God of Money: Reincarnated as the Weakest SSS Rank-Chapter 65: She lost
Chapter 65: She lost
Rebecca glanced sideways.
"I heard you were killed." She spoke.
Under the straw hat, Louis smiled.
"You think I’d die that easily?" He asked.
She shrugged.
"So what you did was use the explosion to get rid of the contract binding I gave you, huh?"
"Haha, sorry, I don’t like ties."
Rebecca then turned a little to get a better look at him and smiled.
"How about if I want to tie you to me, then?" she asked. Slipping her hand underneath and intertwining it with Louis’, she revealed what she was referring to.
Louis frowned. There was a moment he didn’t know what to do, but it was only an instant, as he had not expected that reaction.
He relaxed his frown and smiled softly as he moved closer to her ear.
"Physically, you’re fine, and straight girls are attractive. But your name..." He smiled. "I find it repulsive lately." He scoffed.
But he wasn’t going to leave that there. He gave her a soft kiss on the cheek in an unexpected move. "It has nothing to do with you, though, really. Just that you can’t tie me to you, no one can tie me down anymore. You’ll have to settle for that."
His whisper and the gesture of the kiss on her cheek sent currents through Rebecca’s body.
She quickly pulled away from him, looking at him in shock.
She hadn’t expected him to do that in front of so many people watching her.
Where the hell would her reputation go?
Originally, she just wanted to show that she was in charge here and that, even though he had destroyed the contract, she could still play with him and tie him back somehow.
But his reaction was not typical. At least she hadn’t expected it.
So Elliot shrugged and returned his gaze to the front.
The horses were no longer within his field of vision.
"Although the contract was destroyed, I won’t go against your words. That’s why I’m here." He spoke. "If you want to bet, now is the time. I’ll bet on the 13th horse."
She stared at him for a while but eventually sighed, realizing that she had failed miserably at what she had wanted to do.
So, she ignored her earlier loss and approached him again, ignoring the words of those who had seen the little exchange.
"How much is the bet? I’ll bet mine wins. It’s number 11."
"Just say a number and I’ll match it. Don’t worry about the zeros."
Rebecca turned to look at him. The nonchalant way he said it made her think that he really didn’t care in the least about the amounts.
Even to her, the apple of the eye of a powerful Banker Clan in the Empire, certain amounts of money in a single bet were forbidden.
"What if I tell you I want to bet 10 billion?" she asked suddenly, wanting to prove it.
Louis knew it. "Can you match it?" He asked, grinning.
"I don’t know, do you want me to match it?"
"Hahaha." Louis laughed because she was testing him on this.
He could be tested on magic, strength, or anything else related to this world, but not money.
Who was he?
The God of Money himself. Although he is only in his initial stages right now, you can’t test the God of Money, much less when that God can create missions just by wishing for them.
So he smiled and pulled out 10 money cards of a billion each.
"Will you match it?"
Rebecca frowned.
There was a moment when she couldn’t react, but then she simply averted her gaze and pulled out her money cards.
At the sight of them, Louis smiled.
In the end, she had withdrawn.
Elliot put away half of the cards he had pulled out as he watched his system announce that he had finally earned a stat point by spending money.
All of those cards he had bought were just at this moment.
As the race continued, the two continued to talk quietly, even though $5 billion was at stake on both sides.
"Is the running horse your own?" asked Louis.
She nodded. "She’s my mare, and her rider is my half-sister. I’ve trained them both personally."
"Awesome, do you know how to train them?"
"Haha, my dad and I have a great passion for horse racing, so we like to train to participate. We don’t normally aim for much, but I’m sure she can make it as long as she’s that mare. She’s special herself, and she’s very well behaved, plus she has quite a developed ego."
"Is she a magical beast?"
"No, just a wild animal with a lot of training."
"Oh." He looked interested in that. He was also passionate about horse racing.
Also, to make it fairer, horse racing here didn’t happen with magical beasts, and that’s why he was surprised earlier when he asked about it.
Only normal wild beasts could compete.
That kept the essence of the horse racing he knew and made it much more entertaining.
It was a bit unfortunate because he wanted to see how interesting it was to watch a horse race with the magical beasts, but he had nothing to do. Looks like he won’t be seeing them for now.
The horse Elliot had bet on belonged to the House of Shadows, was very well trained, and its rider was quite good. But he didn’t know if it could win against a rich girl’s personal horse.
He had to wait to find out.
The race continued for over 1 hour, until finally the horses began to come into view. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel-com
Two were coming in front of everyone. They both had their own competitions to run.
They were not racing against each other; they were simply racing against their partner.
The difference between them and the rest was unbelievable, to the point that many gasped for air when they saw their superiority.
Many of them stood up in shock.
Something extraordinary was about to happen.
Staring at the incoming horses and the time marked on a large clock set on large fences on either side, they took a deep breath.
They forgot to breathe momentarily, as the two people in front of them were on the verge of breaking the previous record for completing this race by quite a wide margin.
And they did not disappoint. Soon, those two horses were galloping strongly and crossing the finish line quickly.
"We have a new record!" Shouted the referee.
