Extra's Perfect Ending-Chapter 183: Glowing door
Klad and Ghaarsh descended the well after Brent had cleared the way. The darkness keeps increasing as they descend down, it would really help if they had come here in the day but last they have no choice.
Arriving here late afternoon was inevitable. Brent had also watched the fight and saw no point in Leon’s struggle. The price has proclaimed that all of them are his people, but in reality, none are.
So Leon struggling to fight felt pointless to him but maybe there was something he couldn’t see. However whatever it is it, better be effective because after he finds this potion and changes Theia’s circle, they’d be cut loose.
And that thing is right down here, in the king’s chamber. At least that’s what it was called in the book.
"What the...!!"
Ghaarsh’s mouth turned agape when he saw what was down here. They have been descending for quite a bit of time since most wells were dug very low to secure water. However, he could never expected what’s down here.
Even with the oil lab shining bright they could only see about a half of the door standing in front of them. Gold trim is all over the place shining when the light of the oil lamb hits them. Brent is also impressed seeing this thing in person have a different effect.
"Why is it here?"
Klad couldn’t help but say that out loud. Drawing Brent and Ghaarsh’s attention.
"You know this door?"
Ghaarsh said enthusiastically, his eyes sparking with curiosity about this place. Who wouldn’t be for such a large door underground that has a golden trim, it screams possible treasure. Brent follows Ghaarsh’s reaction.
"Well.." Klad contemplates whatever he wants to say next. "I read about this in the book, see that symbol over there?"
Klad points at the symbol crave on the door. Brent shines the light closer to get a better look at it. Golden in color the symbol depicted some kind of stars. A 4 pointed star to be exact. The thing was located in the middle of the double door.
"Before the Eyre empire came into existence there was another empire before that. It’s called the Rosan empire. Long story short they were people that believed the world came from the eternal night"
"Eternal night?" The white hair boy never heard this before.
"Yep, it was said that before the sun god, the world was stuck in eternal night and people worship different beings. However, the eternal night vanishes in the rise of the sun god who dispels such curse from the world."

"Wow, you sound just like a priest"
"This is all I’ve read about this empire. But the empire is no less impressive or even more impressive than Eyre since they were able to unite even the northern mountain range into the empire."
"Didn’t know Eyre had such a history, but what do we do about this door then?"
The door was around 3 meters tall and looked very immovable.
"Let’s try pushing it first"
"Already on it" Ghaarsh has been pushing the door even before Brent suggested it, however..."But this thing is like a boulder, a giant one that I can’t push!!!!"
Ghaarsh gave it another try but the door didn’t even move.
"Let’s help"
Klad gives his word and helps Ghaarsh push against the door. Putting down the oil lamp, Brent joined the effort. The three of them make a stressful face as they try their hardest to push the door open. However, nothing seems to work.
"Maybe it’s not the way?" As suggested by Brent who didn’t want to be pushing anymore, he is the royal prince so his strength is not that great. Klad looks at him and asks.
"What do you want to do?"
"Let’s look around first."
The door was wide enough that they couldn’t see each end with their tiny light source. Brent picks up the oil lamb after setting it on the side and shines it over the door hoping to find something.
Kland and Ghaarh follow him since they don’t have any more light sources. In order to be sneaky they only brought one of the oil lambs they had. However, in hindsight, they should have brought three instead since there’s no harm in having more light.
The trio walks around a bit and doesn’t seem to find anything, the door Is perfectly clean. Other than the golden symbol that had been carved onto the door, there really was nothing, no puzzle to solve, and no secret button to press.
Brent searched for a bit on the side, beside the wall there was only dirt, a solid dirt that had been exposed to air. Klad knocked on the thing about three times checking if there was a secret compartment.
But the walls are as solid as ever.
"There seems to be nothing here. did you find anything?"
"Nothing at all"
Ghaash is in the corner smelling something. But all he could get was a scent of dirt all over his nose. He could tell that this hole was dug a long time ago but that’s it. When the group explores all the options, Brent decides to peak up.
"Wait.... did you say that there was an eternal night?"
Conveniently, Brent blurts out his suspicion.
"Yep..."
After Brent said the word, something clicked inside Klad’s mind but Brent beat him to it.
"Then how could the people read in the dark?"
After voicing what’s hes’ thinking Brent opens the oil lamp glass case and blows out the flames. Instantly the world went dark and their eyes started to adjust. However, before any of that could happen they also see something.
The room that has been previously dark before has been lit up, blue light replacing the orange light of the oil lamp providing a bit of vision on the door.
"Wow"
Brent hearing Ghaarsh marvel at the sight, seeing this is rather mystical. The door that had been smooth as tofu before lit up blue, the color scattered across the entire door. Approaching it fast, the white hair boy looks into the blue light shining.
"Hey, I think this is a letter! They’re writing something "
Klad follows and looks at the blue light, it noodles around like it is alive but it’s undeniably something that was written.
"It really is..."
