“Body Enhancement Spell!”

Yang Yi’s mana had already recovered a few points. As he cast the spell, his right arm suddenly swelled, skin tearing open as it grew to three times its original size.

The iron chains snapped apart, and a blood-soaked wolf claw seized that writhing tongue. His sharp claws pierced straight through it, the grip so powerful it nearly severed it, pinkish blood splattering out.

“Believe it or not, I can rip you right out!”

Yang Yi sat up, voice deep and guttural. His wolfish face was twisted into a snarl, exposing two rows of razor-sharp teeth.

The tongue froze, trembling silently.

A few seconds later, Yang Yi released it. The tongue recoiled like a frightened snake, retreating into his abdomen. The wound on his stomach instantly healed over.

Beside it lay a glass tube, apparently expelled from his body, smeared with traces of half-digested residue.

Suna was still unconscious.

Yang Yi didn’t wake her. Instead, he immediately pulled out two pieces of super delicious cake and devoured them to ease the hunger. But eating delicacies to fight hunger was like drinking poison to quench thirst.

The feeling subsided for only ten seconds before coming back even stronger. Gourmet food made it worse, not better! He had to resist.

Yang Yi tried to suppress it with sheer willpower, his wolf claws gouging deep marks into the metal table.

But the hunger only grew, intensifying to madness.

And Suna... she was starting to look delicious.

He could almost smell the sweetness pulsing through the veins beneath her pale neck, flowing warmly just under her skin.

“Rrraaagh!”

Yang Yi let out a feral howl.

The noise finally jolted Suna awake from her daze.

The moment her eyes opened, she saw the wolf-like Yang Yi crouched before her like a beast, his golden slit-pupiled eyes glowing green, saliva dripping from his fanged maw.

Suna began, but he cut her off.

“Quick! Think of something! I can’t stop it, I’m starving! I’m about to lose control!”

Yang Yi grabbed several cans of black bread from his Charred Worm Ring and swallowed them whole, cans and all, producing a gruesome crunching sound.

“Either you tie me up, quickly, or…”

He turned towards the lab door, ready to flee the Nightmare Star.

Suna, regaining her composure in seconds, pulled a thick syringe from her storage pouch, its liquid glowing a deep blue.

“This is…”

Yang Yi recognised it. It looked familiar, something he had seen in a dream.

“Sleeping Potion! I made twenty bottles before, kept two for myself. Injection works faster than drinking it. It’ll put you to sleep in seconds!”

Suna explained, clearly prepared for this.

Yang Yi nodded and dispelled his wolf form, and she quickly jabbed him with the syringe.

The moment the blue liquid entered his veins, a wave of drowsiness washed over him.

“Don’t fight it, or it won’t work,” Suna reminded him softly.

Yang Yi tasted that familiar sweetness in his mouth, offered no resistance, and collapsed into deep slumber, sleeping soundly, peacefully.

The hunger could not break through the enchantment of that sleep.

With Yang Yi finally quiet, the lab returned to silence, though in complete disarray.

Suna glanced around at the mess he’d made.

The two metal tables were clearly warped, their surfaces carved with claw marks, completely unusable. Blood stains and various smears covered the surface. The floor was even worse, splattered with digestive fluid that needed cleaning.

She looked towards the box in the corner containing the Fruit of Bounty, checked the time, then walked over to add more concentrated gastric fluid.

“One metal table costs ten thousand shell coins... and now I’ve got to replace two!“

Suna frowned, deciding she’d demand compensation once Yang Yi woke up.

All the lab equipment, aside from the initial starter tools, had to be purchased with shell coins.

And since she often broke instruments herself, or bought expensive items later found useless, the rate at which she burned through money was terrifyingly fast.

If recycled, its value would only be 10%, and even less if it was damaged.

Suna glanced at the motionless Yang Yi, holding the witch’s dagger once more.

It was a good opportunity, she could finally take a look and see what was really inside his stomach.

The dagger’s blade approached Yang Yi’s belly, ready to cut, but just before touching the skin, it suddenly stopped.

Suna turned her head towards the sleeping man and changed her mind. If she woke him up, it would be troublesome. He could get angry, and it’d be hard to explain.

So she pulled the dagger back and decided on another approach. She reached out and touched the small, charred worm curled around Yang Yi’s left hand.

She remembered that Yang Yi once had a suspicious red gemstone that he had hidden away secretly.

That was probably something he got from one of those capsule draws, and the fact that he hid it meant it was important. She was curious.

‘Just a quick look couldn’t hurt…’

Suna accessed the information of the Charred Worm Ring, but she couldn’t use it, as it was still bound to Yang Yi. Unless she pulled it off, it was inaccessible.

She tugged at it twice, but it wouldn’t budge. Instead, Yang Yi stirred, suddenly pulling his left hand back and pressing it under his body.

Suna froze, holding her breath, thinking he’d woken up.

Thankfully, he hadn’t. Yang Yi continued sleeping soundly, merely reacting on instinct to someone touching his belongings.

“So alert, even in sleep!”

Suna cursed under her breath and decided to try again another time.

Eight hours later, Yang Yi finally woke.

The sleeping potion’s effect hadn’t lasted long, probably because it had been injected rather than drunk.

He found himself still lying on the metal table. Suna was nowhere to be seen. His left hand was pinned beneath his body, completely numb, his posture stiff and awkward.

Yang Yi immediately grew alert. He checked the Charred Worm Ring, especially for the Stone of Truth. Seeing nothing was missing, he sighed in relief.

“Suna?”

He called out, but there was no answer.

She probably wasn’t inside the cabin. There was noise above him, on the deck, she was likely up there.

He got up and walked over to the box containing the Fruit of Bounty. After touching it and reading the data, his face lit up with joy.

“Finally got it!”

After all the effort, nearly losing his life, Yang Yi had finally obtained the Fruit of Bounty! He could upgrade the Nightmare Star to Level 4.

But before upgrading, he’d need to get the ship out of the forest first.

Checking the time, he realised that over ten hours had passed since he’d returned to the Nightmare Star.

His private message channel was overflowing, with Shen Guanquan and the others having sent countless messages. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

Most of them were asking how things were going, or if he needed help.

Since Yang Yi hadn’t replied for so long, the New World Fleet was already on its way.

The Farmer ship’s abnormal state had been lifted, but it was still trapped, just like the Nightmare Star, inside the forest.

“I fell asleep for a bit, sorry. Didn’t get a chance to reply,” Yang Yi messaged Shen Guanquan privately, telling him the Corpse Whale incident was over, though cleaning up the leftover forest would take some time.

He asked Shen to bring some people over, so that way, they could dismantle the forest faster.

Then Yang Yi looked down at his stomach.

After that earlier incident, the Gluttonous Maw seemed much tamer, more cooperative.

He could clearly feel something inside his belly, like an indigestible stone, bitter in taste.

Opening his mouth, a long, thin tongue slithered up his throat, revealing at its tip a transparent, mucus-wrapped egg, emerald green, glimmering like a gemstone.

Meanwhile, aboard the Hope, hundreds of Level-4 ships, along with the Ironhead, were heading toward the Farmer’s coordinates.

“Asleep, huh…?”

Shen Guanquan didn’t buy it for a second. He was sure Yang Yi was lying.
