Her Dark Desires-Chapter 31: I Don’t Like You Either

After speaking to her Grandmother, Eliana thought of going home but later decided to go to the Sanders group instead.

Upon getting there, she called Zach, but there was no answer, she then decided to call Ethan, who answered the call in one ring.

"Elia.....Mrs Sanders." Ethan changed his tone immediately. He remembered that the woman on the phone was now his boss’s wife.

"I’m in front of the Sanders group, and I wanted to know if I can meet Zach today."

Ethan sighed and said, "I will be right there."

Eliana nodded and ended the call.

A few minutes later, she saw Ethan coming her way. He stood in front of her and said "Mr Sanders is in a meeting now and has asked that you wait for him in his office."

"All right," Eliana said and followed him to an elevator.

"This is his private elevator that leads directly to his office and no one is allowed to use it except for him and now you," Ethan said as he adjusted his glasses.

Eliana decided to cut the elevator silence with a question, "Do you still hate me?"

"Who cares what I think? I heard you are Henry’s real daughter and was exchanged with Amber at birth. So technically, it was you who was betrothed to Mr. Sanders and not Amber."

"You pity her." Eliana stated " I can hear it in your voice"

"Did you know that she attempted suicide on your wedding day?" Ethan asked with a frown.

Eliana rested her back on the elevator and replied "So I heard. If she was dead, news about it would have spread by now, but since there is no news, I guess she is still alive."

"You are so heartless. How did he even fall for someone like you? You not only drugged him to sleep with you but you also found a way to show up around him and started an affair with him while he was still engaged to your sister." Ethan said in disgust.

"So you do still resent me."

"How could I? I dare not resent the mother of the heir to the Sanders empire." Ethan spoke sarcastically.

Eliana laughed softly when she heard his sarcastic tone and said, "I don’t like you either. You are too judgemental for my liking. I wonder how such a gullible man like you works with Zach."

Ethan turned to glare at her and was about to comment when the elevator opened. He swallowed back his words and led her to Zachary’s office.

"I don’t know how long the meeting will take, so enjoy your time waiting for him." Ethan said and was about to leave when Eliana said "Kindly get me a glass of juice and also some cookies."

Ethan looked at her for a moment before nodding his head and left.

Eliana walked to the table and saw the lunch box she had given to Ethan to give to him this morning, she opened it and sighed when she saw that the food was untouched.

"It must be cold by now. How busy is he that he couldn’t even eat?" Eliana asked herself and closed back the food.

A few minutes later, a woman came in with a glass of juice and a plate of cookies, but Eliana had already lost her appetite in eating. It was 3 pm, and she was sure Zach hadn’t eaten a thing since morning; why was he so busy anyway?

Eliana sat in his seat and touched her belly as she whispered, "Your dad is very busy at the moment, but I assure you that he will never be too busy for you. He will be there to teach you how to play ball, ride bikes, and attend all important moments in your life. Both I and your dad love you so much, little treasure and within seven months, you will be in our arms. I can’t wait to see you, just thinking about it fills my heart with great joy. Thank you for coming into my life, little treasure."

Just then, the door opened and Zach came in looking slightly tired.

"Zach, you are back," Eliana said excitedly, but her heart ached a little when she saw him looking so tired. The Sanders were already the richest family in not only Rosehill City but also in the country so why does he have to work this hard?

Zachary just silently walked to her and leaned down to kiss her. It was a gentle and warm kiss that somehow relieved him of his stress.

Eliana’s eyes fluttered closed as she returned the kiss, her hand reaching up to graze his jaw.

The kiss deepened slightly as their lips moved in sync, and then Zach pulled back with a soft smile as he whispered, "Hey."

Eliana gently touched his eyes and said "You look so tired." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

Zach rested his head on her shoulder, breathing in her scent as he said, "I’m much better now."

Eliana blushed at how intimate he was and closed her eyes when he kissed her neck.

"Zach," Eliana said softly.

"I love it when you whisper my name like that but not more than when you scream it." Zach seductively whispered into her ears. He looked at her face and smiled at her flushed cheeks.

"Stop teasing me," Eliana said, avoiding his eyes.

Zachary chuckled as he straightened up and noticed the untouched juice and cookies on his table he asked, "You don’t feel like eating."

"I lost my appetite when I realized even you haven’t eaten," Eliana replied and pointed at the lunchbox that contained the food she prepared.

"Sorry. I got so busy that I didn’t get a chance to eat."

"Why are you so busy anyway? You look so tired."

"Sanders Group is trying to open a new branch in the US, and at the same time, we are trying to buy out a company, but they aren’t making it easy. I assure you that in less than three weeks, I will be all yours," Zach said with a smile. He touched her belly, and his smile widened as he asked, "Is little Treasure behaving himself today?"

Eliana laughed and nodded "I’m sure he missed you."

"Really? You have no idea how much I have looked at his picture today. When he is born, I plan on leaving Sanders group for at least six months to focus on you and him."

Warmth filled Eliana’s heart when she heard him, she was about to thank him when she heard him ask, "So what did you do today?"

Eliana thought of lying, but at the same time, she felt like lying would ruin her relationship with Zach, so she held her husband’s gaze and said, "I had a talk with my grandma, and she begged me to save the Moore family."

Eliana wished she hadn’t said a thing as she watched his smile disappear and his eyes suddenly become cold. What would happen now? Will they end up having another fight?
