Chapter 43: Enjoy The Vincent You Always Wanted

The ginger-haired woman smiled at the woman who had taken her ex-husband. The woman who now stood before her, looked down at her. Thinking that she was the weak Odelia that she had always known.

"At least this weak woman has a much better life than a perfect woman who lives a miserable life like you," she said which made Monica’s smile fade.

"I admit I’m a weak woman, I’m not a career woman like you and all I do is do housework. But... Is your current life better than mine? Vin rejected you, nor can you have children until Vin is done with his treatment, that is if it works. Hmnn... It’s going to take a long time," Odelia continued.

"What? Are you trying to say that I have a worse life than you?!"

"I’m not saying that, but right now I’ve got a caring husband, a good family and soon my daughter will be born. I guess divorcing Vin wasn’t so bad after all."

She looked back at Monica and smiled. "Thank you for forcing me to divorce from him. I didn’t end up with him and hearing Samantha and Alice scream forever."

Odelia’s words surprised Monica and Alice. They didn’t expect a woman like her to say something like that, even though all this time she never even dared to reply to their words and always took refuge behind the people around her.

Megan herself felt proud of her brother’s wife. She was especially pleased with the answer of Odelia who could now stand on her own two feet, replying to their bad words.

’Good job, Odelia!’ she thought happily and turned to the two women standing next to their table.

"What’s wrong? Why are you guys so quiet like that, hmn? Ohh... Your mother isn’t here so you can’t complain to her? Poor thing... Do you want me to buy you candy? Ahahaha...!" laughed Megan patronizingly at the two annoying women.

Of course Monica didn’t accept being humiliated like that, even though she planned to take out her annoyance on Odelia by humiliating the woman, but she got it instead and it was Odelia herself who said it.

Her hands were clenched tightly into fists, even to the point where her nails almost broke because she was pressing them too hard.

"Monica, we’d better get out of here. I can’t stand hearing her talk anymore! She’s really turning out to be more and more annoying!" whispered Alice who was holding her brother’s lover’s arm.

However, she did not want to just leave after being humiliated like that. Monica squinted her eyes sharply looking back at Odelia.

"Heh, don’t talk as if I don’t know about your foul plan! You must have married Mr. Osbert just for his inheritance, right? You knew Vin couldn’t have children, so you took your divorce for granted and went into Mr. Osbert’s arms!" said Monica as she pointed in front of Odelia’s face.

"Besides, how could a woman like you want to be with a man so much older than you! I remember him being around 33 to 34 years old, and I remember you being even younger than Vin!" she continued.

"That’s right, I remember this woman being two years younger than Vin! 27 years old this year! You are 7 years apart!" Alice added.

However, Megan said that being 7 years apart was not a problem. It’s not a huge difference, even more than 10 years. She thinks it’s still very normal.

"You guys are overreacting, after all my brother is still very handsome and mature. He knows which women are good and which women are childish fools like you!" Megan stood up from her chair and shooed them away.

"Megan is right, I admit I do like Sean because of his mature demeanor and he has a lot more experience than men my age or two to three years above me," Odelia replied and looked at the two women in turn.

She says she doesn’t even feel embarrassed by it, she just feels so comfortable and safe around him. He is so protective and mature. So understanding of Odelia’s feelings that it is difficult to even make decisions wisely.

"Even Vin, who is a little older than me, still can’t make decisions. And I only realized it after meeting Sean. Vin always asked me to be patient without being able to make a decision to keep me away from his mother and younger sister," she continued to explain seriously.

Odelia’s explanation left Monica and Alice at a loss for words, they couldn’t answer her anymore and simply left.

"Monica," she called out before the woman was completely gone. "Enjoy your life with Vin, as you wish."

Odelia sighed softly as she stirred her soup which had gone cold. Seeing that, Megan asked the waiter to warm up the ginger-haired woman’s soup again and increase the soup even if she had to pay an extra fee.

"They really are so annoying, like they can’t see anyone else happy!"

"Yeah, I don’t understand their thoughts either. They always want me to look bad, but they forget that people can change," Odelia said as she drank her strawberry juice.

"But I’m proud of your answer, Odelia! Wait until Sean hears it! He’ll be happy for you too, you didn’t let them set foot on you again and you can be more honest and assertive!"

She smiled when she heard the praise, she also didn’t expect to be so brave even though she actually felt trembling when she said it. But Odelia couldn’t just listen to bad things said to her, especially when she was pregnant.

Megan agreed with that, especially since it was very sensitive and shouldn’t be said. But she was glad that Odelia could manage her emotions well.

They finally let it go by enjoying their lunch again after Odelia’s soup had finished warming up. She ate her soup with a sense of relief and pleasure at being able to silence Monica and Alice.

The delicious and warm soup was like a reward for her for being able to do so.

’The world is indeed very cruel and strange, people are very unhappy to see others happy. But don’t worry about that, Little One. Mommy and Daddy will protect you from people like that. Until you can protect yourself.’
