Clinging to Devoted Fiancé, Heiress Slays the World!-Chapter 779: Miss Ji, You Are Still as Interesting
When Gu Moqian said those words, his expression was distant and cold, exuding a sharp and commanding aura.
If it weren’t for William insisting on bringing Ji Wei as a condition, and his own intention to leverage the Charles family’s influence to investigate certain matters, he would never have compromised.
Ji Wei hadn’t expected Gu Moqian to already know about what happened at the Marine Pier, and for a moment, she was slightly startled.
But the way he displayed his possessiveness in front of another man made her heart inexplicably sweeten.
Unconsciously, Ji Wei raised her gaze to look at the man holding her. His deep and striking features were in no way inferior to those of foreigners, and even compared to Europeans, he lost nothing in terms of stature.
Gu Moqian’s presence was even more imposing. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Ji Wei pressed her lips together, looking at William, and spoke coldly, "My husband is right, Mr. William. I have absolutely no impression of you, so please don’t try to get overly familiar."
William was momentarily stunned, then touched his chin and broke into a grin. "Miss Ji, you’re still as amusing as ever."
Amusing?
This man must be a fool, couldn’t he tell she was mocking him?
Ji Wei couldn’t help but roll her eyes, averting her gaze with no intention of engaging further.
William did not press the matter and instead turned to Gu Moqian, saying, "Mr. Gu, if we’re to discuss business, why not move to the study first and let Miss Ji take a casual look around the villa?"
Ji Wei knew that Gu Moqian had come here with a purpose. She willingly pulled away from his embrace, tilted her face upward, and smiled, "You two take your time talking. I’ll wander around for a bit."
Gu Moqian raised his hand and gently brushed her fair and delicate cheek. His gaze softened as he said, "I’ll come find you soon."
"Alright."
Once the two entered the study, Ji Wei began to stroll around the villa, a butler-like figure trailing behind her quietly to attend to her if needed.
"Does Mr. William live here all the time?" Ji Wei asked as she walked forward.
"This villa was a gift from someone. Mr. William is just staying here temporarily," the man replied.
Ji Wei nodded in understanding.
William was a member of the Charles family, someone of significant status. It wasn’t unusual for people to curry favor by gifting a villa.
However, Ji Wei was a bit puzzled—how did Gu Moqian come to know this British playboy?
"Do you know when he’s leaving Rongcheng?" Ji Wei asked again.
"That... I’m not sure."
The villa was enormous. Ji Wei finished exploring the second floor before feeling tired of wandering further.
She returned to the living room, where a servant brewed her a cup of British black tea before stepping aside to standby.
Ji Wei lazily stirred the reddish-brown tea with a small spoon, her demeanor casual and relaxed. Before long, Gu Moqian and William emerged together.
"You’re done talking?" she asked, surprised, as she set down her teacup.
Gu Moqian nodded. "Yes, let’s go."
Hearing this, William spread his hands in disappointment and said, "Mr. Gu, are you really not going to stay for a meal with your wife?"
Gu Moqian cast a sidelong glance at William. "Having lunch with a man who’s eyeing my wife? I’d lose my appetite."
"What a pity! I had hoped to have you both try the fine wines I brought from Britain," William said with exaggerated regret.
Ji Wei chuckled lightly. "The Gu Family has its own vineyard in Britain, producing the finest wines. Missing your wine won’t be a loss at all."
William shrugged helplessly. "Alright then. I’ll see you both at Miss Ji’s birthday party in three days!"
Ji Wei looked slightly startled and glanced at Gu Moqian, as if silently asking: Why did you invite this person to the birthday party?
Gu Moqian signaled her with his eyes, indicating they’d discuss it outside.
