His Beloved Treasure-Chapter 1557 - 436: The Tried-and-True Trick
Mu Yichen was watching a sports program, but he couldn’t concentrate. Occasionally, the sound of his wife sketching would inadvertently reach his ears, and he couldn’t help but glance at the person beside him.
Or perhaps, "occasionally" isn’t the right word.
From time to time, Mu Yichen’s eyes carried a faint smile, a look of admiration, as he looked at his wife.
Qin Mu, however, kept her head down and never looked up at her husband.
At one o’clock in the afternoon, the sun came out, and by around three, they returned to the old house. The thin ice on the road was still fairly slippery.
When the two of them got home, the elders who were napping on sunflower seeds and chatting looked at them and asked, "Why did you come back in this weather?"
"Isn’t the weather nice?"
Mu Yichen walked over and sat down, glancing at the beautiful sunset outside the window.
Feng Fanghua cracked a few sunflower seeds and didn’t say anything more.
Qin Mu sat beside Mu Yichen and quietly drank tea after greeting the elders.
"Has the ice outside melted?"
The old man asked. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"Yes!"
Qin Mu nodded in agreement.
"I was thinking of calling you to suggest you not come back until the roads are cleared."
The old man added.
It felt as if the distance were not just half a city but several cities away.
But within it was the deep concern everyone had for them.
"The roads outside have all been cleared!"
Qin Mu responded.
One had to admit that the leader’s orders were carried out well by the subordinates; maybe this also showed the leader’s capability?
"This weather sure makes people anxious, but our city’s implemental ability is always at the forefront. Should I go out tonight and have dinner with Old Li and the others?"
Mu Zihao agreed, then cautiously posed the question to his wife.
Upon hearing that he wanted to go out for dinner, Feng Fanghua seemed a bit displeased. Last night, Mu Zihao had already told her he wanted to have dinner with those old friends. Feng Fanghua wanted to sever ties with those people due to charity-related issues, but Mu Zihao kept playing the good guy, which made her quite unhappy.
"Qin Mu, tell me, is it really necessary to stay friends with people who mock me in front of you at events?"
"Huh?"
Feng Fanghua suddenly spoke to her, completely ignoring Mu Zihao, leaving Qin Mu a bit bewildered.
Mu Yichen also curiously looked at his young wife.
Qin Mu snapped back to reality and focused on Feng Fanghua, "If it were me, I definitely wouldn’t want to be friends with those people anymore!"
After hearing her, Feng Fanghua looked at Mu Zihao, "Even someone her age understands this principle. How can you not?"
"Why do women’s matters have to involve me? We have many years of friendship as old friends. Besides, you knew about the issues with their wives years back; why suddenly take offense now?"
"If I don’t care about it, they would think I’m a pushover!"
Feng Fanghua retorted.
"Who would dare think you’re a pushover? I don’t think anyone in Rong City could!"
The old man suddenly interjected.
The words stuck in Feng Fanghua’s throat that she wanted to say to Mu Zihao were instantly swallowed back.
"Dad!"
Feng Fanghua called him helplessly.
The old man chuckled, "Ah! I’m tired! Time to move around a bit!"
He finally placed down the teacup he had been holding and slowly got up, walking over to stand by the window, stretching out his arms.
Mu Zihao dared not speak anymore since his wife’s expression was really poor. As for Qin Mu, she dared not say anything either. As for Mu Yichen, he has always stayed out of these family affairs.
He just couldn’t help but glance at his wife with admiration.
Qin Mu sat for a while before heading to the amusement park, where the two little ones were sitting, whispering about something.
She walked over behind them, raised her eyes, and finally made out what was in the small jars each held in their arms, filled with something white.
Snow?
Qin Mu wondered, then gently circled around to stand in front of them, thoughtfully gazing at them.
The siblings had been arguing over whose snow would melt first when they suddenly felt the light being blocked, and instinctively looked up, seeing Qin Mu.
"Mom!"
"Mom! You’re blocking us!"
Chengcheng sweetly called out to Qin Mu, while Huanhuan was less pleased about being blocked from the light.
