I Have A Baby From My Ex-Husband's Enemy-Chapter 53: Congratulations On The Birth Of The Baby
With the Expo approaching, Sean was forced to go back to work and attend meetings as TechnOzone had to prepare their latest technology that they would be demonstrating to get people interested.
He had to check the device, make sure it was working properly and if there was anything that needed to be fixed, they still had time for that.
"I’ll be back as soon as possible," he said as he put on his suit.
Odelia helped tidy up her husband’s tie and suit. "It’s okay, just focus on your work first. I’m at home with my mom and Sam anyway, Megan’s only gone for a while and will be home soon. I didn’t expect her to insist on returning from Dormania early just to meet Carmelia," she said.
"She’s such an impatient woman. I’ll still go home as soon as I can. I want to go to bed with Carmelia," said the man.
She took their daughter from the baby crib and Sean kissed her on the cheek and forehead.
"Daddy has to go to work for a while, I’ll be right back to keep you company. Wait for daddy at home." Sean gently rubbed Carmelia’s sleeping head.
"Then I’m off." He kissed Odelia and they went to the front door to drop him off.
From the direction of the kitchen, Dasha saw how her daughter romantically escorted her husband to the door. Sean kissed his wife again before finally leaving the house.
The middle-aged woman smiled, feeling both happy and relieved that Sean really loved Odelia. However, she sometimes felt worried that her daughter would have the same experience as her in the past.
’She’s suffered enough from her ex in law, I hope she won’t feel it again. Especially if she gets betrayed,’ she said silently, pleading that everything would be okay.
Arriving at the company, Sean went straight to the meeting room in a hurry. As soon as the elevator opened, as usual Ronald was waiting for him.
"How are the preparations for this meeting?" he asked seriously.
"The preparations are complete, they are just waiting for you to arrive and start the meeting," Ronald replied and opened the door to the room.
Sean looked at his employees and started the important meeting. They discussed many things such as the effectiveness of the device they made, the people who would definitely buy the device and so on.
Until three hours passed, the meeting finally ended which made Sean feel relieved. There had been so much to discuss lately and it made him exhausted. But that was common when it came to the release of a new device or an Expo they were participating in.
However, when the meeting was over and Sean let them leave the room first, the employees just silently looked at him.
"What’s wrong? You can leave already," the CEO said to them.
That’s when they all stood up from their seats and pulled out party poppers on their boss.
"Congratulations on the birth of your baby, Mr. Osbert!" they exclaimed together, congratulating him.
Of course it made Sean surprised, especially about his employees who knew about the birth of his daughter. He turned to Ronald who had accidentally told them yesterday.
"No wonder, my wife even came here just once and not everyone knows her," he said with a sigh.
They congratulated Sean as they shook his hand and cut the cake they had bought together to celebrate. After all was said and done, everyone left the room except for one woman.
The woman with a beautiful face and ideal body, walked up to her boss.
"Is it true?" she asked as Sean stood up from his chair.
"What’s wrong, Sophie? What do you mean by your question?"
"Is it true that you have a child? Do you really have a wife?" asked Sophie again, who seemed unhappy with the fact that Sean already had a partner.
Let alone a child, she had never even heard of him having a wife before. Even if he seemed to be close to a woman, Sophie felt that it was impossible.
But, of course, Sean replied that he already had a wife and children. That made Sophie even more upset, as she didn’t like the answer on his face.
"How could you do this? I don’t remember you ever getting close to anyone, not even women!"
"That’s true, but my wife is different from them and I love her. So, you can leave this room now, Sophie," he replied.
"Hmph, I thought there was something special between us!" Irritated, she walked away, leaving Sean and Ronald behind.
"Strange woman, she’s scolding you just like that," the secretary commented but Sean didn’t really care what Sophie said.
Instead, he wondered what she had said about ’something special’ between them.
Without thinking, he went to his office to check his emails as usual.
At 2pm, Sean returned home and couldn’t wait to hold Carmelia. Arriving home, he went straight to his room and saw Odelia breastfeeding their daughter.
"Daddy’s home," she said with a smile.
"Right, I’m home. I brought you your favorite strawberry cake." He handed her a box containing two slices of cake.
"Change your clothes and then wash your hands if you want carrying her."
Sean followed everything Odelia said. In the bag of cake, she found two tickets for dinner on the cruise. She took the expensive-looking tickets.
"Oh... Did he buy this for dinner together?" she muttered.
She looked at the date on the ticket, and found that it was for tomorrow night. Sean, who had just returned, explained that he was inviting her to have dinner together, so that Odelia could also take a break from looking after their baby.
"If we go out to dinner, what about Carmelia?" she asked.
"We can leave her with your mother or Megan, just for one night. You need a break, to calm yourself down from looking after Carmelia. Take it easy, she’ll be fine," Sean replied as he rubbed his wife’s head.
Noticing the ticket, Odelia admitted that she was indeed a bit tired and finally agreed to Sean’s invitation to dinner.
"Alright, I’ll accept your invitation."
