Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 118: Encountering Maxim Sinclair at the Hot Spring Hotel
"Why did Justin Huxley suddenly change his strategy?"
Assistant Collins shook his head with difficulty: "I am not sure about this. If you need, I can have someone investigate the reason."
Maxim Sinclair raised his right hand and tossed the water bottle in his hand into the trash can not far away: "No need, I’ll go and see for myself what exactly is going on."
"Okay, President Sinclair." Assistant Collins lingered a while longer and then, sensing the suffocating atmosphere, found an excuse to leave.
Just as he turned around, Maxim Sinclair called out to him: "By the way, how is Summer Lowell reacting to Justin Huxley’s pursuit?"
The question he least wanted to answer arrived.
Assistant Collins inwardly groaned, then cautiously said, "Miss Lowell hasn’t agreed or refused. Rumor has it that Justin Huxley has asked Miss Lowell to give him a chance, not to hurry in rejecting him."
Maxim Sinclair’s gaze turned cold: "Justin Huxley wants a chance, and Summer just readily gives it?"
Not knowing how to respond, Assistant Collins hesitated for a long time before reluctantly coming up with a reason: "After all, in the past, Justin Huxley helped Miss Lowell a lot. It’s normal for her to find it hard to refuse."
"Ha," Maxim Sinclair sneered, "That’s why I say she’s naive. This matter is obviously the Huxley Family using her. If I’m not mistaken, Justin Huxley was probably sent by Tina Huxley to deal with her."
As a longtime assistant, he quickly understood Maxim’s meaning, hesitating momentarily before cautiously asking, "Should we remind Miss Lowell?"
"I have my plans." Maxim Sinclair turned and walked to the treadmill not far away, adjusted the speed, and while jogging, instructed the still present Assistant Collins: "Keep an eye on Stellart. Report any new information to me immediately."
"Don’t worry, President Sinclair," Assistant Collins nodded quickly, "It’s all been arranged. Our people will promptly relay any matters concerning Miss Lowell."
With that, Assistant Collins left the gym, while the infuriated Maxim Sinclair ran on the treadmill for over an hour before stepping off.
He stepped off, grabbed a towel beside him and draped it around his neck, then walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, wiping the sweat dripping from his forehead, staring intently at the tall office building where Stellart was located in the distance.
"Summer Lowell, you better really be unable to refuse Justin Huxley due to gratitude."
Then, a few days later, during a weekend.
Faced with Justin Huxley’s enthusiastic invitation, Summer Lowell could only get into his car and arrive at a resort hotel not far from the city center.
Once the car stopped, Justin Huxley took a few steps to the passenger side, opened the door: "Careful!"
A caught-off-guard Summer Lowell got out of the car and gave an embarrassed smile at Justin Huxley: "You don’t have to do this, we’re so familiar with each other. It feels awkward."
"We may be familiar, but our previous relationship is different from now." Justin Huxley said, kindly taking Summer’s luggage, "The room is ready. We can go there directly. The two-hour drive must have tired you. Rest for a while in your room, and when you wake up, I’ll treat you to something delicious."
"You should rest too," said Summer Lowell, unable to wrestle back her luggage, looking helpless, "I hardly slept on the way, so I’m not tired. But you’ve been driving for almost two hours, you must be exhausted?"
"It’s nothing, such a short drive can’t tire me out." Justin Huxley laughed heartily, "I’ll take you to your room first."
After settling Summer in her room, Justin Huxley directly opened the door to the room facing hers. This time, he deliberately booked a room closest to Summer.
He had just entered the room when he received a call from Tina Huxley.
"What’s up?"
"Brother, are you also staying at the hot spring hotel?"
Holding the phone in one hand, Justin Huxley used the other to unpack, "Yes, I mentioned it to you yesterday. Your use of ’also’ means you’re at the hot spring hotel too?"
"Yes," Tina Huxley’s voice held a hint of excitement, "And guess who I’m with?"
Justin Huxley paused, then confidently said, "If I’m not mistaken, who else could make you this excited but Maxim Sinclair?"
"Right, I indeed came with Maxim Sinclair today. I didn’t expect him to be agreeable today, accepting my invitation without hesitation." Tina Huxley’s voice was filled with joy. On the other end, Justin Huxley sensed something wrong: "Let me ask you, between you and Maxim Sinclair, who invited whom?"
"Of course, I invited him." Tina didn’t understand why he was asking but answered dutifully, "I went to his company to deliver something. When I entered, his assistant was massaging his shoulders, saying he was unwell from working overtime. I thought of the comforting hot springs here and invited him along. Initially, he refused."
"I see, then I’m relieved." Justin Huxley said ambiguously, then instructed Tina, "By the way, I’ll send you an address later. Bring Maxim Sinclair along."
"But I don’t want to. You went there with Summer. I don’t want them to meet." Tina reluctantly protested.
"You just don’t understand." Justin Huxley did not want to explain much, "I have my reasons for asking you to do this. Don’t ask why, just comply."
"Alright then." The unwilling Tina had no choice but to agree.
More than an hour later.
Justin Huxley, watching the time, knocked on Summer’s room door: "Summer, have you rested well? Let’s go out for a walk." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Having not slept at all, Summer walked over and opened the door: "Why don’t you rest a bit longer, senior?"
With an exaggerated expression, Justin Huxley looked at Summer: "Your dress is lovely. Did you wear it especially for me?"
Summer did not want to answer the question, so she deliberately changed the topic: "I checked the resort hotel’s brochure and found they have a BBQ event tonight. Let’s join, shall we?"
Knowing Summer’s tendency, Justin Huxley smiled and nodded: "Of course, as long as you’re happy."
Not having been out for a long time, Summer, indeed feeling quite cheerful, beamed: "Just thinking about it makes me happy. Why don’t we head over now!"
Summer wore a smile all the way to the first-floor lobby.
But seeing the approaching man and woman, her smile instantly vanished.
Why is Maxim Sinclair here?
Why is Tina Huxley here too?
And why do they look so close?
Suddenly, she didn’t want to stay here anymore.
