situation happens with misfortune’.

But she immediately dismisses the bad feeling thinking that as long as she has Henry, her family, and friends with her, she can overcome any misfortune that life throws at her.
