I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO-Chapter 649: I mean your Aunt Flo! (2)
Liliana Davis paced around the room, her brows furrowed tightly.
Since entering politics, she had been exceptionally careful, working hard and diligently. Yet, it was impossible to be completely clean.
If Kris Cooper could get Chairman Li imprisoned, he could undoubtedly find something incriminating on her as well. After all, no one in this world is perfect.
To achieve her goals and reach her current position, she had inevitably done some things that couldn’t stand the light of day.
What should I do? Liliana Davis approached the window, gazing at the world outside through the floor-to-ceiling glass, lost in thought.
In the Ashton Advertising Department’s large conference room, the projector switched off; the promotional video for the new project had finished playing.
Vera Wave stood up from her chair, smiling as she surveyed everyone present. "Incredible! Better than I envisioned. Thank you all for your hard work."
Merlin Bradley walked over and opened the curtains. Sunlight gradually filtered into the room, illuminating everyone’s smiling faces.
"Truly remarkable." Kate Palmer also looked pleased. "Everyone has worked very hard this time. Rest up tomorrow. The day after, you set off. This project launch must succeed; failure is not an option!"
"Yes!" everyone responded in unison.
This time, Ashton, the Maverick Family, and the Gust Family—three major financial groups—were jointly launching a large project. It combined tourism, leisure, and entertainment, represented an investment of over a billion, and held profound significance for Ashton.
As the Planning Department, their primary role was to ensure a flawless launch. The goal was to create a stunning impact on the public and make a phenomenal debut.
As everyone packed up their laptops and documents and began to leave the conference room, Vera Wave reminded them with a smile, "The temperature in the mountains is low, so remember to bring some extra warm outerwear."
"Manager, are you coming with us too?" Mary asked.
"Absolutely. This is the project I’m personally overseeing, so of course, I’m going."
"Will our Big Boss be alright with that?" Wang Xiaoya teased. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"What’s there for him to worry about?" Merlin Bradley glanced around. "Look at all the handsome men in our department—who here could possibly rival our Big Boss?"
Laughing and joking, the group headed back. Vera Wave entered her office, took out her cell phone, and dialed Tommy Taylor’s number.
"Assistant Taylor, is Kris Cooper upstairs?"
"The CEO just got back."
After hanging up, she quickly tidied up her belongings, bid her colleagues farewell, and headed straight to the CEO’s office upstairs.
Seeing Tommy Taylor about to open the door for her, she gave a slight wave of her hand, signaling him not to bother, and quietly pushed open the door, stepping inside.
In the room, Kris Cooper stood by the window, frowning as he reviewed documents concerning Liliana Davis. He was completely oblivious to Vera Wave’s entrance.
Tiptoeing up behind him, she leaned in from his side, smiling and waving a hand playfully.
"Hi, handsome! Fancy a date?"
Kris Cooper startled, and the documents in his hand slipped from his grasp, scattering onto the floor.
"HA..." She let out a mischievous laugh and squatted down to help him pick up the scattered documents.
Kris Cooper quickly grabbed her arm.
"Don’t!"
"Hey! You scared me!"
"Stay put. Go sit over there and wait for me." Before she could say anything more, he added firmly, "Be good!"
"What precious documents are these that you’re so afraid of me seeing?"
"Naturally... This is a love letter another woman wrote to me!"
"That, I have absolutely no interest in!" She pouted, walked over to his large executive chair, settled in comfortably, and stretched languidly. "Your chair is so much more comfortable!"
