Chapter 54: Finally Safe

"AAAAAAA!!" A loud scream echoed inside the big room.

Noah sat upright on the bed, his eyes wide open in shock, fear, and a sense of danger.

"Haf... haff... haf..." He gasped for breath as his breathing was ragged. Sweat dripped down his whole body, drenching his clothes. His blue eyes, filled with horror, stared ahead.

Gulp.

He swallowed hard as his hands instantly ran over his body. He checked his muscles, his arms, his chest, and then ran his hands over his neck and whole face.

There were no cracks on his body, just a few bandages here and there.

Only then did he notice his surroundings and feel slightly relieved.

"What the hell happened, Noah?! Why did you scream suddenly?" Regnar asked from beside him in a worried voice, his brows furrowed. It was a familiar voice.

Noah turned and saw Regnar lying on a white bed beside him.

His arms had bandages. The bruises and cuts on his face had been healed.

"Yeah... you okay?" Damien asked from the other side of Noah, looking at him with concern.

On the other side of Noah was another bed, and on that bed was Damien.

"Oh... I..." Noah hesitated.

The memory of finding himself in that unknown place and seeing those two moon-like eyes of an unknown entity flashed in his mind. The pain he felt after looking into those eyes was something he had never experienced before. His whole body had shattered into pieces.

’Was that my dream?’ he thought while still trying to calm himself down.

’It was so real... I can’t believe it was just a dream.’

"Hey, Noah... are you okay?" Damien asked once more, his expression slightly serious.

Pulling Noah out of his thoughts, he replied, "Hm... yes... I am okay... just had a nightmare..."

"Student Noah, what happened?"

Just then, a woman in a white lab coat came towards him. She had black hair and was in charge of the infirmary.

"Oh... I am fine... I just had a bad nightmare." Noah replied.

She observed his complexion—how his body was covered with sweat, his breathing, and his facial expression.

She walked closer to him, then took a soft, clean cloth that was neatly folded and kept on the small table beside Noah’s bed. She started to clean the sweat from his face.

"It seems you really had a bad dream. Well, calm down now... you are no longer in danger," she said gently as she softly wiped his sweat.

Noah didn’t stop her. Finally, his heartbeat started to slow down. He understood that he was in the infirmary and that they were safe now.

The room was huge, with many beds arranged in rows on both sides. Many students were sleeping on them, injured. A few of them were awake, probably because of Noah’s loud yelling.

Soft, dim lights were on at the corners of the room, giving enough light to see while still being dim enough for others to sleep without problems.

His eyes traveled to the clock on the wall.

’It’s 9 o’clock at night.’

The woman wiped his face, then stepped away from him.

"You should rest now. You will be fine by tomorrow," she said calmly.

"Thank you," Noah replied simply.

She gave him a small smile and left.

He lay back on the bed.

"So... will you tell us what dream you saw?" Regnar asked from his bed curiously, tilting his head slightly.

"It was nothing... just saw myself dying... and woke up..." He gave him half answer.

’It was a dream... that lasted less than one minute... yet it felt like hours had passed.’ He thought about how he saw dream for around a minute...but he was unconscious for hours.

"That’s one bad dream you saw," Damien commented, exhaling lightly.

"By the way... what actually happened? I don’t remember... when I fell unconscious," Noah asked.

"Hm... you were fine... no, not fine. You were pretty injured and had lost too much blood, yet you were still standing there with the support of your spear. When I said good job... you smiled... then fell forward onto the ground unconscious," Damien explained calmly.

"Is that so... well, it’s good that we are safe."

"Yeah... the moment you killed that bastard, the barrier broke like glass. And the next moment, the principal came and killed all the monsters in seconds," Regnar said with a slight grin.

"Ohh nice~" Noah commented.

’The fuck? If the principal was here... shouldn’t he be strong enough to break the barrier and enter... or shouldn’t that powerhouse have the strength to teleport inside it?’

Noah didn’t know much about Adrian. But he did know that Adrian was considered one of the strongest beings in this world.

’Hmm... then it must be well planned... the one who created that barrier should be someone as strong as Adrian... or maybe stronger than him.’

Noah tried to make some speculations.

"You are in deep thought again?" Damien said lazily, putting both hands behind his head while staring up at the ceiling.

"I was just thinking about that incident again... well, let’s put that aside... you two seem okay now... where are the others?"

"Look beside me..." Damien said, turning his head to the other side.

On his other side, Leonard was sleeping.

"Wait? He’s here?... is he asleep?" Noah asked in slight surprise.

"I was... but woke up because of you," Leonard replied calmly while facing the other side, lying sideways.

"Sorry about that..." Noah said apologetically.

Then he turned to the right side where Regnar was, and on his other side was Draven, who was in deep slumber.

"That guy didn’t wake up even after I screamed..."

"Yeah... he’s sure in deep sleep," Regnar chuckled while looking at Draven.

"By the way... where is Arisha? Is she okay?" Noah asked, wondering about her and Lyria.

"You already missing me? Well, I am alright. Don’t worry about me," came a calm reply from the beds across them. Her voice was sharp and clear. On the other side, Arisha was lying down. More like resting.

Noah raised his head slightly to look at her.

"I did miss you... hehe," he laughed softly. "Thanks for helping me back then..." He put his head back against the cushion.

"No need to thank me. We all just did what was right at that time..." Arisha replied in her usual cool and indifferent tone.

"Okay. Where is Lyria?"

"I am just beside Arisha," came a gentle voice.

"How are you? You okay?" Noah asked.

"Yes, I am... what about you, Noah? Are you okay now?" she asked gently.

"I am better. Thanks for asking."

’She’s kind and sweet, like always.’

Noah then pushed himself up, trying to get out of bed.

"Where are you going, Noah?" Regnar asked, raising a brow.

"Washroom. Where is it?"

Regnar pointed to the left side.

Noah got up from the bed. His body still ached in pain, but walking was possible.

He walked towards the washroom.
