Dragged Into Another World Because of My Otaku Friend-Chapter 174: Reymond Vs Azul
Reymond swung his spear to meet Azul’s attack. Sparks burst out as metal clashed, and a sharp gust of wind spread through the hall. Azul leapt backward, landing near Reika, then calmly adjusted his white robe as he turned to face Reymond.
"Good morning, Prince Reymond. You look angry as usual. Why don’t we just-"
Before Azul could finish his sentence, Reymond was already in front of him, his face twisted with pure rage.
"Fatal Impalement!"
He thrust his spear straight at Azul. Azul barely managed to dodge to the side, but despite his quick reaction, the edge of the attack still tore part of his robe.
"Well, it seems you really don’t want to have a chat, huh?" Azul said lightly.
Reymond didn’t respond. He continued his assault relentlessly, giving Azul no room to breathe. He had no intention of exchanging words with the man who had kidnapped his sister. Every swing and thrust was sharp, precise, and merciless, all of them aimed straight at Azul.
At first, Azul managed to evade most of the attacks. But as the seconds passed, Reymond’s assault grew faster and faster, his movements becoming more ferocious.
Reymond swung his spear straight toward Azul’s head. It was too fast for Azul to react properly, forcing him to block it with his bare hand. Using that opening, Reymond leapt upward, pulled his spear back, then smashed it down into the ground near Azul, who barely managed to dash away in time.
The impact sent a violent tremor through the grand hall. Dust and debris rained down from the ceiling, and the chandelier swayed violently, creaking as it swung.
Reika watched the battle closely, her heart tightening. More than anything, she wanted her brother to be safe. She knew too well what happened to her eldest brother when anger took control of him. He would become terrifyingly strong, almost unstoppable, especially with his Berserker class amplifying his emotions to an overwhelming level.
But that power came with a cost. He would act purely on instinct, becoming reckless and short-sighted. Against someone as cunning as Azul, that was extremely dangerous. No one knew what Azul still had hidden up his sleeve.
As the battle dragged on, even Azul began to feel overwhelmed. Small scratches started to appear on his body, left by the sharp tip of Esapturah, the spear Reymond wielded.
Azul jumped a few steps back, widening the distance between them.
"Looks like you really live up to the name they gave you, Prince. What was it again... ah yes, Battle Maniac." He chuckled lightly. "I admit, you’re truly strong. If I weren’t in such a hurry, I would love to play with you a bit longer. But... not today."
Azul reached into his pocket and pulled out an object. It was an accessory, a magic item glittering in silver light. The circular piece was engraved with intricate writings, its surface faintly glowing. Azul held the cord suspending the accessory and swung it left and right.
Suddenly, a bright light burst forth, completely enveloping his body.
Reymond immediately went on alert and raised his spear, his eyes locked onto the light.
A few seconds later, the glow faded.
And standing there was no longer one Azul, but three!
Three identical figures, each a perfect copy of him.
"Be careful, brother!" Reika shouted from inside the barrier.
At last, Azul had revealed one of the tricks hidden up his sleeve.
But to Reymond, whether it was one enemy, three, or even hundreds, it made no difference. He had never backed down in his life. The word retreat did not exist in his dictionary. He marched forward, then broke into a full sprint, dust trailing behind him.
The three Azuls dashed forward to meet him.
One of them crouched low and swept at Reymond’s leg, trying to immobilize him. The kick struck his leg, making him grimace in pain, but Reymond clenched his teeth and reinforced his stance. His muscles bulged as he kicked back, sending the first Azul flying away.
Another Azul immediately followed up with an attack. Reymond had no intention of dodging or blocking. He took the blow head-on and counterattacked at the same time.
But something was wrong.
His strike passed straight through the copy, as if he had hit nothing but air. In the next instant, the second Azul’s fist slammed into Reymond’s face, sending him stumbling backward.
Blood dripped from his lips. Reymond wiped it away and stared at the red stain on his hand. Then he looked up at the three Azuls before him, his expression filled with surprise.
"You must be shocked, aren’t you? Wondering why your attack missed." Azul’s voice echoed calmly. "Well, since you’ll be defeated here anyway, let me tell you a little secret. Among the three of us, only one is real. Only the real one can attack and defend. The others are nothing but illusions." He smiled beneath his mask. "And the best part is, I can switch between them as easily as blinking my eyes. So, Prince... which one of us do you think is real?"
"You bastard! What do you actually want with my sister?" Reymond roared.
"Ohhh, now you want to talk?" Azul mocked. "But it’s too late. I’m not in the mood for conversation."
All three Azuls jumped forward at the same time.
The battle turned brutal.
But unlike before, this time Azul held the upper hand. Reymond was forced backward by the relentless assault. Wounds opened across his body, blood splattering the floor. None of his attacks connected. Every strike passed through illusions, while the real blows landed on him again and again.
He was being overwhelmed and bullied.
Yet, even as Azul dominated the fight, a strange feeling crept into his mind.
Something was wrong.
Reymond kept taking the hits, as if he were deliberately allowing them to land.
Suddenly, beneath the heavy barrage of attacks, a smile spread across Reymond’s face. At the same moment, his body began to glow with a fierce red aura.
The real Azul leapt into the air, pulling his leg back, ready to strike Reymond’s head. But Reymond was quicker, he dodged with newfound agility, faster than before, and thrust his spear toward Azul mid-air.
Azul vanished in an instant, shifting his real body to the second copy behind Reymond.
Reymond’s spear passed through the first Azul illusion, but without missing a beat, he changed stance and attacked the second one. Azul immediately switched to the third copy, but Reymond suddenly altered the trajectory of his spear, striking with the other end, and hit the last copy squarely on the head.
Thump!
The sharp sound of spear connecting with Azul’s head echoed through the grand hall.
Azul was thrown several metres from the impact before crashing hard against the wall. The other copies dissolved into mist. Reymond stood firm, planting his spear firmly into the ground beside him.
Azul slowly emerged from the rubble and debris, stunned by the sudden turn of events.
Reika’s heart swelled with relief. If she could, she would have rushed to her brother’s side right now.
Her eldest brother had now entered the true form of the Berserker: "The Fury of Berserker." In this state, every hit he takes fuels the class’s passive ability. Once fully charged, it erupts, transforming him into an unstoppable force.
And Reika knew this well, no one had ever defeated him in this form. Not even once.
