The divination priest organized a group of priests and knights to follow the assassin’s footsteps and divine her whereabouts. They needed to capture her for interrogation. After all, she had not only infiltrated their midst in the middle of the night but had entered the very room that was supposed to belong to their knight commander.

This attack stirred unease among the priests and knights alike. An ambush in the tavern meant this place was no longer safe. But even more alarming was the discovery that some people were missing. Most notably, Commander Lena, the knight captain, couldn’t be found anywhere.

The priest tried to divine her location, but his weak queries led nowhere. Being a royal knight, Lena’s mystic protection was stronger than most. No simple spell could trace her. The priests realized that, if they wanted answers, they would have to burn themselves—sacrificing their vitality to strengthen the magic.

Normally, this kind of ritual was left to specialized burners, but the one in charge had refused to bring any, claiming, "It’s unethical." Most of the priests agreed with that reasoning, but in desperate situations like this, burners were invaluable.

With no clear direction and the weight of their failure hanging over them, the priests and knights began to argue among themselves. Frustration mounted, and soon their attention shifted to the one person they could lash out at.

"Heretic! Is this your trick?" one of the priests snapped, turning on Reeva, who sat calmly against the wall, observing the chaos unfold.

Reeva let out an audible sigh as the conversation redirected to him.

"Why would I be here if it were my doing?" he asked, his tone flat.

"You’re just here to mock us!" the priest accused, his voice rising.

Another priest chimed in, and Reeva knew this was all bullshit. However, the priest who started it really believed he was onto something. Reeva pondered how to respond—if they decided to use force, he’d still have some time left on [experiment].

Fighting wouldn’t be easy, but in his demon body, he had an edge. His control over the yellow fog was better than in his human form, giving him a big advantage over the priests and knights.

Before things could escalate, another figure arrived. In the dead of night, his clothes shone brightly—Plutus, with his new attire, appeared on the scene.

"Calm down. What happened here? Is the knight alright?"

Plutus had already heard what happened, but he had to see it for himself. Gurang approached, knelt before him, and recounted the events, including how Reeva helped during the assassin’s attack.

The priests weren’t pleased.

"Sir, don’t believe him! The knight has been tricked by the heretic! It’s all staged!"

"Silence," Plutus commanded, his single word carrying endless authority. Reeva was visibly impressed. Compared to the first day he met Plutus, this version was much more menacing.

"So, what is this important message you wanted to deliver to Lady Lena?" Plutus asked.

Gurang explained why they had let Reeva out in the first place. Reeva watched Plutus, noticing the priest’s cold, calm eyes—almost unsettling in their stillness.

"Can we talk privately? I don’t want anyone else hearing this but you," Reeva suggested, realizing that sharing this information with Plutus might not be a bad idea. He could offer some protection now that he was in command.

Plutus stared at him, judgment lingering in the air before he spoke.

"Follow me."

Plutus leads Reeva into a narrow pathway, far from the other priests and knights. It was filled to the brim with snow and a little hard for Reeva to walk on. But after turning the corner they finally have some privacy.

However before Reeva could see anything, Plutus managed to punch him in the face first. Reeva would react by defending but it’s too late. The punch hit him right in the face and ended him tumbling down. However, Reeva also relied on the that this wasn’t meant to be a declaration of war but something.. personal.

"That felt a lot better."

"The hell was that for!?"

Reeva couldn’t help but yell out, he might get a little bruise from that punch. Reeva noted how hard Plutus’s skin was, it seemed rather abnormal for a human to have that kind of skin. But maybe it’s his imagination.

"For bringing me into this hell," Plutus said, "whatever, what so important that would have to tell me personally like this?"

After thinking for something Plutus found that this all happened because of Reeva, after connecting some dots. The pope likely sent him to stop Reeva or to help the guy. Whatever the case something is going on around this guy for sure.

Reeva contemplated for a bit before deciding that this was a good move, he doubted Plutus would execute him. Reeva ue his coldness to feel his way around his body, then he redirects it into his forehead and feels the thing.

The warm feeling spread from his forehead onto all of his body and finally, a symbol glowed on his forehead. It’s the sun torch like always. Shining brightly in the dark.

Plutus’s mouth was agape, out of all the things Reeva could have revealed to him, this is the last he expected from a heretic.

He had read about this in a book, the church educates people very well on this subject matter, if you pay any attention in the class you would know that what Reeva had shown was the Apostle symbol.

It’s the only one located on the forehead. In all of history, Plutus could count on one hand, how many apostles have been selected by the sun god.

The priest could see why Reeva chose not to reveal it, another priest that has no knowledge of this would burn him to death for insulting the cun god by creating that symbol on his body and the one that know would likely choose to now believe it and burn him anyway.

Choosing to Reveal this information Reeva would have to trust that the person wouldn’t make a dumb decision and Plutus is not the one to make dumb decisions.

At least that is what Reeva believes...
