Hero Hack: Reversing Heroes and Raising Harem-Chapter 227: Mutant Mondays
Chapter 227: Mutant Mondays
Zain stood at the edge of a rooftop overlooking the city.
Flames flickered in the distance. Screams echoed from far-off streets.
Below him, chaos had erupted—mutants were tearing through zones, leaving destruction in their path.
His crimson eyes watched calmly as a group of [Feral Beastkin] chased down a squad of heroes.
He could hear the crashes, the shouts, the fear. But he didn’t move. He only smiled.
Velra stood beside him, arms crossed, her long pink hair drifting in the wind.
"They’ve started attacking again."
Zain smirked. "I see it."
He turned his head slightly, speaking without looking at her. "Tell the girls... it’s hunting time."
Velra’s eyes lit up. "As you command."
"Have them take down a few mutants," Zain continued.
"Quietly. No need for anyone to know we’re moving."
Velra tilted her head, intrigued. "Should we collect the bodies?"
Zain nodded. "Yes. No trace. No survivors."
She placed a hand on her comms and whispered, "Sisters of the Sect, orders from the Master—hunt begins now.
"Move in groups of two. Operate in shadow. No contact with the heroes. Take down any mutant in sight and vanish."
A moment later, her comms clicked once. Confirmation.
Zain’s smirk grew. "Good. Let the Hero Association struggle. Let them sweat trying to clean up this mess."
He leaned forward slightly, watching as one mutant slammed into a bus, flipping it over.
The heroes on the scene rushed in, flames and energy blasts flying. But Zain wasn’t watching them.
He was watching the one mutant slowly crawling away from the battlefield.
Perfect.
Velra noticed. "Target?"
Zain nodded. "She’s alone. That one’s yours."
Velra smiled. "I’ll make it quick."
She vanished in a blur, leaping off the building with barely a sound.
Her boots didn’t echo. Her form disappeared into the smoke and fire below.
Zain stayed still. His coat fluttered around him.
The city was burning, but he looked like he was enjoying the view.
"Hero Association..." he said under his breath.
"It’s been a while."
He watched one hero fall under a mutant’s claw, then another mutant explode from a misfired attack.
"Let’s see how you handle this storm."
He turned and walked into the darkness behind him, leaving only a fading laugh as the hunt began.

Blazren moved fast through the smoke-filled streets.
Flames crackled in the distance. Buildings shook from the battle.
The sound of howls and destruction echoed all around.
Zone BB-2 had been hit the hardest.
Reports said over a dozen [Feral Beastkin] were loose there.
The A-Rank squads couldn’t handle them.
They were getting overrun. So Blazren came himself.
He ran past a destroyed barricade, crushed cars, and burned-out lamp posts.
Ash floated through the air like snow.
He clenched his fists, fire already coiling around his arms.
His boots crushed broken stone as he pushed forward without slowing.
"I’m close," he muttered.
Then, from above, a shape dropped down and landed ahead of him.
The ground cracked under the impact.
Blazren raised a brow. "Huh?"
Smoke cleared, and the figure stood up slowly, tall, lean, wearing a black coat with blood-red lining.
Zain.
Blazren frowned slightly. "You."
Zain grinned. "Hey, old man. Thought I’d find you out here. You always run toward trouble."
Blazren crossed his arms. "And you always pop up when things start burning."
Zain chuckled. "Can’t help it. Fire draws fire."
Blazren nodded toward the west. "I’m heading to BB-2."
"That zone’s swarming with mutants. Too many for normal squads."
Zain looked past him, eyes narrowing at the sound of distant roars. "Feral ones?"
Blazren nodded. "Yeah. Fast, violent, out of control."
Zain stretched his neck slowly, his joints popping. "Then it’s good I’m here."
Blazren tilted his head. "You offering to help?"
Zain smirked. "I’ve had too much vacation lately. Time to warm up the bones."
Blazren cracked a small smile. "Didn’t think you were the helping type."
"I’m not," Zain said, already walking beside him.
"I’m the type who likes to break things."
Blazren looked at him. "Fine. But don’t hold back."
Zain glanced sideways. "You first."
---
Zain and Blazren sprinted through the wrecked street.
Cracks ran across the pavement. Smoke and fire filled the air.
The sounds of claws scraping metal and distant howls grew louder with every step.
Blazren activated [Blazing Mane Shift].
His body flared up, fire coursing through his limbs as his hair flowed like burning strands.
Heat pulsed from him, melting nearby debris as he moved.
Zain pulled out his black blade in silence.
Its edge shimmered faintly with a strange glow.
Up ahead, three [Feral Beastkin] appeared, snarling.
One of them leaped forward, claws raised.
Zain stepped in without hesitation. He slashed once, fast and clean.
[Demon Slash].
A wave of dark-red energy cut straight through the mutant.
It dropped before it even reached him. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
Blazren raised an eyebrow. "That’s not a normal attack."
Zain smirked. "Of course it’s not."
Blazren blocked an incoming claw swipe with a fiery uppercut, sending the second mutant flying.
"Is that your class skill?"
Zain tilted his head slightly. "What do you think?"
Blazren kicked the last mutant in the chest, then spun and roasted it with [Scorching Roar].
The flames wrapped around the creature, pinning it until it collapsed.
Breathing lightly, he turned back to Zain.
"I’ve fought beside a lot of AA-Rank heroes. I’ve never seen that ability before."
Zain stabbed his sword into the ground and leaned against it.
"That’s because I never used it in front of others."
Blazren narrowed his eyes. "You hiding something?"
Zain grinned. "Just my class."
He stood up straight and brushed dust off his coat.
"You never see me using my class skills directly, right?"
Blazren nodded. "Yeah."
"Well, I’ll tell you now. My class..." Zain held up his sword, letting the dark energy rise again.
"...is [Demon Sword]."
Blazren frowned. "Demon Sword?"
Zain nodded. "It focuses on absorbing energy and slashing through anything. I gain power with every clash."
Blazren raised an eyebrow. "You sure it’s just AA-Rank?"
Zain smirked. "Why don’t we find out?"
More mutants screamed in the distance.
Zain lifted his sword.
"Let’s keep going."
Blazren lit his fists again.
"Right behind you."
