Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 61: Maxim Sinclair’s Preconceptions
The man thought for a moment and then said, "The guys under Kim saw the two of them hugging each other from the hotel opposite, but the angle was quite tricky at the time, and they couldn’t get a picture."
"There’s no need to take such photos," Justin Huxley took a sip of his drink, "Even if you did, I wouldn’t need it, and such actions tend to startle the target."
"Okay, Mr. Huxley, I’ll message Kim in a bit and tell them to be more careful."
The man turned back to the table, picked up his phone, and sent a message to Kim.
Meanwhile, Justin Huxley drained the remaining liquor in his glass with a satisfied expression, then reached for the bottle next to him to pour himself another drink, when the screen of the phone on his left suddenly lit up.
He glanced at it and saw that it was a call from Maxim Sinclair.
"Interesting, just talking about you, and here you are calling."
Justin Huxley brought the phone to his face, slid his finger lightly to answer the call, and while doing so, he didn’t forget to pour himself a drink, "Maxim, you’re not resting this late?"
"Aren’t you up as well?" Maxim Sinclair crossed his legs, holding the phone to his ear with his right hand, casually gazing at the scenery outside the car window, "Just got back to the country, haven’t adjusted to the time difference yet?"
"A little bit," Justin Huxley replied half-truthfully, "The Great President Sinclair is not sleeping late—could it be a rendezvous with a lady?"
An icy flicker passed through Maxim Sinclair’s eyes, as he said with half a smile, "It’s been a while, and you’re getting quite sharp!"
"No, no, just a passing remark, but Maxim, the way you say it... Could it really be a rendezvous with a lady?"
Justin Huxley said, glancing up at the exquisitely packaged gift box not far away.
The gift was chosen by Summer Lowell for him today.
He could still hear her sincere tone when she picked it out, "Trust me, senior, this gift will definitely win over your future sister-in-law!"
In fact, before returning home, Justin Huxley had made numerous plans targeting the Sinclair Group, never anticipating that the little girl he once saved on impulse could now tug at Maxim Sinclair’s emotions.
It’s truly heaven helping him!
On the other end, Maxim Sinclair let out a long sigh, "There’s no lady! Just an ungrateful little wolf."
"Maxim, that’s too much! Calling me this late to flaunt your love life?"
Justin Huxley’s voice was smiling, but his face bore no hint of it, "Listen to your indulgent tone, when will you bring Mrs. Sinclair for us to meet?"
"It’ll still be a while," Maxim Sinclair deliberately sighed and changed the topic, revealing his intention, "By the way, Justin, you knew Summer Lowell before, right?"
Caught off guard by Maxim’s direct question about Summer Lowell and pretending not to know their other connection, Justin Huxley was momentarily startled: "Huh? What? Which Summer are you talking about?"
Maxim Sinclair stared at the empty road outside, speaking in a normal tone, "Summer Lowell, the design director at the Stellart Branch, your younger schoolmate from abroad, remember now?"
With such an obvious hint, Justin Huxley couldn’t play dumb any longer, "Ah, I remember now. Yeah, what’s up with her?"
"I heard you two have a good relationship. We have a little misunderstanding between us, and I was hoping you’d put in a good word for me."
After saying that sincerely, Maxim Sinclair rhythmically tapped his fingers on his knee, patiently waiting for Justin Huxley’s response.
Justin Huxley was momentarily taken aback, then quickly responded, "Sure, I know Summer quite well. I’ll definitely speak highly of you next time I see her!"
"Great, brother, that’s straightforward of you. I’ll treat you to a drink next time!" Maxim Sinclair laughed heartily, "It’s really late today; I won’t disturb you any longer. Get some rest."
After that, they exchanged a few more pleasantries before hanging up.
After hanging up, Justin Huxley tossed the phone aside, staring coldly at the drink in his hand.
After a while, he chuckled and said, "You’re smarter than I thought, figuring out so quickly that I’m the one pulling the strings behind the scenes. No wonder you defeated your cousins to become the Sinclair Family Head."
At this moment, his assistant hurriedly approached with several documents in hand, "Mr. Huxley, as per your instructions, we reviewed some accounts, and it is as you had expected; there are indeed issues with some of them."
Justin Huxley put down his glass, took the documents from his assistant, scrutinized them twice, and then handed them back, "Continue tracing down along this line, be cautious, and make sure you don’t alert any unrelated parties."
The assistant nodded skillfully, then suddenly realized, "Mr. Huxley, you mean to say?" 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Maxim Sinclair is already aware that I’m behind the actions," Justin Huxley said, rubbing his temples with some displeasure, "Tell Jake to clean up all traces of the photos sent to Maxim Sinclair. Also, give extra money to those who took the pictures, send them far away, and ensure Maxim Sinclair’s men can’t track them."
"But Mr. Huxley, our people were very careful; it shouldn’t have been possible to alert Maxim Sinclair, right? Could the information be wrong?"
Justin Huxley looked at him with an expressionless face, causing the assistant to feel a twinge of fear, and he quickly said, "Alright, I’ll arrange for someone to handle it immediately."
Varden Villa.
Maxim Sinclair got out of the car, clutching his phone, and walked into the house with a gloomy expression.
The butler, hearing the noise, came up to him and began to nag, "Sir, have you had dinner yet?"
"I’m not hungry; no need to prepare anything. Go get some rest."
The butler glanced at his face, tactfully stepping back.
Maxim Sinclair went straight to his room, discarded his coat, stood by the window for a moment, then reached back to grab the phone he had thrown on the couch and dialed Assistant Collins’s number: "Arrange someone to keep a close watch on the Huxley Family, and also look into what Justin Huxley has been up to abroad these past few years."
On the other end, Assistant Collins, who was taking notes with paper and pen, diligently noted down the instructions: "Got it, President Sinclair. Anything else?"
Maxim Sinclair looked at his reflection in the mirror and, after pondering for a moment, added, "Investigate Old Master Huxley’s incorrigible children... I want a full check. I want to know what role Justin Huxley is playing in all this."
He always trusted his intuition; Justin Huxley’s trip back home definitely wasn’t just a simple visit.
Targeting him from the start, he surely had bigger ambitions.
As a member of the Huxley Family, whether he had ambitions was none of Maxim Sinclair’s concern.
But involving Summer Lowell from the get-go was absolutely unjustifiable.
Friday morning.
Summer Lowell gathered several key designers from the "Seasonal Breeze" project team in her office for a brief meeting, roughly assigning some tasks, and then hurried to the "Charming Allure" project group’s work area.
