Dumped A Scumbag At The Altar For A One Night Stand With A Billionaire-Chapter 125: He Already Knows?
Tristan felt a sharp tightening ache in his chest. She was trembling, cold and drenched yet her eyes...blue like glimmering gems were filled with sorrow.
She wanted him to save someone? Who did she want him to save?
"I will leave, I’ll go far away...I won’t bother you anymore, please just save her." She cried, trembling from the cold but she didn’t seem to care, so he pulled her close wiping the water and tears off her face.
"What happened?" He queried, willing her to calm down.
He’d felt relieved seeing her unharmed, immediately after coming out of the meeting he suddenly found several missed calls from her and he had been worried, but when he called her back her phone had been switched off.
The number of urgent calls he’d received from her made him unable to ignore it, he immediately instructed Kaleb to find her location.
Kaleb had only needed to make a few calls before her location was tracked to the city hospital, then Grayson Corp, then Blakewood Groups.
Was she trying to find him?
At that moment he wasn’t far away from the hospital, a strange line of worry had infiltrated his chest, one that made it hard to breathe. He had wondered why she was looking for him to have gone all the way to Grayson Corp and then to Blakewood Groups.
Had she been hurt, did she need his help with something?
Seeing her now, she was drenched by the rain but beyond that there were tears and exhaustion clear on her face.
Who was she so concerned about?
The way she’d slapped him, and the look of accusation in her gaze earlier before it turned to helplessness...
"Celine!" A voice called, as a woman rushed out of the hospital.
"Are you alright? Where have you been?"
Celine shook her head weakly, seemingly unable to speak. Her skin felt flaming to the touch and Natalia gasped when she touched her arm.
"You’re burning up."
She shook off Natalia’s concern, looking up at Tristan, he could see the silent plea in her eyes, the helplessness, all of it made his chest tighten badly.
"What’s going on?" He turned to ask the woman who had suddenly arrived by her side. Celine seemed too shaken.
When Natalia looked up at the man, she was frozen with shock for a moment.
It was him!
Before Natalia could recover from her shock, the loud sounds of an ambulance suddenly interrupted as a line of doctors and nurses rushed out of the hospital, they had to parts ways, Natalia pulled Celine backwards to create space at the hospital entrance so they could push in the emergency patients.
At this moment, Kaleb who had gone into the hospital came out to report the issue to Tristan.
Kaleb had proceeded into the hospital to inquire about Celine’s situation, he whispered some things into Tristan’s ear.
Immediately Tristan heard what Kaleb had to report, he frowned deeply, looked up at Celine who was being questioned by the woman next to her, there was an unfathomable expression in his eyes before nodding then going into the hospital.
The crowd of doctors and nurses took a long time pushing in some heavily injured patients from a mass accident. At some point, Celine had lost sight of Tristan, she craned her neck but the crowd had blocked her view of the other side. She wasn’t able to see if Tristan was still there or not.
Celine couldn’t wait anymore, she pushed past the crowd making her way to the other side where Tristan had been standing but the spot was empty...he wasn’t there.
"Where...where did he go?" Celine asked, running around in desperate search of him.
"Celine! Celine you have to stop!" Natalia ran after her. Celine wasn’t in the condition to run around like that, she had felt her burning up, she might be running a fever along with the stress, Natalia felt extremely worried about her.
"No, he can’t leave! He’s the only one who can save her, if he leaves..." She couldn’t continue her words, tears choking her up.
"Mrs Roberts! Mrs Roberts!" A nurse hurriedly came out calling for Celine.
"We just found a donor, he’s a perfect match for your daughter."
Celine paused, reluctant to feel relief even at those words.
"Really? How did that happen?" Natalia asked, her relief evident.
"A man just arrived, we performed the tests and he is a perfect match, the doctors are preparing to begin the transfusion." The nurse informed.
The relief almost knocked the breath out of Celine, she staggered but luckily, Natalia moved quickly to steady her. "Will Leah really be alright after the transfusion?"
"Yes ma’am, with the blood being a perfect match, there will be no further complications, she will be absolutely fine."
A perfect match?
Was it him?
That means... he already knows?
"The donor, do you know who he is?" Celine asked quickly.
"No ma’am, but he looked like a very important person, he’s also very handsome." The nurse replied.
Celine was in thought for a few seconds more before dashing into the hospital, she went up to Leah’s ward and met the doctor inserting the needle connected to the blood bag into Leah’s veins.
The doctor smiled upon seeing her, he then congratulated her, "I must say, we’re really lucky to find a match at the last minute. And this little girl here is a fighter, she managed to hold on for so long, she really does take after her fierce mother." He added the last part joking about the slap he received from Celine earlier.
Seeing that her daughter was out of danger, Celine’s rationality seemed to have returned as well. She apologized to the doctor for her earlier reaction and was quite relieved to find out he wasn’t offended at all.
"Her donor, is he still here?" She asked the doctor, feeling strangely nervous.
Tristan, she knew it was him. That was why he’d suddenly disappeared earlier, but what made her nervous was...
Did he know he was saving his own daughter?
This was the one question constantly replaying in her head. Does he already know she had his children five years ago?
"Yes, he’s currently at the laboratory." The doctor replied naturally, thinking she wanted to express her gratitude to the person who donated blood for her daughter.
Celine glanced at Leah, though she still looked pale, Celine was assured that her daughter was out of danger. And Rachel who was still feeling self guilt remained religiously by the girl’s side.
"You need rest." Natalia stopped her before she could leave.
"Not yet, I need to talk to him."
"Him?" Natalia queried before realization lit up her eyes as she understood the person Celine needed to speak to.
Celine’s heart was still pounding, but not in fear this time. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
What would he say?
How would he react?
Would he be happy about it or would he disliked it?
Would he hate her, despise her children and want nothing to do with them, or was there the smallest possibility that he would accept them?
All these questions made the headache, pounding against her skull intensify. She headed to the laboratory, stood outside the door for a few seconds, then pushed it open after taking a deep breath...
