Chapter 133: I Hope Everything Will Be Okay

Sean finally arrived at the company although quite late but he was still able to attend the meeting held that morning. His head was actually hurting because he hadn’t gotten enough sleep since a few days, plus a demonstration event about the new technology they were developing was coming up.

"So the AT3062 device will be demonstrated at..." one of the employees explained about the device.

Usually every 6 to 8 months there would be an Expo event where several companies would do demonstrations of what they were making at the time or open job vacancies. It was still a prototype but they were looking for attention from other companies if they were interested in what they were making.

Sean watched as the employee explained about the Prototype device but his vision was a little blurry due to his headache. He tried to massage the bridge of his nose, but he really felt very tired.

’I really can’t concentrate at all. This is a very important meeting to listen to. I guess I’ll ask Ronald who usually summarizes these meetings again for me to reread,’ he thought as he sighed softly.

"What’s wrong Mr. Sean? Is there something wrong with the presentation I’ve prepared?" the employee asked which made me a bit surprised and said that everything was fine.

"I’m just a little tired, you can continue with your presentation. There’s nothing wrong at all and I like it," he replied as everyone immediately looked at him.

Finally he was able to go to his office, and rest despite the fact that there were so many things she had to do on his desk. He felt like his work was endless because at the company he had to see a lot of things that determined the future of his company.

Meanwhile, at home he was busy with Carmelia who was sick with a fever although fortunately his daughter’s condition had started to improve.

It made him a little stressed because he was sleep deprived and piled up with so much work at his company. In the end, his head really hurt and he couldn’t focus on her work right now.

"Damn it, my head just won’t cooperate for now at this point even my eyes feel too tired to look at or read anything." He continued to massage the bridge of his nose, with a feeling he could not explain.

All day long he kept enduring the pain in his head, which felt like it was about to explode. Sean tried to restrain himself so that nothing would happen that we would not want because of his current health.

But the very thing he feared happened.

"Sean, Sean, Sean!" called out a woman as she touched the man’s shoulder.

His aching head and the voice of the call that was directed at him, suddenly he actually exploded because he couldn’t bear it.

"What do you want?! You keep calling me Sean Sean Sean! Don’t you know it’s very annoying and makes my head hurt even more?! You’re really annoying!" he snapped with great annoyance at the woman who had been calling his name.

When the man finally turned to the woman, he realized that the woman was his own wife. Odelia had been watching Sean, who continued to daydream silently on the sofa right in their daughter’s hospital room.

Of course the yelling made Odelia feel hurt and surprised because this was the first time Sean had yelled at her so loudly. Whereas before he had never once scolded her while yelling like that.

"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you angry with me like that. I know you must be tired right there, I’m sorry," she apologized with tears trapped in her blue eyes.

Sean, who realized his mistake, immediately pulled Odelia’s hand apologizing for what he had done.

"Hey I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to yell at you like that. I was just so tired that I didn’t realize what I was saying. Please forgive me Odelia. I’m sorry, love," he said repeatedly while pulling Odelia into his arms.

Now he felt really guilty for yelling at Odelia who was also tired from taking care of their sick daughter. But he had snapped at her so hard and hurt her feelings. Even though he didn’t mean to do that.

"I’m sorry," he said again as he kissed Odelia’s forehead and rubbed her head.

"It’s okay, I can understand that you’re very tired right now. You should also rest while Carmelia is also sleeping now. Her fever rose again this afternoon while you were at work, I just wanted to say that," Odelia replied as she buried her face in Sean’s arms.

He sighed heavily, rubbing his face against Odelia’s neck as he tried to calm down. He inhaled the scent of his wife’s body and felt a little calmer, especially with the warm embrace and Odelia rubbing his back.

"You’d better go home, you need some rest because you’ll definitely be working again tomorrow."

But Sean refused, he wanted to be there with his daughter and wife. He would try to rest for a while, maybe sleep on the sofa in the room.

"I just need to sleep for a while, maybe I’ll feel fine afterward. I’m really sorry about what I said earlier," he replied as he released their embrace and sat down on the sofa.

Seeing that of course Odelia knew that I would not feel comfortable just sitting there. She then sat up and offered her husband to lay his head on her lap.

"While Carmelia is fast asleep, you should sleep here. Come here," she invited as she gently patted his lap.

Because he was too tired and didn’t want to argue, Sean immediately laid his head on his wife’s lap which felt so comfortable that the pain in his head slowly disappeared after Odelia gently massaged his head.

"You must be very tired, the work at your company is very heavy plus you have to help me take care of our sick daughter. You really are a wonderful husband and father. I’m sure Carmelia is very proud of you once she understands this. Because that’s how I feel," she said gently as she continued to massage his head and forehead.

A smile began to appear on his face again, his frustration and stress decreased until slowly Sean was finally able to fall asleep soundly. He hugged Odelia’s waist, feeling the warmth of the woman he loved so much.

Odelia herself felt so calm that Sean could finally rest. Now she just hoped that their daughter’s condition would soon improve as before.

Meanwhile elsewhere, Sophie went to the hospital where she saw Sean had left and was in the hospital parking lot. She saw him yesterday morning and was curious about the room he was in.

She had come to the hospital to see her friend who had just given birth, and it was a coincidence that she saw Sean there and thought, what was he doing in the hospital so early?

But when she heard that Carmelia had fallen ill, she felt that this was a good opportunity to do something so that she could get Sean back.

"But I need to know which room she’s in right now. That way I can do something to them," she thought at the time because she was planning something very far from human.

She wanted to make Sean’s daughter experience more pain, which would make him feel tired of her daughter not getting better. Then Sophie would take on the role of someone who comforted Sean because she was sure Odelia would be busy taking care of their daughter.

"When he was stressed and frustrated, I would come to comfort him and be someone who was there for him. That way his attention will turn to me," she thought as she made her plans.

The woman then went to the hospital receptionist and asked about the girl named Carmelia Osbert.

"I’m one of Carmelia Osbert’s relatives, can you tell me where the room is where she’s being treated?" Sophie asked the nurse.

"Just a moment, we’ll try to find her," replied the nurse, who checked the list on the computer but paused when she saw the name Sophie had mentioned.

This made the woman wonder why the nurse didn’t tell her and just kept quiet. But after a few minutes, the nurse told Sophie to contact Osbert’s family directly if she wanted to meet him.

"But I can ask you directly, right? I don’t want to disturb the family who might be exhausted. That’s why I came to ask you about me," Sophie replied.

But she still wouldn’t answer her, saying that this was the hospital’s rules. Only the family was allowed to know about it and if Sophie wanted to come to his room, she could ask one of the family members who were accompanying the patient to come and get her.

This infuriated her and she left the receptionist. The nurse who had spoken to Sophie earlier didn’t know if she was doing the right thing or not but Sophie didn’t mention Carmelia’s middle name which she felt she only knew her first and last name.

Only worried that Sophie wasn’t really Carmelia’s family member because she didn’t know the little girl’s middle name.
