The Nightmare Star followed the path the Ironhead had cleared and sailed out of the forest. Outside was a neatly arranged fleet of 472 ships of various sizes, all ordinary vessels.

At the front was the Hope, now upgraded to level five, a steam-powered ironclad that stood out immediately.

The fleet was keeping a safe distance of about a kilometer from the forest. Many of the sailors on board were using binoculars to watch the opening in the trees.

“They’re coming out, they’re coming out!”

“That’s the One-Eyed guy’s ship…?”

The Ironhead led the way, followed by a skeletal ship with multiple cracks along its hull, and then two ordinary ships behind it.

“A bone ship!”

“And look at those moving bone arms, they’re repairing the hull! What the hell!”

A wave of hushed excitement rippled through the fleet.

After all, they were about to see a legendary player, One-Eye, known by many as the strongest being on the sea, at least according to his fans.

But when they saw the two figures standing at the Nightmare Star’s bow...

“Wait, One-Eye’s a woman? That fat guy next to her must be her hired muscle. Looks pretty intimidating, I’ll give him that!”

“That woman’s wearing sunglasses, she looks amazing! I swear she’s beautiful.”

“Damn, I like her already!”

“Hold up… that fat guy looks like he’s got an eyepatch. You don’t think he’s One-Eye, do you?”

“No way. That can’t be right.”

“Didn’t he get hit by that Craving of Taste debuff before?”

“Huh?”

It was as if the collective illusion of an idol had shattered.

The chatter didn’t stop.

Yang Yi and Suna stood at the bow.

Suna wore a pair of handmade sunglasses and a neatly tailored witch’s outfit, giving her a sharp, striking look. In reality, the glasses were just darkened crystal lenses she’d made herself to hide her red eyes. So naturally, many assumed she was the captain.

Yang Yi, being tall and round, looked more like a bodyguard, or a hired brute. Some even thought he was a summoned creature or a monster.

Only two people aboard the Hope saw things differently.

Shen Guanquan kept his eyes fixed on Yang Yi. At the same time, he used his telescope to inspect the Nightmare Star’s deck, focusing on the bone arms.

They worked with remarkable efficiency, even embedding themselves into the ship to patch the hull.

Then there was Suna.

Shen Guanquan wasn’t surprised to see that One-Eye had a helper, though he did think one person seemed too few.

The other man staring intently at Yang Yi was a scruffy old fellow in a white lab coat.

He held a makeshift telescope, studying Yang Yi from head to toe like he’d found a priceless specimen, while completely ignoring Suna.

“Captain! One-Eye’s that fat? He must have eaten tons of gourmet substances! But he hasn’t gone mad, so he must be hiding some kind of secret. If we could get a sample of his blood or tissue… it’d be priceless for my research!”

The old man was the Doctor, a recent addition to the New World fleet. Nobody knew his real name, or whether he was even a real doctor, but that’s what everyone called him.

He was thirty-four but already looked twice that age, unkempt and gaunt, like a man of sixty-eight.

“Go stay in the cabin,” Shen Guanquan told him, not wanting him to say something that would cause trouble.

The Doctor obeyed and disappeared below deck.

Ten minutes later, the Nightmare Star approached the Hope.

Before anyone on the Hope could lay down a plank bridge, Yang Yi crouched slightly and leapt across the gap, landing directly on the deck.

Over 700 pounds of mass hit the Hope’s bow in an instant, shaking the entire ship like an earthquake. The deck groaned under the impact, as if it might give way at any moment.

But it was only the sound that was alarming, the ironclad ship was solid and showed no sign of warping.

Yang Yi quickly spotted Shen Guanquan not far away. He walked over and extended his right hand.

“Nice to meet you, Mr. Shen.”

Shen Guanquan was a little surprised.

He hadn’t expected Yang Yi to pick him out of the crowd so easily.

Still, he maintained his composure and met the gesture with equal confidence.

“Nice to meet you.”

It was their first time speaking face to face, and the contrast between them was striking.

Shen Guanquan stood about 1.7 metres tall, while Yang Yi was enormous by comparison, practically a different species.

A few strands of white hair showed through on Shen’s head, and his calm, deliberate manner carried a quiet sense of authority.

But Yang Yi was completely unaffected.

【The opponent has resisted Psychological Suggestion and Great Leader effects.】

Shen Guanquan’s eyebrows lifted slightly, disbelief flashing in his eyes.

It was the first time he had ever seen that kind of system prompt. Both of those talents were permanent passives that usually activated automatically.

If someone could resist them, it meant Yang Yi’s mental stats were exceptionally high, far higher than his own.

Meanwhile, on the surrounding ships, the sailors were still reeling.

The fat man had jumped across three metres so easily, so it didn’t compute.

“You’ve got to be kidding me. That fat guy is One-Eye?”

“He’s way too agile for his size…”

“That’s prejudice! You’re judging him by looks alone! You realise being fat at sea is proof of power, right? It means his ship has so much food that he literally can’t finish it all. Think about that!”

The man’s argument was so earnest that no one could find a good retort.

Yang Yi and Shen Guanquan continued discussing business.

Their main topic was the Farmer and how to get that ship out of its current predicament.

Yang Yi explained the situation: there were still some strange plants inside the Farmer.

The forest sprites had been dealt with, but the plants remained and could attack anyone boarding the ship, so caution was needed.

He also mentioned where the Farmer was located, not on the sea, but at the top of the forest, about five hundred metres above sea level.

“Ten tons of sea salt,” Yang Yi said.

“I’ll bring the Farmer down to the water for you. After that, it’s up to you.”

The Nightmare Star had burned through most of its salt reserves in this operation. Only eight tons remained in the ship’s hold; a dangerous shortage.

Shen Guanquan thought for a couple of minutes, then nodded and agreed to the deal. He said he’d transfer one million Shell Coins together with the ten tons of salt afterwards.

If the New World fleet had to do the job themselves, it would take a lot of time to tear down the forest, with possible losses along the way. Letting Yang Yi handle it was a much better bargain.

As for burning it, Shen Guanquan had already ruled that out. Everyone who’d tried that before was dead.

Yang Yi nodded and returned to the Nightmare Star, ordering the Ironhead to lead the way back into the forest.

Once they reached the Farmer’s coordinates and cleared a wide enough area, he would take action to bring the ship down.
