Damned Healer-Chapter 462: Lone And Terrifying
Across the entire planet, the air turned restless as space itself began to tremble. In the skies, hundreds of golden beacons lit up and expanded like erupting volcanoes. Everyone who’d been thrown far away roared and shot back at full speed.
When they arrived, they saw Darian standing there, watching them calmly. The moment their eyes met his, a chill ran down everyone’s spine.
What the hell was going on? How did he do all that? Everyone’s minds were burning with the same questions.
But it didn’t take long for their senses to pick up something even more terrifying — a Yin of death spreading through the air around Darian.
He gave a faint smile and motioned with his hand, calling them. "One’s down. Come on, come on..."
Everyone clenched their fists seriously; they understood and felt it — but didn’t want to believe it.
Then, all that bright, colorful light around Darian quickly faded, turning weaker — like a faint mantle wrapping his body.
Darian took a deep breath. He was almost drained after that strike, so he had to fall back to the most basic form of his Primordial Physique. Still, deep inside, he felt thrilled. He had managed something insanely hard — killing someone with nine rings directly.
Of course, that only happened because of a very specific mix of factors. If Anbon could go back in time now and fight him again — even with Darian having fully recovered his power — he’d never be able to kill him a second time.
Since no one knew Darian’s true strength, the element of surprise had been crucial. The average level of Earth’s inhabitants was another matter entirely, but the main thing... was the raw, terrifying power Niara had granted him.
’Hehe... this is nothing. When I return to my body, you’ll see my true brilliance.’ Niara’s proud voice echoed.
Darian just nodded. He had only one shot to catch them off guard, and only one attack with all his draconic power. In the end, the ignorance of those people — believing he was harmless — had led to one of them dying.
He’d been careful in his moves, capturing Mallory and now taking down Anbon. But... those idiots weren’t completely brainless.
In fact, everyone’s aura shifted entirely, marking Darian as a true enemy to be crushed.
Alexandra, the Empress of the Solar Federation Empire, coordinated her soldiers and activated her blessing.
*Buzz*
Space vibrated. Darian noticed she was burning through all her power, along with a ridiculous amount of resources. The air over a vast area started to distort, like they were underwater — space itself turning into turbulent waves.
That was a technique meant to counter enemies who moved through space. They were really treating Darian like a worthy Rank S mission target, not holding back on their resources.
"You think I’m trying to run? I’ve been calling you out from the start," Darian said slowly.
Vahlur roared, "Yarran, all tanks!"
A man of medium height with short red hair stepped forward. A thin layer of ice covered his body, forming armor.
That was the Emperor of the Aurora Coalition Empire — a tank using a common blessing Darian had seen before.
Along with him, twelve other tanks surrounded Darian from every side, keeping about twenty meters between them.
At the same time, Blaine and Vahlur led the offensive with nearly twenty mages, making the environment shine with elemental colors.
Alexandra and ten other supports focused their abilities on Darian, while the rest — dozens of Fighters armed with sharp blades — waited for the slightest opening to strike.
Everyone was in full combat mode. Even if they were average by universal standards, they were extremely experienced, veterans of countless missions and battles.
Darian drew his twin daggers and glared coldly at them.
In that instant, everyone moved in perfect sync.
*BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!*
Everyone on the planet, no matter where they were, could hear and feel the devastating impacts.
On the continent, Lucy, Camille, and the others watched without breathing.
Darian was alone, surrounded on all sides, being hit with everything they had — no chance to retreat or ask for help.
Violent explosions echoed, attacks clashed from every direction, flashes and bursts of energy filled the atmosphere — creating a visual spectacle... as beautiful as it was terrifying.
Mages, Fighters, even tanks were trying to break his stance. But...
Darian was only thrown around, swinging his daggers in an attempt to strike back.
"He... what the hell..."
Camille muttered in disbelief. Even under that barrage, Darian hadn’t spat blood or looked injured. It was like he was made of the toughest metal in existence.
But even the strongest metal isn’t unbreakable.
After several minutes, everyone heard a cracking sound coming from his body.
Vahlur almost laughed, trying to hide his fear. Everyone was equally stunned — it felt like a ridiculous dream seeing that four-ringed kid holding out for so long.
But now, this would be the end...
"!"
Then a faint white light enveloped Darian, healing him completely in a single second — right in front of everyone’s eyes.
Everything froze. Silence swallowed the battlefield.
Darian looked around, confused.
"Huh? Did you forget I’m a healer? I just healed myself. That should’ve been expected, right?"
"DAMNED HEALER!" someone shouted furiously.
"Oh?! That’s a good title," Darian replied calmly.
Vahlur roared, "ATTACK TO KILL! DON’T BOTHER TRYING TO CAPTURE HIM!"
*RUMBLE!!*
About ten of them activated their Supreme Artifacts with everything they had.
Before, they’d let only Alexandra use hers to restrict Darian’s movement, trying to capture him. But now, there was no more hesitation — everyone triggered their artifacts at once.
Darian gave a dark smile.
A wave of sealing runes, Calamity-level elements, and strange energies from other universes surrounded him on all sides.
Supreme Artifacts could come in many forms, but on Earth, the empires only cared about offensive ones — the kind of items that could make a massive difference in Rank S missions.
So, they were all pretty similar, built to unleash sudden, overwhelming power in battle.
Now, even Lucy — who almost blindly trusted Darian — went pale.
She and Lucius, after reaching seven rings and when their blessings shone with intense light, could together fight someone with nine rings and survive; maybe even kill them.
In that last battle, they’d only blocked the Wube family members with heroic spirits, giving support so the beasts could finish the enemies.
But Darian... he only had four rings, and he was up against a hundred people with nine rings — alone.
Still, seeing his calm face, Lucy took a deep breath and her eyes gleamed with anticipation.
"Die!"
They all attacked at once, leaving no gap for him to survive.
As the energies got within just a few meters of him, ready to swallow him whole...
Darian simply waved his hand.
And then everything stopped — as if time itself had frozen solid.
The power of those artifacts didn’t actually belong to the people using them. It was like firing an arrow — once released, it became ownerless, following only the local laws of physics.
Obviously, that happened because those idiots were just average — incapable of syncing and controlling their artifacts properly.
In Vadise, every Supreme Artifact belonged to an individual who had acquired it based on compatibility, working to draw out its full potential. But on Earth, they just picked the most powerful ones they could find — and used them however they could.
So...
Using his absolute control over energy, Darian brutally forced everything to a halt. He couldn’t perfectly command them — but he didn’t need to.
He waved slightly. "Take it back."
Everyone’s eyes went wide — the instinct of death screamed in their souls.
**KBOOOM!**
All the energies blasted back at once, like a supernova.
The end of the night in that region of Earth looked like midday, as the blinding light covered everything. Then a sonic boom thundered out, echoing across the entire planet.
...
Slowly, color returned to the world.
In the sky, Darian stood still, calmly watching the full moon and feeling the sea breeze on his face.
Then, from every direction — some hundreds, others thousands of kilometers away — several figures emerged from the ocean.
They were all the ones who had fought before, but... none of them were in one piece. In fact, they looked pitiful: twisted faces and bodies, covered in blood, bones broken, and suffering from serious internal injuries.
The mages and Fighters were in the worst shape. Still, they had survived.
They hadn’t spent their whole lives fighting for nothing — they’d acted on pure survival instinct, defending however they could and diving into the ocean to absorb part of the blast. All of them carried countless pills and even artifacts made solely to keep them alive.
Even so...
As they surfaced and began moving back, they all froze at a safe distance, staring at the lone and terrifying man floating in the sky.
None of them had the guts to attack again. Now, there was only fear in their hearts.
Darian turned his gaze from the moon downward, locking eyes with Vahlur — his expression completely indifferent. The elf, on the other hand, looked utterly broken.
"Not going to try again?" he asked slowly.
Everyone focused as hard as they could, trying to sense any fluctuation of energy from him. Anything that could give them even a shred of hope would’ve been enough...
But when they realized the truth, they swallowed hard — from the moment Darian had pulled his power back to its minimum state...
...he still hadn’t lost a single bit of energy. The only thing he’d used before was a bit of white power to heal himself. Everything up to now had just been light training — with zero real cost to him.
