Extra's Guide to Surviving a Dark Fantasy World-Chapter 82: New Roommate-2
So this is how they are going to separate the students, huh? I shook my head and began walking to the door.
I had only taken my first step in when suddenly the map disappeared, and I received another message from the academy.
Thinking it was a bit odd, I opened the message.

They reassigned my room; why? Don’t tell me they are already facing some administrative issues.
Narrowing my eyes, I began making my way toward the ninth floor, walking past students standing in front of their rooms and chatting with their neighbors.
I was also able to glance inside some of the rooms, noticing the two beds mounted on the opposite sides of the walls.
They are really treating us second-stage students as second-level citizens. I could bet everything that those in the other luxurious wing didn’t have to share a room with a roommate.
Wonder who I got assigned as my roommate, please let it be someone quieter.
I soon reached the fifth floor. Room 13 was just in the distance, so praying to myself once again, I started walking towards the door, slowly opening it to reveal the room inside.
And what I saw made my face freeze in shock.
The room was just like the others I had seen while coming here. A white room with two beds on the opposite sides of the room, two desks beside each bed, and a door in the corner likely leading to a bathroom.
Yet it wasn’t the room that shocked me; it was the person sitting inside the room waving at me.
"You finally woke up. I tried to wake you up for a while on the bus, but you wouldn’t budge, so I left."
"To think we would meet again so soon; I was expecting my new roommate, but who would’ve thought it’d be you?"
I didn’t know what to say. Was this some kind of joke? Not minutes ago, I was thinking of ways to avoid the guy and get him off my back, and now he had been assigned as my roommate.
"Are you okay? You seem a little distressed." Soren asked, looking at my frozen expression.
Oh, screw this.
"It’s nothing; I am just a little tired. I told you, remember." I answered while bringing my face to normal.
"I get that. The battle today really was exhausting. You know, if you are so tired, you should probably take a short nap until dinner. We can go to eat after that."
"No, I just want to have a good night’s sleep. I am actually not very hungry today either, so you should probably go on without me." I smiled and began walking towards my luggage, sitting quietly beside the bed in the right corner.
"Are you sure you don’t want to eat anything? Cause if you are, then I think I’ll just go right now," Soren spoke.
"Yeah, you should go. Don’t worry about me; I am just going to go to sleep." I smiled once again.
"Yeah, alright." Soren nodded and extended his hand to shake mine.
"By the way, my name is Soren Vylar. It’s really nice to meet you."
"Roye Valdrin. It’s nice to meet you, too." I shook his hand with a wide smile on my face.
"Alright, Roye, I guess I’ll see you later." Soren nodded and stepped out the door. He followed him, slowly closing the door behind him.
My smile dropped the moment I heard the lock click shut in front of me.
"What the hell is happening to me?" I cursed out while clutching my face.
First, I was almost manipulated into showing my Salhira in front of hundreds of my classmates. And not even hours after I saved that situation I was lumped into this. Becoming roommates with one of the few people I was supposed to avoid. I mean... what was this shit.
What was I supposed to do now? I couldn’t very well ignore him, could I? Would that even work? He is already trying to become friends with me after what happened in the ruins. I took a deep breath and began calmly analyzing the situation.
Wait, do I even have to do something? Soren was a cautious guy, after all. I could bet my left leg, and he was looking for information regarding me.
Once he finds out my detailed history and my distasteful past, wouldn’t he distance himself from me on his own?
That was a good possibility. Sure, both of us were currently outcasts in our year, but that was bound to change sooner or later. By then, if he had concluded my past as a noble and the possibility of me learning ancient Khravaen, he might have left me alone after all.
It was going to be tricky, though. I couldn’t actively avoid him; that might only increase his suspicions and draw him even closer. The only way I could prevent that was to change my approach from being a stranger to an acquaintance.
Yes, this could work; all I had to do was invite him to stuff we were already supposed to do together, like going to the class together in the morning.
After that, I could simply sit away from him in class and disappear for the rest of the day, only coming to my room to sleep at night. I already had some major plans to complete anyway.
This could work; all I had to do was stay away from him during school hours.
Nodding to myself, I sat down on my bed and took out some of my eating supplies from my spatial storage.
"To think I would be using it on my first day." Shaking my head, I tore open the can and began eating my dinner.
