Chapter 42: Happiness Above His Suffering

Two women were laughing with each other while walking around the mall after they finished buying creeps for snacks. They had also just finished buying baby supplies.

"The creeps were really good, I like the ice cream topping. They mixed it with strawberry pieces, making it even better than the usual vanilla ice cream," Odelia said.

"Yes, I liked the flavor too. I usually buy strawberry flavor, but they have matcha flavor which is very new. So I want to try it," Megan replied with a chuckle, holding her sister-in-law’s hand so that Odelia wouldn’t have trouble walking.

"What are we going to get for lunch? I’m in the mood for sushi. But you’re pregnant," she continued to ask.

Hearing that Megan wanted sushi, Odelia wanted to eat it too. It had been a long time since she’d had sushi. But Megan still forbade her because sushi is not good for pregnant women.

They then talked to discuss what food they would buy for lunch, considering that they were still in the mall so there were many restaurants to choose from.

In the same mall, two other women were also going around shopping for expensive branded items because they felt it was their lifestyle.

Carrying shopping bags, the two women walked in the mall where only rich people can buy anything there.

"Go to the salon, wear nice clothes and look pretty. I’m sure many men will want both of us," said the blonde woman as she shook out her long hair.

"Of course, Alice. Who can resist the charms of beautiful women like us? Only the blind do," replied the woman standing next to her, who was none other than Monica.

She adjusted the glasses on her face while smiling arrogantly at everyone who passed by her. Showing that she was a charismatic woman carrer. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

"Oh but don’t forget about Vin, Monica. My brother is very lucky to have such a wonderful and loyal woman like you," Alice said happily but not Monica.

She rolled her eyes in annoyance at being stuck with a barren man like Vincent. She really wanted to have a child so that the entire Percy family fortune would come down to her and her child.

’Heh, of course he’s very lucky. It’s very rare for a woman like me to be with a useless barren man like him! It’s lucky that he’s handsome and wealthy, I can still maintain my sanity,’ she thought at the time.

The two of them went to the fourth floor of the mall, which was where the food and restaurants were located.

"I’m so hungry, what would you like to eat for lunch?" Monica asked.

"Hmn... Whatever is on the menu, which restaurant has the best food?"

Monica looked around them and chose a restaurant that she knew was quite popular for its good food. They entered the restaurant and looked for an empty table.

However, while looking for an empty place for them, Alice saw Odelia who was sitting in a place not far from where they were at the moment.

"Monica, Monica! Isn’t that that annoying woman? She’s with Mr. Osbert’s sister who slapped me that day!" she said.

"Huh, really?" Monica turned her head in the direction Alice was pointing, and it was true that it was Odelia and Megan.

Seeing the opportunity, they both approached the two women. Naturally, Monica wanted to release her anger because she was sure that right now Odelia was laughing at her misery because she knew Vincent was a barren person.

"Does the soup taste good, Odelia?" asked Megan who saw the woman eating the warm soup with a bowl of white rice.

"Very good, the meat is soft and the soup is warm. It makes my stomach feel warm," she replied as she rubbed her stomach. "How about your mozzarella spaghetti, is it good?"

"Yes, it was good. I..."

Not finished talking, suddenly two women stood beside their table which made them reflexively turn their heads.

"You two, what are you doing here? You’re interrupting our lunch," Megan said to Alice and Monica who were staring at them.

"What’s wrong with us being here? This is a public restaurant, anyone can come here. Including two strange women like you two," Alice replied, pointing at Megan and Odelia.

Of course the youngest daughter of the Osbert family looked annoyed by Alice’s words. She had to roll her eyes and let out a harsh sigh.

Monica’s brown eyes looked at Odelia, giving her a look of dislike. "You must be having fun right now, right? You know that Vin is barren and you’re laughing at my and his misery right now," she said as she folded her arms in front of her chest.

"That’s right, she’s laughing and mocking us. Arrogantly showing off her new life with another man! Don’t you know, you’re like a slut? You just got divorced but you’re already pregnant with another man’s child! How shameless!"

"Hey, watch your mouth, young lady. Don’t get my fork stuck in those lips of yours! Is that how you talk to someone who’s even older than you? Really, your mother must not have taught you any manners," Megan said with annoyance at Alice’s words.

Alice wrinkled her forehead as she was upset that Megan had brought her mother into this. Especially to the point of saying that she was never taught manners.

"Why would I maintain my manners with a woman like her? She’s such a sly woman!"

Just as Megan was about to reply again, Odelia touched her sister-in-law’s hand, asking her not to say any more.

"It’s okay, let me do the talking. Thank you for defending me," she said.

She then turned her head and looked at Monica who was laughing condescendingly at Odelia seeing how the woman seemed to be trying to deal with her.

"Oh you’re going to talk to me alone without anyone’s help? What can you do, huh? A woman like you wouldn’t even be able to defend yourself. You’re a weak woman and can’t do anything but be someone’s burden!" said Monica while laughing along with Alice.

Odelia smiled and opened her mouth.

"At least this weak woman has a much better life than you, Monica."
