Chapter 45: Someone She Just Meet

Vansia City, Dormania, 1pm

"Hello Odelia, how are you?" asked a woman with wavy black hair as she called her sister-in-law whom she considered her own sister.

"I’m fine, how about you? When are you going home to Zondalian?" asked Odelia over the phone.

"I’ll be back... Maybe in a week. My work won’t be finished until next week because the wedding is in four to five days. I see a lot of interesting things here," she replied.

The woman walked on while chatting with Odelia on the phone, they talked about the project Megan was currently working on.

"I hope you’re careful, Megan. Dormania is very famous for its dangerous mafia groups, I hope you don’t get into trouble with them," said a worried Odelia. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

"Oh about that, actually the family that invited me here is a mafia family. They knew of my work from my company’s website and asked me to come directly here to decorate their daughter’s very lavish wedding banquet! I’ll admit, even the company banquets that cost hundreds of millions of dollars are inferior to my project this time!" the woman explained happily because she got a big project.

"Really? That’s great. Their daughter must be very happy."

"I know, right? That’s just the decorations, not to mention the food and everything. That’s why I have to stay here until the wedding day is over to monitor the decorations on the wedding day."

Megan continued to chat and recount her activities while in the city of Vansia. Unbeknownst to her, a man was standing in front of her checking his watch.

The man also didn’t notice Megan’s arrival because he had his back to her.

Bump!

She accidentally bumped into the man who surprised her because she wasn’t paying attention to the road.

"Oh dear-"

"What’s wrong, Megan? Something happened?" asked Odelia who heard the woman’s surprised voice.

"Just a minute, okay?" She pressed the mute button and walked over to the man she had bumped into. "I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to..."

She was even more surprised to see that the man’s shirt was dirty from the coffee he was holding.

"Oh! I-I’m sorry, I’m really sorry!" Megan frantically took something from her bag and wiped the coffee spilled on the man’s neck, hands and shirt.

’That’s bad... What if he gets angry? You’re so careless, Megan!’ she thought frantically.

The man caught Megan’s wrist and pulled her close. His brown eyes stared intently into hers.

"Let me do it myself," he said.

He took the cloth in her hand and wiped the coffee marks on his neck.

However, as the folded cloth unfolded, Megan thought it was her handkerchief. However, it turned out to be her white panties. She folded them into a square in case something happened, but she mistook them for her handkerchief.

"So this is how you flirt with a man?" the man asked in a low voice.

"I-it’s not like that, I’m sorry! It’s a misunderstanding!" Her face turned red and she snatched her panties out of his hand.

’What a fool, I gave him my underwear instead! From the looks of it, he’s wearing a full suit and looks fierce. Don’t be... Is he one of the mafia bosses?’ Megan thought fearfully, worried that she wouldn’t be able to get home because of this stupid incident.

He sighed harshly and picked up his own handkerchief. "Watch your step next time, lucky I didn’t do anything to you."

From a distance, someone called out to the man and he immediately turned his head towards the voice calling him.

"Mr. Lorenzo, your car is ready!" called his men.

"I’ll be right there," he replied and looked at Megan again. "Mark my words, woman."

He straightened his suit and turned to leave. Megan stared silently at the man named Lorenzo, a tall, handsome man with flaming ginger hair.

"He’s so handsome..." she murmured.

She then remembered that her phone was still connected to Odelia, Megan turned off the mutes so Odelia could hear her voice again.

"Hello Odelia, are you still there?"

"Yes, I’m here. Did something happen earlier?" she asked worriedly.

"Oh something crazy happened, but it’s okay. There’s no need to think about it. Where were we?"

At TechnOzone Company, Sean had just finished with his meeting. The employees began to tidy up the documents they had on the table.

"I hope from this meeting, you can prepare well. At the Expo, there will be many people who will come and might be interested in our goods. So don’t give our company a bad name and do your best, do you understand?" Sean asked his employees.

"We’re understand!" they replied in unison.

He nodded his head and invited them to leave the meeting room.

Sean leaned back in his chair for a moment and sighed.

"Are you okay, Mr. Sean?" Ronald asked his boss.

"Yeah, my head just hurts a little. I don’t have anything scheduled for this week, do I?"

Ronald looked into his cell phone, checking his boss’s schedule. "Nothing, sir. You asked me to clear all the schedules for the next two weeks because Mrs. Osbert is going into labor."

"Right, very good. I’ll be at home and send all my work to my house," Sean said as he stood up from his chair.

He walked to his office for a while to check a few things on his computer.

"It’s already eleven o’clock, I should be home before lunch and cook for Odelia," he muttered and then searched for data in his email.

The man then opened several emails from his partners until he realized that there was one email coming to his computer, it was from a service agency that dealt with marriage registration.

Sean remembered that he had applied for marriage registration with Odelia, so the two of them could fill out the forms and have the wedding after Odelia gave birth.

"Has my application been accepted? That’s great, this way everything will be quick," he murmured happily and opened the email.

He perused the email reply from the wedding ministry. His smile suddenly faded as she read the email to the end.

"The marriage application... Rejected?"
