Chapter 16: [16] General assignment {2}
Mana vein's are the most important aspect for growth, at the early phase at least.
With his mana Veins strengthened recently, Zick experienced growth like never before. He was surprised and looked forward to this day even more due to it.
As the assistants took away the storage rings from all the cadets, Zick closely observed the blue gate leading to the artificial dungeon.

Artificial dungeon, in simple words a materialistic plane in between reality and nothingness.
There were many dungeons that formed naturally called lower dimension, having mana density of not even 1% of this world.
Of course, there are also dungeons which possess mana density ten times that of this planet.
The artificial dungeon that Zick and the others were entering possessed mana density of not even 0.0001% of what was present in the air around them.
With mana stretched to such an extent, no one would be able to use mana.
It was truly a test of survival.
"Before you enter the dungeon, There are safe shelters provided for convenience spread across the dungeon. If you find any special artifact, you can keep it as a trophy."
"If you are able to survive for 5 days without quitting, you will be allocated the full 50 GP points."
The coordinator ended his speech, leading the cadets to the artificial dungeon systematically.
'I hope the location I'm teleported to is the same as before the regression.'
Zick looked down, his eyes shining in a calculative light.
There were other cadets who invited Zick to join their team too, like Dershein.
However, Zick rejected them all without hesitation.
'I don't want to take care of them...'
No information about the artificial dungeon was provided, hence no one else knew about their inability to use mana after entering.
Not aware of the nightmare awaiting them.
More than half of them were from the Noble family, it's hard to expect them all to grit it through such an assignment.
As Zick's chance arrived, he glanced at Aster following a few heads behind, before taking a step forward.
The intention in his eyes was clear, 'I will wait for you on the other side.'
Aster, who understood his meaning, inexplicably froze. Before shaking her head slowly, she felt goosebumps all over body.
.....
Fwoosh~
Hot air blew past Zick's face.
"It's actually the same place as before my regression...Is it fate?" Zick looked around, finding nothing but sand dunes till the end of horizon.
Conserving his mana, Zick began walking opposite to the sun. Once he uses his mana, it would be impossible to recover.
To survive in this desert, Zick knew that he needed a base more than anything else, because there was no night in here.
The sun in the sky was an unending one.
Similarly, the forest and snowland of the dungeon was evening and night respectively, constantly without any fluctuations. It was as if time was frozen at a single moment.
Climbing up the dune, Zick furrowed his brow, looking upon the trees and a lake in the distance.
'That's a trap....'
And Zick suffered a lot due to it before regression, fighting against dozens of centipede monsters in the water.
Ignoring the Oasis, Zick headed to his right.
With just the sound of his footsteps and sweat forming all around his body, Zick's mood grew melancholy by the second.
'I never realised it was so far away before....It must be because I was poisoned.'
Not only were there monsters near the Oasis, the water in the lake was poisoned too.
'I could have easily found out by circulating my mana into it too....'
His past recklessness made him embarrassed.
If Zick was asked what makes a person grow the most.
He would confidently answer - "It's when maturity hits you in the face."
"Sigh...." Zick shook off the sand that entered into his clothes.
He wanted to come prepared, but tying a scarf around his face and looking like a weird soldier would definitely make the professor doubtful.
Brushing off the sand stuck on his ears and hair, Zick continued his march without any hurry.
As the thirst rising from his throat grew, his steps became more firm.
"Haa...haaa....heh.."
Zick stared at the conspicuous pyramid just a hundred meters away.
The pyramid wasn't huge, comparable to a five story high building.
These pyramids were the safe shelter provided by [Alter].
'According to future analysis, there were only three such pyramids around the desert zone.' Zick thought blankly, arriving before it in no time.
There was an entrance right at the middle, which Zick used to reach a thick wooden door.
Creek~
The moment he pushed the door open, magical words appeared before him.
{The shelter has been occupied by Zick Dejlin. All the usage rights will be transferred....}
Not bothered with the familiar words, Zick moved forwards towards the hall.
Instantly, bottles of water and many kinds of quick food reflected on his eyes.
But his eyes didn't stay on them for long, moving to the square table in the middle of the room.
There were exactly three items placed on it.
A long black sniper, a leather robe and a brownish boot. All of them emanated mana, showing their identity as an artifact.
Cherishing the sniper, Zick was satisfied - this was his ticket to guaranteed success.
Without mana, even Zick wasn't sure if he could beat dozens of cadets at once. All of their talent was top tier, though not as good compared to monsters like Zick and Aster.
Overall, their Siege brought him many risks, no matter how he looked upon it.
Drinking a bottle of water and a few snacks, Zick took off his clothes covered in sand. After dusting it properly, he wore it again. However the uncomfortable feeling still existed.
Throwing away his shoes filled with sand, he equipped the boot on the chair.
[A new skill - {Swift step} has been temporarily acquired.]
A similar notification arose after Zick wore the leather robe too.
[New skills - {Stealth and low presence concealment} have been temporarily acquired.]
"Let's get started."
Zick coldly placed the sniper on his shoulder, heading out of the shelter.
As he walked through the exit, his figure started to vanish into thin air.
After positioning himself on the top of the pyramid, Zick looked around with the scope of the sniper.
