Is Gayoon Hyung being for real?

Ki Gayoon was bleeding because of the stone spears that pierced through his body. The Esper had pulled out all of the stone pears that impaled him earlier, but the holes in his body remained.

And pulling out the stone spears must have hurt.

"Yes, but you have powers?"

"As you witnessed earlier, there are times when our powers don’t work on the enemy," Ki Gayoon explained casually. "And there are times when we have to kill normal Civilians. Using a normal weapon suffices then."

"We’re lucky that your gun worked on Jacob Hyung-nim."

"It’s second nature for Espers to cover our bodies with Mana like armor. That’s why Espers have tough bodies," Ki Gayoon explained. "But that bastard with an ugly English name didn’t cover his body with Mana."

"Well, it’s kind of hard for Guides to use our Mana that way," Yuno said. "Of course, our bodies are tougher than normal Civilians, but that’s only because we awakened. But wearing Mana like armor is pretty hard. We keep our Mana in our Core to keep it pure, after all."

"Right. And I used that to my advantage," the Esper said while nodding. "Fortunately, you two both thought I was already a goner while confronting each other. That allowed me to give a surprise attack."

"We got lucky then."

"Luck is the best skill to have, Yuno-ya. There are many strong Espers in the past that died simply because of bad luck."

Yuno nodded, agreeing with the Esper. "Gayoon Hyung?"

"Oh, right. We’re talking about what to eat earlier. How does lobster sound?"

"Lobsters sound good, and you really like me me, don’t you?"

Ki Gayoon raised an eyebrow, obviously surprised by Yuno’s randomness. "And the feeling is mutual, isn’t it?"

"You almost went on a Rampage because you thought I was a goner, didn’t you?"

"It’s normal for a Guide to worry about their Esper in that situation, Hyung."

"Noh Yuno, don’t be afraid of your jinx," Ki Gayoon said, smiling— and it was his rare, genuine smile, at that. "I can like you, and you can like me. I promise none of us would die just because we have feelings for each other."

Haaah.

This Hyung really knows what to say to get rid of my anxieties.

"Hyung, I... Hyung!"

Ki Gayoon suddenly fainted.

Of course, Yuno caught his Esper, but his unconscious Esper was heavier than expected.

He almost fell to the floor, however...
