I Have A Baby From My Ex-Husband's Enemy-Chapter 123: You Definitely Just Want His Money!
After all this time, I didn’t expect to finally see my dad again. I felt so happy when I met him and I hugged him right away. I cried in his arms, because I missed him so much even though I didn’t remember what his face looked like before.
But when I felt the warmth of his body, I felt that longing and I knew that he was indeed my dad. We were finally able to reunite, and he told me many things about myself.
He showed me a photo album of me when I was little, and he kept it very well, and he said that he always looked at it and missed me.
"You have no idea how much I miss you. I’ve always dreamed of seeing you again and I finally managed to see you again in front of me," Dad said to me while holding my hand and now my daughter was on his lap.
She immediately recognized her grandfather, and felt comfortable with him. I guess she was just like me when I was a child.
While we were chatting, the door suddenly opened and a woman I had met earlier near the elevator walked into the room along with another woman who I guessed was her daughter.
"Are you guys having fun? Did you come here to ask for your father’s property too?" she asked suddenly which made me feel confused as to why she was asking that.
Does she think I came here to ask for father’s inheritance? After all this time of not coming back, she thinks I’ve come to take his property.
"I’m not here for my father’s money but to see him. It’s none of your business anyway, why do you seem to dislike me?" I asked even though I knew she didn’t like me because she was worried that she would be displaced like Samuel said.
"Is it true? I’m not sure if you came just to see him. Even after you left Vasco for so long, suddenly each of you came back. Do you realize now that Vasco has a lot of money for you?" the woman asked again.
Even her daughter said the same thing, as if Sam and I were just gold diggers who wanted our dad’s money. It does sound a bit strange that after all this time we left the mansion and came back after decades.
But it wasn’t our fault either, it was mom’s rash decision and not intending to go back to see dad.
But he was still our father after all, and we really wanted to meet him.
"So you’re the woman called Odelia? I’m Joice, I’m indirectly your half sister. I’m only three months younger than Samuel."
"You seem to be my half sister, you are indeed not much more than your mother. I thought you had a good nature like father. But instead you got your mother’s," I said after what she said about me and Samuel.
"I’m just worried about Dad, you were away from him for so long and after you never came back now all of a sudden you’re back. I just don’t want you to take advantage of dad," Joice said softly, trying to defend dad’s position.
It’s just that she can’t lie to me, with that pitiable look on her face. I couldn’t be lied to with just her words because I had heard everything from Samuel.
"Don’t talk nonsense, stop that nonsense! Odelia didn’t come for father’s property, but to see him. Besides, even if she came to ask for father’s money, that’s her right and not yours." Samuel folded his arms across his chest in an attempt to defend me.
Saying that I deserved it and not them. There was a commotion between us, where Amber seemed not to be outdone by me and Samuel. I could see how she and her daughter really wanted my family’s money.
Now I understand why Samuel spoke harshly to them, because what they said really made my head hurt. Even my daughter has to hear all these things.
"That’s enough!" Dad suddenly stood up from his seat and handed Carmelia to me. I could see on his face that he was very angry with what Amber and Joice had said.
"I’ve had enough of you two, and now I want you to pack up all your belongings and leave the mansion!" my dad ordered them.
I didn’t expect him to actually kick them out, but it had to be done because they had gone too far.
"You can’t kick us out! Joice is still your daughter. Are you just going to throw her away?!" said Amber who looked angry at Dad.
"I’m not throwing her away, she’s an adult and she can find her own job. I told you that I would take care of her and let her live in my mansion until she is able to find a job."
"And now she’s 25 years old now and has even graduated from university. It’s time for you all to get out of here!"
What Dad said was right, if Joice’s age was only a few months different from Sam’s, then she should be very mature to get a job.
She should be able to support herself, as well as her mother. Moreover, her mother is not my father’s wife, which means they have no right to continue living in our family mansion.
"But dad, I don’t have any job! All this time I..." Joice tried to plead with him, saying that she didn’t have a job and didn’t know where to work.
However, dad didn’t seem to care, and said that Joice was too spoiled because she always depended on him. Even at the age of 25, she had yet to find a job.
She was always busy shopping, using the money Dad always gave her.
"Now that you’re out of here, wherever you’re going to live I don’t care anymore and the rest of the money you have in your savings is the last money I give you. Whatever the amount is is your responsibility, I won’t give you anymore."
I felt relieved that dad had finally made that decision, although there was still a bad feeling in me because they were suddenly evicted right on the day I came to this mansion.
But I couldn’t feel sorry for them for destroying our family.
"I can’t! I don’t want to leave this place and you can’t force me to!" It was obvious that woman really didn’t want to leave this mansion and she even turned to me and looked at me sharply.
"All of this is because of you!" She pointed at my face with a sharp look and walked towards me.
What was she going to do? I tried to protect Carmelia who was in my arms hoping that he wouldn’t do anything rude to my daughter.
Until finally my dad suddenly snapped very loudly.
"AMBER!"
