"Die!"

Jell shouted and charged into the monster, hoping he could do something to it. However, his sword again, bounced off the monster. On the other side, Oven also charged in again, preparing his sword to price its eyes. His blade came full swing, but he missed.

More accurately the monster just moved from its position. Its wing spread wide and took off leaving the three of them to look in the sky with shock and guilt. Despite their strength and skill, it was basically useless when trying to save the kid.

"Come back here!"

Oven couldn’t let this go, he sprinted after the flying monster.

"What are you doing!?"

Holen tried to hold the knight back but he was one step too late. His armor clanks as he runs after the flying monster. Climbing over the rubbles and going after the kid. Jell looked over to Holen, waiting for his order.

Holen looked back at the place where he found an anomaly for a second.

"Do you see the distortion there?"

The detective pointed at the slight misalignment in the reality that he had seen earlier. Jell looked where the detective was pointing and found something.

"Is that...?"

"It’s likely the door"

"Are we..." Jell looked at the detective, didn’t know what to feel about this.

"No, I only told you because if I die, you could escape" Holen looked at Jell "Let’s follow Oven"

Jell let out a bit of a giggle before running after Holen. They spend five minutes running and running across the rubbles of table wear. After a bit of time, they came across many monsters but for some reason, the abomination didn’t notice them.

This situation was bizarre for Holen, he came across so many monsters, some of them even looked directly at Holena and Jell. But instead of chasing them, the various monsters went about their day like nothing happened.

Holen wondered if he saw it right, but at some point, he just stopped worrying about them. Since Oven who’s running ahead didn’t get into trouble, they shouldn’t be in trouble either. They ran like this for longer and longer.

Until they reached a point where they had to climb, the table that had been split in half provided a natural vantage point; the location that would typically be the table’s edge was propped up high due to the way the table was divided.

They witnessed the creature fly high into the sky and over the edge of the table. Finally, they caught up with Oven, who remained at the bottom of the table.

"Oven!"

The knight looked back at who called them.

"You guys...." The knight felt better after seeing the two of them.

"Don’t talk, let’s climb and save Kanku first"

Oven was about to say something but nodded when Holen suggested.

"You heard what he said, we needed your help" Sanchez returned his focus to Cindy. This time, his gaze scorched through her like the sun itself. She was intimidated but did not back down.

"You bunch of empire people are liars! You do not have any evidence for any of your claims."

"Our words are our truth, and the apostle would never lie. Otherwise, he would be sentenced to death immediately. And you have no option; our deity is more powerful than yours."

"You..."

"Shut up!" Sanchez yelled. "We are here not to fight with you, people! If we wanted to wipe you out, our force could do that easily. your force would not stand a chance." Thi time, Sanchez’s words felt like a needle that pierced Cindy’s heart. The fact i that there’s no one in her tribe that could stand up to Nena now was not a good sign.

Cindy shut up. When Sanchez was speaking, she felt immense pressure on her—like a hot iron pressing on her chest.

"..."

"And now you believed his word!?" Nena protested! She said the same thing but the tribeswoman did not want to cooperate, but now that the cardinal said it, suddenly she looked meek and agreeable.

Sanchzes glared at Nena subtly, the woman who was about to go off on a rant suddenly shut up. She knew better than to mess around on such a serious matter.

"Do you know why you survived this long when there’ are other people stronger than you? It’s not like the sun can’t shine on this place to some belief that you had. No, it’s a direct order of the sun god to spare you."

"Speared.. us?" Cindy mutters in disbelief. She wanted to deny such claims but there was the existence of Nena who was now better than her and this stranger who seemed more powerful suggesting that the un church could launch an assault on them and win.

However, after she thought about it more her heart beat faster and faster... her whole life battling the empire. Is it all a lie? If the emptied could stump them out of this map at any time then what point does all this fighting achieve?

Her mind felt like it was about to explode, her whole world was falling apart bit by bit. However, in her dark moment, two hands press on her face and produce a warm glow. It eases her a bit and brings her back from her thoughts.

Her eye could see the world clearly again, and in front of her was Sanchez. She slap his hand away and back off a bit.

"Then why... did your god spare us?"

"I don’t know" Sanchez shrugged, he didn’t really know what his god was up to. Ultimately he didn’t care about such a thing "Maybe he felt pity, maybe he felt lonely but he did order us to spare you. even the sun god plans to cooperate with your god. Just cooperate with us"

"...." Cindy felt her head spinning her world star changing bit by bit, the demon that was the sun god felt more... sinister than before. They were like a rabbit that was lowly domesticated by wolves.

"I will cooperate, only if you cease the attack"

"You might have noticed this long ago but the church did not attack the trib anymore. It’s only the empire that had launched the attack."

"Don’t play what me. You could call them off if you’re this powerful"

Sanchez squeezed his eyes. At this point, the church no longer controlled the fight against the North people. Calling it off means stepping on a lot of toes, and the church’s reputation could suffer as a result.

Countless people died while fighting over the border, while countless others were involved in the conflict. If the church calls them off, there may be an uprising of additional heretics who need to be removed.

The church was brutal in its ways, no doubt, but the majority of heretics deserved their anger. People who would be upset by the decision to end the conflict would be dissatisfied with it. Both the tribe and the empire would not be satisfied.

Both sides of the fight harbored so many resentments that it was difficult to address them all. Even if the leader quit, there was no guarantee that the individuals would not go out of their way to murder one another.

"I could try, but there is no guarantee, You know it would be hard"

"Fine" Cindy couldn’t hope for better, as the person who resents the empire she understood what kind of anger the people felt. But the benefit of not losing more people outweigh them. "What do you want to know?"

"Is there a suspicious individual with you?" Reeva was the one who asked. The god simply revealed the location where the mother’s activities took place. Other than that, he couldn’t see clearly. If Reeva had to estimate why the information was so hazy, he would claim it was due to the overcast that obscured the northern country.

"Suspicious individual?"

"The sun god led me to a cave around that place. We found a trace that people were staying I thought you would have some idea"

"Humm...." She thought about it for a second "There was a group of empire people that came here recently"

"Oh?" Sanchez’s eyebrows raised "Who are they?"

"Two of them was a woman and one of them was a guy. They came in along with my husband"

Updated from freewёbnoνel.com.

"Are one a teen and another an adult with a maid costume?"

Cindy’s eyes widened when she heard Reeva’s description.

"You know them?"

"It’s my friends" Reeva was a bit relieved that Theia and Hilda were still alive and kicking.

"Then is the guy that was immortal your friend too?"

"What?" Reeva felt a bit surprised "You’re not talking about Leo?"

"No? Why would that idiot be suspicious? He’s only pretending to be from the empire. The person called himself Athan, and from what I’ve gathered he’s immortal"

"Athan?" Reeva felt even more surprised "That guy that has a scar on his mouth"

"So you knew him?"

"Where is he now?" Reeva approached Cindy, making her feel uncomfortable. His voice felt more urgent than before.

"He’s travel to Carmel Peak"

"Fuck" Reeva did not like that answer one bit.
