His Beloved Treasure-Chapter 1742 - 487: Bathroom Secrets (Part 4)
Xiaomei started talking to them.
"Is that so?"
An Nan asked.
"It wasn’t like this before. Before, even if you gave her a break, she’d complain the time was too long and would rush back to work. Now that she’s married, she’s thinking about flying out more often!"
Qin Mu said while glancing at Xiaomei, noticing the subtle changes in her after marriage, changes Xiaomei herself hadn’t noticed, and they were only just beginning to sense them.
"That’s because having a husband makes things really different! Oh!"
An Nan looked at Xiaomei like she was looking at a little sister.
"Ah! You two really are something, aren’t you just saying I’m enjoying myself after marriage? I’ve grown up and finally am letting myself go a little!"
Xiaomei felt her face get a little warm, speaking in a somewhat quieter voice.
Qin Mu and An Nan saw her getting shy and didn’t tease her further. Once dinner was ready, they all went to the dining room to take their seats.
Mu Yichen opened a bottle of red wine, casually saying everyone could have a little drink.
Jiang Zhiyuan sat down, soon after looking at the wine in his glass, glancing diagonally over at Qin Mu, then stood up holding his glass: "Xiaomu, if you don’t take what I said that night to heart, how about downing this glass of wine, in your brother’s honor?"
Qin Mu paused, having already forgotten what had happened.
"I can drink, but what are you being so formal about, over which night’s incident?"
Qin Mu asked gloomily.
Jiang Zhiyuan stood there woodenly, stumped by Qin Mu’s question.
Mu Yichen and Zhao Huai did not speak up for him, he often tactlessly says things without thinking, An Nan thought nothing of it either, so she stayed silent too. Jiang Zhiyuan chuckled after realizing Qin Mu had forgotten, "It’s nothing, nothing! Your brother just wants to share a drink with you!"
"I’m in!"
Qin Mu was about to recall that incident, then raised her glass to clink with his.
"If you’re going to drink, just drink, why stand up?"
Mu Yichen asked, disliking Jiang Zhiyuan’s formal approach.
"Oh! I’m just thinking, when our kids grow up, if Master Jiang will still be the same, saying things carelessly, acting with no beginning or end."
An Nan sighed, joining in the conversation.
"Brother Yuan is great, always optimistic, always knows how to cheer you up!"
Qin Mu said to An Nan.
"Exactly exactly! My Xiaomu says the most sensible things, my wife, don’t you go tricking your husband!"
Jiang Zhiyuan listened to Qin Mu’s praise with sparkling eyes, it’s rare someone would compliment him so sincerely, though he looked a bit concerned at his wife’s reaction.
"Trick you? It’s you who’s always tricking me!"
An Nan had those shiny, sharp black eyes that seemed to pierce through Jiang Zhiyuan’s thoughts.
"You two really are what people say, a pair of jokers, a perfect match!"
Xiaomei couldn’t help but comment as she watched them bicker.
"We’re definitely a perfect match, don’t say that, Xiaomei, since hanging out with our crew, you’ve really improved in your awareness."
Jiang Zhiyuan praised without any structure.
Xiaomei heard that, blushing slightly and bowing her head, saying no more.
Zhao Huai glanced at Xiaomei, then turned to Jiang Zhiyuan: "Stop teasing her! After quite some time apart, tonight you should drink more!"
"Of course! No going home unless I’m drunk! Let’s make up for what we missed earlier tonight!"
Jiang Zhiyuan listened to Zhao Huai, agreeing enthusiastically.
The top three seats were reserved for seniors, no one had sat there! Mu Yichen sat quietly in his original seat, watching with silence, not saying a word to interrupt their brotherly exchange!
——
Before ten, the old man returned home, saw youngsters drinking, and couldn’t resist sitting down to drink with them, Jiang Zhiyuan knew the old man was fond of drinking, so he used it as an excuse to drink a few more cups with him.
Qin Mu and Xiaomei went to the restroom together, Xiaomei came out, and Mu Yichen suddenly went in, just as Qin Mu was about to leave, Mu Yichen blocked her at the door.
Qin Mu thought it was her accidentally blocking his way, but no matter how she tried to make way, she couldn’t move aside, so she raised her eyes, hearing the noise outside, looking at Mu Yichen before her.
In his pitch-black eyes, there was nothing but her face.
"Let me out!"
Qin Mu whispered to him, not wanting to neglect her guests.
"Out? Sure!"
Mu Yichen forced her to step back, reached behind her to gently close the door, locking it.
Qin Mu’s heart thumped wildly, not understanding Mu Yichen’s sudden actions, but she couldn’t help feeling nervous.
"Don’t make a fuss! Everyone’s outside!"
Qin Mu reminded him anxiously, her eyes dodging his fierce gaze.
"Let them wait outside!"
Mu Yichen’s voice was low as he pressed closer, until Qin Mu had no room to retreat, her hands gripping the edge of the sink behind her, even her breathing started to become restrained.
