Turning, he saw a carriage approaching them; the closer it got, the slower the horses moved.
At the forefront he saw a man sitting, holding the reins of the horses, guiding them to slow down before they ultimately came to a complete stop right behind Azreal and Olivia
Letting go of the reins, the man looked them both up and down before asking them something that neither of them would come to accept would help them immensely
He had long blond hair, styled in a ponytail that reached his upper back. He had dark blue eyes, and his skin was undoubtedly originally an unblemished white tone, but it looked as if he had been in the sun for way too long, as it now had an almost tan-like tone.
he was wearing a black fabric cloak over his normal clothes that had several straps that held his bags.
His hands were covered in deep black gloves
Putting the carriage to a complete halt, he turned to Azrael and Olivia, examining them before saying
"If I may ask, what are you two travelers doing out here all alone without a carriage? You do know that there have been multiple reported bandit sightings around here, don’t you"?
Seeing that he was trying to talk to them, they had two options: either try to talk to him or
Kill him
And Olivia quickly chose the first option before Azrael could pick the second
"Oh sorry, we were recently robbed of all our belongings, so we weren’t able to rent a carriage, much less buy one, so we have been making the journey to the next town on foot"
Her answer only served to make the man even more confused as he looked at them like they were absolute nut cases
Which for the most part, wasn’t exactly wrong
"Am sorry miss, you said you are trying to walk to the next town?"
"Yes, is that a problem?"
This time it wasn’t the man who answered her but a woman’s voice that came from the back of the carriage
"Yes of course it’s a problem"
Pulling the curtain that separated the back from the front, a woman showed her face before continuing
"You two are trying to make a 5-day journey on foot on a path that is infested with bandits and you don’t even appear to have any camping equipment, one would think you’re mad, or you just want to die so which is it"
The woman had long blond hair just like the man but hers was not only way longer reaching to her lower back but it was also a brighter shade of blond.
Her eyes appear to be a unique faded green color
Her robes were a forest green color with the same type of underclothes as the man’s.
Seeing that she was taking it too far the man quickly jumped in
"Am sorry for my wife she can be a bit.... Much sometimes"
But Olivia didn’t really take much offense to it anyway, I mean she wasn’t wrong
"It’s no problem really, and as for your question it’s just that we had no idea that it would be a five-hour journey or anything about the bandit sittings"
"Oh my apologies that makes sense"
He replied only for his wife to immediately respond
"What no it doesn’t kyro, how can you not know that, I can understand the bandits because not everyone is registered with the adventurers’ guild but how can you not know the journey is so long"
Choosing to ignore her he instead asked them
"So how about you just come with us since we’re going in that direction anyway this way you’ll get there faster and we can protect you from the bandits"
And that is when Azreal finally spoke
No thanks, but we appreciate it nonetheless..."
But before he could finish his actual answer Olivia had already accepted the offer
"Sure we would love to if you don’t mind"
"Hahaha of course not, it’s no trouble at all we have plenty of space, honey can you open the back of the carriage, we have company"
Turning to the back of the carriage they saw a new brown-skinned woman getting out from within the carriage
She had long curly black hair that went down to her lower back, intense brown eyes, and her skin was almost the same tone as Azrael’s, but just slightly lighter in shade
She wore the same green robe as the other women but unlike the other two, she was the only one who wore armor underneath it.
Coming from out of the carrige she said nothing just opening up the back to let them in
"Sorry about her, she doesn’t talk much around new people"
"Oh it’s no problem, apparently I have the same problem with this one" Olivia replied giving a side eye to Azreal who said nothing.
Climbing into the back of the carriage they saw three more people present
A young man who looked like a carbon copy of the man up front but... much brighter from his hair to his skin everything looked much more drenched in color.
He was sitting down in the corner with a brown-skinned woman with her head lying on his lap sleeping.
"Oh my bad, let me introduce everyone"
"My name is Kyro Emberfang, this lovely woman is named Selena, my first wife" he said turning towards the woman with blond hair to whom she just waved
"The beautiful one who opened the carriage door is my second wife Mia" she said nothing.
"The man back there is my dimwitted younger brother Skylar Emberfang, you can just ignore him he can get a bit annoying"
"Hey it that any way to speak about your amazing younger brother, old man"
"How many times do I have to tell you stop calling me that, your just five years younger than me you jackass"
Seeing the brothers argue Azreal involuntarily let out a small smile"
"That woman in his lap sleeping is his wife Eva, I don’t know why she married him"
"Oh and the one sitting in the corner is nova"
Turning towards the corner he was referring to they saw a woman who was already staring directly at them
Her eyes were a mesmerizing honey gold, and her curly hair was a mix of black and honey gold
Her skin was beautiful bronze, she was the only one of the group who didn’t have any robe
At their side was set a massive war hammer.
She held the duo’s gaze for a full 2 minutes before looking away.
"My name is Olivia and this lovely gentleman is"
"Azreal"
"Oh so you can talk, I was beginning to think you were mute, now that introductions are over let’s get moving"
Turning around he grabbed the reins and pulled making the horses start to move once again.
Setting them onto the path to the next town of the Nazar kingdom, Graykeep.
