Chapter 105: Someone’s Trying To Get In

The next day, they leave the hotel to look for areas that sell houses with large yards. Of course, these houses were usually on the outskirts of town where it was quite quiet and only people with wealth usually lived there.

Since they didn’t know how long they would be driving around, Odelia suggested that she drive instead of bringing a driver. It would be easier to see around if they drove themselves.

"Are you sure? It’s going to be tiring because we don’t know how long we’re going to be driving around," Sean asked because during his leg injured he had always hired a driver to take his car.

"I’m sure, don’t worry about it I’ll drive the car," Odelia said and she sat in the driver’s seat while Sean sat next to her.

They then left the hotel and started driving around to search. They approached several houses that had for-sale signs, and noted the number on the for-sale sign.

They continued to drive around until it was lunch time and they decided to go to a restaurant. Sean was worried because he had never seen Odelia drive a car. Even though it turned out that she was good at it, it should still be him who drove for Odelia.

’How long will my feet stay like this? I should be driving the car for her instead of her doing it for me. I feel so bad right now,’ he thought as he thought he would no longer be dependent on Odelia after being able to use a walking stick.

However, his legs still couldn’t do some things like when they made love or now to drive the car. To drive he might be able to do it but his legs would struggle to step on the pedals.

They got off at a restaurant and had lunch there. They chatted about the house they saw from outside while thinking about which house she would call the owner.

"Before we go home, we’d better buy some cake for those at home. At least they helped us look after Carmelia while we were gone for three days. Carmelia will also be happy if she can eat cake," said Odelia.

"No problem, we can buy cake on the way back. As for Carmelia, she’ll really like the strawberry flavor just like you," he replied in agreement while chuckling at the memory of their little daughter who loved strawberry cake just like her mother.

In the middle of their pleasant conversation, a woman suddenly came and sat down with them, making Sean and Odelia surprised by her appearance.

"It looks like the newlyweds are talking about something. But maybe it’s just in the name of newlyweds, considering you already have a child," the woman said with a chuckle but her laughter sounded so sarcastic.

"Sophie? What are you doing here?" asked Sean who didn’t expect to see her at the restaurant.

"For lunch, of course, silly. And it seems like a stroke of luck to meet you guys in this place too. No problem if I join you, right? I don’t want to eat alone," she said pleadingly to the two of them.

Both Sean and Odelia already knew the true nature of Sophie that Megan had told them about. But since Sean and Odelia believed in each other that they wouldn’t be fooled by her, plus they were also about to finish with their lunch so he allowed her to eat at their table.

"So how are your honeymoon plans going? Do you have any plans to go on a honeymoon maybe somewhere far away and fun?" asked Sophie who was trying to look friendly so as not to be suspicious when she wanted to approach Sean.

"We haven’t thought about it because we can’t leave Carmelia for a long time. There’s no way we can ask Odelia’s mother to continue looking after our daughter," replied Sean who didn’t really want to answer but he was looking for an excuse so that Sophie wouldn’t ask further questions about it.

"Oh that’s right, it must be troublesome because you have a child so you don’t have time to spend with each other, let alone for a honeymoon after your wedding."

"We’re fine with that, our daughter is also part of our happiness and she’s more important than anything else," Odelia said because for her Carmelia was a complement to her happiness with her husband.

Even when they were having lunch, Sophie kept asking them questions as if she was trying to be intimate with them. She asked about their next plans, and whether they intended to live separately from Megan.

Because for her, that woman was a barrier to her getting close to Sean. Megan seemed to know his plans which made him feel he was a threat if he continued to be around Sean and Odelia. Because she thought that Odelia would not be able to fight a woman like her.

Until finally Odelia and Sean’s food ran out first and they said they had to go home immediately because they had something to do. Sophie had asked them to wait for a while but Sean refused because he didn’t want to be there any longer.

"I’m sorry but we have to leave first because we have some business to do. Then I’ll see you later," he said and then invited Odelia to leave the restaurant.

"Hey wait a minute! Can’t you guys wait just a minute?!" Called Sophie who tried to stop them.

However, they had left first without looking back at all. She looked very upset that they left even though she still wanted to talk to Sean.

Although Sean’s condition initially made her feel uncomfortable because he had to walk with a cane, but now that he was getting better, even though he was still using a cane, Sophie thought about approaching him again.

"She’s really quite annoying. I don’t think what Megan said was wrong, I should have realized this earlier," Sean said as they walked to their car.

"I don’t really mind if she wants to talk to us, but the way she keeps asking questions that we shouldn’t be asking makes me feel uncomfortable," Odelia said.

"Then there’s no need to think about it anymore. Let’s go to the cake shop and then come home and surprise them."

She nodded her head then got into the car and they drove to the cake shop before finally returning home.
