Damned Healer-Chapter 646: Flashy Gifts
After talking with the two of them, Darian asked Awel to find the Wood Spirits in the region. After a few days, he took both of them to Herta and Hart, adding them to their group.
That way, everyone could safely search for the treasures Bloopie knew about, as well as those known by the Celsiel family. Darian left the Jade Slip with Saelil and then moved toward the central region of the Golden Sky Mountain.
No beast that lived there had the courage to take him that far; they all knew it was a deadly place. Darian did not want to force them, so he went on foot, calmly.
At that moment, he was already close to his fourth week inside that small world.
*Rumble!*
Suddenly, an earthquake occurred, and Darian felt as if he heard a sharp voice coming from very far away.
He narrowed his eyes. It had happened faster than he expected. Without hesitation, he ran forward as fast as he could.
An hour later, Darian gazed from a great distance at a colossal figure. It had a humanoid structure, but it was so massive that its shoulders rose above the clouds. It possessed a pair of black wings covered in enigmatic runes.
Waves of energy emanated from it, constantly lashing the sky and the land, crushing everything with a devastating Nether power. The ground lay in ruins, and space-time, as well as the entire surrounding ecosystem, had collapsed.
Darian focused his gaze on the top of that thing. Soon, he spotted Ailik. She was using her four arms to hold a chain; on her shoulder was Ramel in his true form, the one who had created those chains. Both of them were bound to the back of the figure.
It was literally a giant, headless corpse walking around!
That was the corpse of the Divine Nether Beast. Ailik and Ramel were pulling the chain with all their strength, while struggling to maintain focus.
Near them, waves of energy swirled and explosions echoed.
Niara flew through the skies around them, furiously attacking a flaming figure.
It was Melva, but she was not alone. The red-haired man and the muscular man were by her side. Both tried to attack the two on the giant's back, while Niara fought all three by herself.
But…
Niara was not even using the Divine Dragon Possession. She was fighting with the bare minimum of power, following Darian's orders. Even so, the three of them could not even dream of getting close to those two.
That Dragoness was like a Goddess of Battle. Even when the three tried to attack from different directions, she simply released a bit more power and threw them away.
Darian quickened his pace. That could not last forever, or Niara would be forced to burn energy at the wrong moment.
"Haha… let's see how long you can hold out!"
In the middle of the battle, a laugh echoed across the sky. Niara turned and saw a distant man with two wings on his back and an overwhelming black energy covering him like a cloak.
Melva roared in fury. "Fuck, Murkum! Come…!"
*BANG!*
Mid-sentence, Niara moved abruptly and threw a violent punch straight into Melva's face, sending her flying until she crashed and exploded against a mountain.
"What a noisy bitch." Niara spat coldly.
She had been keeping an eye on that man for some time; she could feel that he was strong. If he moved to help, she would have to go all out.
"DIE!"
The other two roared and attacked Niara in sync, their eyes red with rage.
Their bodies were covered in blood, and their faces were swollen. They had been toyed with by Darian before, and now, upon meeting his declared wife, they thought they could take revenge… only to discover that Darian was actually a bit gentler than her.
Niara had no delicacy or restraint. She attacked to cause the maximum amount of damage and humiliation.
*BOOM!*
With a powerful flap of her wings, Niara shot forward, forming a beautiful spinning arc in the air, and landed a brutal kick to the muscular man's chest.
He exploded into the ground, making the earth tremble. Then she moved her hands toward the red-haired man and opened her fists.
A black needle shot out from her hand at high speed, like an arrow flying straight at him.
The red-haired man's eyes widened, and in desperation, he used his Destiny Disc to block. With a dry sound, he managed to do it, but in the next instant, Niara appeared like a ghost and kicked straight into the most vulnerable part of a man.
The redhead's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. He flew several meters into the air, letting out a heart-wrenching scream of pain. It even made that diabolical man in the distance feel a twinge of pity.
That previous attack was Darian's black power, which Niara had perfectly incorporated into her battle movements.
"Ailik! How is it?" Niara turned and shouted.
The young woman replied with a tense expression, "I need one more hour…"
Niara nodded, already sensing Darian rapidly approaching.
Earlier, the two of them had been very close to stealing that body when the four appeared. Niara thought it would be simple to stop them, but that diabolical man did something, and the corpse stood up, beginning to move and cause massive chaos.
That severely disrupted Ailik and Ramel, forcing them to struggle just to endure it while completing the process.
The three Primordial Chosen stood up and regrouped, consumed by fury.
One side of Melva's face was caved in. When she swung her whip and moved to attack…
"!"
*BOOM!*
At that instant, an ice blade suddenly struck her from behind, sending her flying away.
A lively female voice echoed, "Give me back my whip! And take off your clothes too!"
Eleri shouted, then ran over to Darian's side, who was still a bit farther back.
Darian had given Eleri that escape treasure, the one the idiot he killed alongside the Wood Spirits had almost used. It was an extremely efficient single-use spatial treasure, capable of transporting her over a long distance without any noticeable fluctuations. It was a direct and completely unexpected surprise attack.
"I think saying this out loud sounds a bit wrong..." Awel muttered when Eleri returned to Darian's side. "But… it'll be a good humiliation."
Melva quickly got up from the ground; her feathered dress had absorbed all the damage and protected her with ease. Even so, slamming into the ground so violently, being thrown around, and being struck repeatedly without being able to react even once, was a completely new experience for her.
As she stood up and saw Darian, the flames and lightning around her suddenly exploded.
"You damn bastard!" Melva snarled through clenched teeth, trying to steady herself as fast as possible.
Ailik and Ramel lit up when they saw Darian arrive.
*BANG!*
The other two men were brutally thrown away once again by Niara. At that moment, Darian reached her side.
"Leave the three of them to me. Focus on that guy."
He said it and turned around. Then he saw Melva standing still, her lips moving as her electric and flaming power spun hypnotically around her.
Before he could even think of reacting, a gigantic cage appeared from the void around him, its terrifying pressure eclipsing even the Nether power of the corpse.
"Oh? Finally decided to use all your power? I told you to do that in our last fight, and you didn't listen. You still want to blame me for making you run away with your tail between your legs back then?"
Darian mocked indifferently. That was Melva's trump card; she was burning something she would never have again.
Those two appeared at her side, preparing to unleash a maximum attack.
"Primordial God Prison!"
Millions of chains moved around Darian, exuding a terrifying Primordial power. That was Melva's strongest card. During her previous fight with Darian, she believed she would defeat him easily, so she never used her trump cards, judging that he was not worthy.
However, as the battle progressed and she realized Darian's power far exceeded her expectations, she never got the chance to use it. Now, she used it to catch him off guard.
Her previous defeat had been the greatest disgrace of her life, and she hated it deeply. Convinced that she had lost only because she underestimated Darian, she refused to accept that failure.
This time, she burned it right from the start because she wanted to crush him with pure brute force.
Darian snorted, and his expression turned serious. The smile vanished, replaced by a murderous air.
Awel appeared in his hands. He was forced to use the runic seal, something that, once activated, would take several hours before it could be used again.
Without hesitation, he attacked.
The cage closed and shrank, trapping him at its center. It was like a heavenly net imprisoning a tiny ant. But unexpectedly…
…the small dagger in Darian's hands possessed a power capable of defying the heavens themselves. The runic seal had been created by a true divinity to exist above the laws of the world; not even God Roc himself would be crazy enough to oppose it.
He struck with absolute precision, slicing through the world itself. Nothing could stop it. That attack was an unyielding challenge.
**KBOOM!**
The collision shook the entire Golden Sky Mountain, triggering an explosion of uncontrolled power that even made the enormous corpse stagger to the side. Flames and lightning erupted, astral winds tore through space, and cracks spread everywhere, making it seem like that place would shatter at any moment.
As for the cage, it exploded without leaving a trace.
"Impossible! The bloodline of God Roc is the greatest bloodline in the universe! He is the heavens, and the heavens are him! No one can break his power!" Melva exclaimed, stunned, unable to believe what she was seeing.
In fact, the Primordial Empire possessed several things left behind by Roc besides the Sacred Treasure. Melva had used something left directly by Roc, which carried a portion of his bloodline; that was why it was common knowledge that this prison was invincible.
The two beside her, and even the one farther away, could not believe it. They were also certain that Darian could not escape once Melva used that.
Since the Emperor had authorized Melva to use it if necessary, everything was under control in their eyes. Darian could be as strong as he wanted, but he could still be trapped and killed.
"In your hands, that's just below average. After all, it's not your own power. Nothing you have was truly earned by you."
Darian spoke without emotion. Seeing their expressions change drastically, it was clear they had never felt so belittled and treated as inferior in their lives.
"Don't kid yourself! Let's see how you deal with this!" Melva steadied herself and shouted.
She raised the Bone Whip, which instantly stiffened. Countless ice runes lit up along its length, and a wild aura surged rapidly.
But…
At the exact moment she fully activated the Bone Whip, a hand grabbed it.
"Hand it over!"
Darian appeared in front of her as if he had teleported. Then, a little girl with a wide smile reached out and grabbed the whip.
Suddenly, Melva's control over the Whip plummeted. In shock, she used all her power to try to reclaim control of the weapon.
However, the Whip seemed to have turned into a rebellious general, refusing to obey the queen's orders.
"You bastard, what did you do?!" Melva roared.
"A great general chooses its master. What could I do? I just used my power to show that following me would give it a better future," Darian replied, a sinister smile on his lips.
Eleri yanked the Whip hard, and the spirit of the item could feel the power of her pure, natural waters. It received information from the feather spirit: there were two figures capable of nourishing it a thousand times better.
These spirits were like beggars living off scraps. Upon seeing Darian's level of power, capable of even resisting that prison, they decided to risk everything and side with him.
Suddenly, the Whip vibrated violently.
"NO!" Melva roared, feeling a sharp pain in her hand as it completely slipped out of her control.
"You dare betray your mistress?! Die!" Melva screamed. She could not understand why the Whip would betray her and throw itself into the arms of that figure beside Darian, but that betrayal enraged her deeply.
Melva spat out a mouthful of blood. That caused the runes carved into the whip by the Primordial Empire to glow fiercely. In her fury, she decided to detonate it directly.
The Whip reacted, releasing all of its internal power to resist her control.
Seeing this, Eleri turned to Darian with a tense expression.
Darian smiled faintly and extended his hand. He touched the whip and burned a small portion of chaos power, completely sealing the runes.
In an instant, everything disappeared.
"Thank you, Master! Hehe," Eleri laughed happily. Without delay, she flashed and entered Darian's inventory with her new toy.
When they had time, Darian would remove the useless things from the weapon, allowing it to be used freely.
At that moment, Awel, in Darian's hands, vibrated in anticipation. She said nothing, but her senses were focused on the dress, eager to get it.
As for Darian, he felt like an older brother, offering flashy gifts to his little sisters.
