I Have A Baby From My Ex-Husband's Enemy-Chapter 100: The Last Letter From Him
When Odelia and Sean were going to Vincent’s grave, she noticed a file that wasn’t there before in the folder with Vincent. Thinking it was his last message, Sean asked Odelia to read it. With a feeling of dread, she opened the message.
To my Odelia, please read my last message.
Odelia, if you read this message, it means I’m dead. I’m leaving you this message because I want to tell you something that I didn’t get a chance to tell you, love.
I know you won’t be happy about me calling you that again, but please allow me.
I was devastated when my mom and sister told me you left me for another man. But I know you’re not that kind of woman, I know what kind of woman I love so I kept looking for you to find you.
I was so happy when I found out that you were fine, but you were already pregnant with Osbert’s child. My feelings were split in two, even so I believe you are not a woman who goes into the arms of another man just because you intend to.
I have always believed my Odelia is a calculating woman, even though you are so vulnerable, you are very smart and warm. Just like when we first met, I was very impressed with your intelligence as a secretary. How you helped your ex boss and were so firm but still so gentle.
I fall in love every time I open my eyes and see you there. That love gets bigger and bigger, every time you touch me, smile at me and talk to me.
Do you remember when we went on our honeymoon? We looked at the beautiful full moon and said that even if we were separated one day because we had to work out of town for a while, we could still see the same full moon under the same sky.
I always looked at that moon when you weren’t here, wondering if you saw the same moon as me?
I don’t even know if you still remember that promise or not. But I always remember it.
In my sleep, I always see your image smiling at me and hugging me, saying everything will be okay. But when I open my eyes, you’re not there. It made me feel like a fool when I believed in that shadow. I should have realized by now you no longer loved me, but only Osbert.
I unknowingly hurt you so deeply because I couldn’t protect you from my own family. Osbert was right, I was too weak and stupid for this. I unknowingly made you cry behind your warm smile.
But... Can you tell me...
Was it only sadness and pain that you felt during this marriage?
Or did you ever feel very happy together with me?
Did you ever really feel happy during this marriage?
Am I too stupid for you?
Do you regret our marriage, Odelia?
Am I the only one... who feel happy in this marriage? On top of your suffering?
I don’t understand, I feel so crazy that I don’t know what to do. I can no longer have you or even see your beautiful face anymore.
Only these memories and photos are left with me. I look at them every day, and remember all the things we went through together for six years.
I especially remember when it was your birthday, I brought your favorite strawberry cake and I woke you up to blow out the candles. You cried with emotion, you hugged me and ate the cake even though you felt sleepy.
When I took it from your hand to make you sleep, you got angry and continued eating. It was so cute, I even imagined that our child would be like you. But in reality we couldn’t have one because I was barren.
In the end you chose to start your new life. I can understand that now, I’m sorry for everything I’ve done to you. I hope you will forgive me, love.
It’s hurts me so much to see you happy with someone else. But I also didn’t want you to suffer.
That’s why I chose to let you go for good. I hope you will always be happy with him and forget me. Let all these memories, I remember them.
It’s not your fault, it’s my own choice.
Lastly, I love you even in my death.
I will always love you, even if you no longer love me in the end.
Like our wedding vows, until death do us part.
I will always love you.
Someone from your past,
Vincent Percy.
Odelia’s body trembled as she read the message. She didn’t know what to say in response to the man’s last letter. But she was devastated when she read it.
Her hands were trembling, and so was her body. Making her unable to say anything.
Sean, who realized this, immediately pulled Odelia into his arms. Letting the woman release her pain right then and there.
"Sshh... It’s okay, just let it all go. I know it must be very painful." He rubbed her head gently while trying to calm her down.
"Why did he have to say all those things without me being able to tell him that I don’t hate him! Why... Why did he have to leave me this letter?!" cried Odelia.
Sean rubbed her back gently, trying to make her feel good. He continued to hold her body, letting her cry until she felt calm.
Until finally Odelia stopped crying and she looked into the face of Sean who was currently her husband. His hand wiped away the tears that were still flowing and then kissed her lips briefly.
"Feeling better?" he asked.
"Yes, thank you. And... I’m sorry that I had to cry like this."
"It’s okay, this is normal and it’s not your fault for crying. You must remember a lot of things about him. I did the same thing the first time I thought about my ex-fiancé again," he replied.
But Sean realized that his current life was much more valuable and extraordinary. He has made up for what he lost. And he was very happy about this as he began to regain all his memories.
Remembering how Odelia was the woman he had needed all along.
"I see, and I seem to be thinking the same thing. I might have felt sad about Vin leaving. But I realize my life is much better now. I have the daughter I dreamed of, I have a wonderful sister-in-law and..."
Odelia held Sean’s hand with a smile.
"I have you with me."
