Hero Hack: Reversing Heroes and Raising Harem-Chapter 225: You Played Yourself
Chapter 225: You Played Yourself
Brug let out a low growl, eyes glowing red beneath his thick, scarred brow.
He stomped forward, then launched himself into a wild charge.
His fists clenched tight, muscles swelling beneath his armored hide.
"[Momentum Crush]!"
He slammed both fists into Aegisclad’s towering wall, shaking the ground with the impact.
The stone cracked slightly, but the wall held.
Aegisclad stood calmly behind it, shield planted, his voice even.
"No matter what you do, you won’t break through."
He activated his field.
"[Unyielding Circle]!"
A circular aura pulsed from his boots, locking him to the ground.
Allies inside the zone gained protection. The enemies lost momentum.
His stance was solid—like a fortress.
But as the minutes passed, the battlefield changed.
Aegisclad’s expression shifted.
His stance didn’t falter, but his arms began to tremble.
Sweat rolled from his temple.
Small fractures started forming beneath his boots, tiny lines breaking through the solid foundation he had created.
His grip on the massive shield tightened. "What... is this?"
Across the crumbling defense line, Brug roared with laughter.
He stomped forward again and slammed his fists into the wall with another echoing boom.
"You feel it now, don’t you?!" he shouted.
Dust fell from the ceiling. Aegisclad’s shield cracked slightly at the edge.
Brug stepped back, breathing hard, only to charge again.
"[Momentum Crush]!" he yelled.
He struck once more. The ground shook.
"My combo doesn’t stop!"
"As long as I keep hitting, the next one’s stronger—every punch, every slam!"
He laughed again, wide-eyed and feral. "And guess what?"
Brug raised both arms and brought them down with another crushing blow.
"You’re a wall! A big, unmoving wall! That’s perfect for me!"
Steam hissed from his shoulders.
His breathing turned sharp and heavy, but he didn’t slow down.
"[Hardened Core]—every second I fight, my hide gets tougher. Your shield might hold now, but not for long."
Thick, dark-grey plates formed over his body like growing armour.
His skin looked more like iron than flesh now.
"And when you think you’re wearing me down..."
He coughed once, blood hitting the floor, but he kept grinning like a beast.
"...[Berserk Recovery] kicks in."
His fists slammed the wall again, and this time it cracked even deeper.
"As long as I stay under pressure, I heal! You can’t outlast me, Aegisclad! You can only break!"
Aegisclad’s brows lowered.
His breathing stayed calm, but his stance shifted slightly—more defensive now.
The wall shimmered weakly.
"You’re not fighting a man!" Brug shouted.
"You’re fighting a siege engine!"
He took one more breath and dashed forward again. Each step thundered.
He leapt into the air for the final blow, arms raised.
Aegisclad looked up slowly.
"I see."
Cracks now webbed across the surface of the wall.
Brug leaned back and let out a beastly roar, raising both of his arms.
"AND NOW, I’M DONE WAITING!"
He stomped forward, each step shaking the ground.
His fists flew forward like hammers.
"[Momentum Crush]!"
CRACK!
A thunderous boom echoed through the street as Aegisclad’s defense wall finally shattered.
Stone and steel flew in every direction, the blast wave kicking up dust and rubble.
Brug stomped through the debris, shoulders heaving with each breath.
He grinned widely, laughter rolling out of him like a war drum.
"I TOLD YOU!" he shouted.
"You’re tough, but even walls break!"
He slammed his fists together. "Now it’s YOUR turn!"
Aegisclad didn’t flinch. He stood in place, calm, silent.
Brug noticed. His grin faltered slightly.
"What’s with that look?" he growled. "Too shocked to run?"
Aegisclad’s voice came low and even. "Thanks, Iron Tuskrager."
Brug blinked. "Huh?"
"You’ve been slamming into me for minutes now," Aegisclad said, stepping forward.
Blue light began to glow from his shield.
"You thought you were wearing me down."
He tightened his grip.
"But really... you were feeding me."
The runes on his shield lit up completely.
"[Momentum Shield]."
Brug’s eyes widened. "Wait—what!?"
Aegisclad’s body moved all at once.
He charged forward, shield-first, and slammed it right into Brug’s chest.
The impact triggered a massive shockwave, releasing all the energy Brug had built up.
Every slam, every hit, every ounce of force came back in a single devastating burst.
Brug’s breath left his lungs in an instant.
"GRHHH—!"
His feet left the ground. His massive body flew back like a broken missile.
He crashed into the far wall, stone breaking under his weight.
His armor cracked, skin bleeding from dozens of spots.
He dropped with a heavy thud, bounced once, then hit the dirt hard.
He tried to move—his arm twitched, one leg shifted—but then everything stopped.
He collapsed flat, face down, unmoving.
Aegisclad lowered his shield. His expression didn’t change. Calm. Cold.
He stepped closer to the downed brute and looked down.
"One down."
A sudden wave of heat hit from behind. Aegisclad turned slightly.
From the broken shadows, Blazren walked forward.
His flames were dim now, but his eyes still burned with fire.
"Aegisclad," Blazren said, stopping beside him.
Aegisclad gave a small nod, surprised but respectful.
"Director Blazren. I didn’t expect you here so soon."
Blazren looked down at the defeated beast. "Is this the one?"
"Yes," Aegisclad confirmed. "Iron Tuskrager."
"He’s the one who led the mutant release. Tried to level the district with brute force."
Blazren crouched beside Brug and studied his injuries. "Still breathing."
"He’s tough," Aegisclad said. "Took time, but I broke his momentum."
Blazren stood back up. "What’s the situation report?"
Aegisclad tapped the side of his comms visor.
"Five mutants, all [Feral Beastkin]. Engaged and neutralized."
"We had twenty-three A-Rank heroes deployed to handle them. Casualties: minor. Area damage: contained."
Blazren nodded once. "Good coordination. You held your ground."
Aegisclad straightened up. "The team was ready. We anticipated the drop site. They didn’t expect resistance."
Blazren looked around at the scorched area, then back at Brug. "You did well. Strong as ever, Aegisclad."
"Thank you, sir."
Blazren looked down one more time, then spoke with purpose.
"Bring the mutants back to base. Secure transport. I want every one of them monitored."
"Understood," Aegisclad replied, already sending out commands through his visor.
Blazren continued. "As for this one—Iron Tuskrager—I’ll take him myself."
Aegisclad paused. "Sir?"
"He’s not just a brute. He’s a piece of something bigger," Blazren said.
"I want to question him directly."
Aegisclad stepped aside. "Of course. Take him. I’ll file the final report."
Blazren reached down, grabbed Brug’s arm, and hoisted the massive villain over his shoulder like dead weight.
"Thanks, Aegisclad," Blazren said. "You’ll get a proper reward. Count on it."
Aegisclad gave a small nod. "I don’t need one. But I’ll take it."
