I Have A Baby From My Ex-Husband's Enemy-Chapter 99: Visiting His Final Resting Place
On Sunday morning, Odelia and Sean went to a cemetery where people from the North Zondalia area were buried. They went to one of the graves that they were supposed to go to on the day of the funeral but they didn’t make it.
And that grave belonged to Vincent, Odelia’s ex-husband who died 3 months ago after he set his house on fire with him inside. Even today she still couldn’t believe that the man she had known for so long was now dead.
She couldn’t say she hated him, but she could feel herself missing him when he was dead. But that didn’t mean she still loved Vincent, it was just that she missed the memories with the man who could no longer open his eyes.
When they arrived at Vincent’s grave after Alice showed them the position of the grave, they saw his photo on top of his grave. The photo of Vincent’s face propped up on his tombstone with a smiling face made Odelia feel so sad.
"This is the place, I still can’t believe he’s really gone. Is all this my fault? I don’t understand why he would do this," Odelia said with a sad feeling.
"I know you feel lost, and I think that’s a natural thing for you to feel. But it’s not your fault, you just want to be free of him after what he did to you. Don’t blame yourself for this," Sean said then took his wife’s hand and they looked at the grave.
Odelia placed the bunch of flowers she had brought on her ex-husband’s grave and hoped that Vincent would rest in peace there. She also apologized for only having time to come today and she couldn’t come on the day of his funeral.
"If only I could tell you that I never hated you. I may have been angry and upset at what you did to me even though I rejected you several times. But never once did I think of hating you. After all, you are someone who used to make me feel happy and loved," she said while cleaning up the man’s photo.
Sean could only silently look at Odelia who was sad near Vincent’s grave. He didn’t feel angry or jealous when he saw Odelia sad because sometimes he himself remembered how his relationship with Jessi, his former fiancée who had also died.
After Sean was able to remember his past, he found an old file containing his photos with Jessi in his Moogle Drive. From there he remembered about his past if he had a fiancée.
Because of this, he invited Odelia to come to Vincent’s grave so that she could release the sadness that she might have been holding back all this time. Sean realized that after all, in the past Jessi and Vincent had made each of them feel happy and valuable.
"I never thought you would go this far. I thought we could meet again after we got our own happiness. But things didn’t turn out the way I thought."
One by one, tears fell from her blue eyes and slowly flowed down. She tried to hold back her tears, but it was so difficult because in that moment she remembered everything that she and Vincent had been through.
But now he was under 6 feet deep buried in the cold earth of his coffin. Completely alone and with no one to be with his even in his last moments.
At that very moment Sean hugged her, tried to calm her down and told her that it wasn’t his fault. What happened to Vincent was his own choice because he couldn’t let go of his love for Odelia and couldn’t see her with another man.
"It’s okay, you can cry all you want to release all the sadness you are currently feeling."
She buried her face into the man’s chest and let go of all her sadness. After a while, she felt relieved and better because Sean was there for her.
The man began to say why he had brought Odelia there after he had found a lot of things on his drive yesterday. At that moment Odelia remembered that her Moogle drive was connected to Vincent’s. She had one folder that was connected to his email for long time.
Immediately she opened her phone and opened her Moogle drive. There were tons of photos that she had with Vincent, along with captions on each photo of when it was taken. Odelia thought everything was gone after her cell phone was damaged by Alice on the day she was kicked out of Vincen’s house.
"It turns out that everything is still here. I never remembered about this until today, I thought everything was gone. But I guess it’s not important anymore now," Odelia said.
"I know that, I also didn’t remember that I still have photos with Jessi on my Moogle Drive. I thought it wouldn’t be useful anymore but at a time like this it turns out that some of my memories came back after seeing it," said Sean.
She looked through the photos that were there without opening them, until there was one file that Odelia remembered was never there. A file that when examined turned out to have been added just 2 days before Vincent’s death
"He put a document file in this folder two days before his death. What did he write in it? " she asked curiously.
Sean also advised Odelia to open the message, which could have been Vincent’s last message before he died.
At first Odelia was hesitant to open it. But she also felt curious about what Vincent had written to her. Should she open it now or when she feels ready for it?
With trembling fingers because she was worried that she couldn’t bear to look at what her ex-husband had written, Odelia finally opened the message and started reading the file entitled.
"To my beloved Odelia, please read this message of mine."
